Chaos comes on the air with the smiling faces of Robert Quinn and Analicia Morales-Connors both standing in the ring holding microphones while the fans chant "We Want Violence!". Robert begins to speak over the chants
Robert Quinn: Trust me ladies and gentlemen you're gonna get what you want tonight because this is "A Night of Violence" after all but in less than two weeks we also have by far the biggest event in the history of EPIC with REBIRTH on Pay Per View. We'd like to thank our weekly television home Amazon for being a sponsor as well as our newest sponsor Taco Bell. But you all aren't here to listen to me talk about sponsors, you want to find out what other matches will be taking place on April 19th at REBIRTH besides the World Championship unification match between "Hungry" Jack Swanson and CCW Platinum Champion JC Keeton and the Chaos Championship match between the veteran Muru and the rookie Moros. Analicia why don't you do the honors of announcing our first match?
Analicia Morales-Connors: Why thank you for allowing me the pleasure Robert. Now this match is one I’m definitely interested in seeing and has title implications as well. See as you just mentioned, the Chaos Championship will be contested for at REBIRTH but on that same night we will also be deciding the first contender in a triple threat match! This will be between two competitors who have impressed so far in EPIC, the first being “The Prodigal Son” Dragan Hill, and the second being Celina del Añil! The third person in the match will be decided tonight as ring veteran Angelica Ruiz-Meyer squares up against the tiny Japanese dynamo Chiaki Kodaka. Now Robert, if you’d be so kind as to let these amazing fans know another match they have to look forward to at REBIRTH.
Robert raises the microphone and the "We Want Violence" chants start again.
Robert Quinn: Well since you all want violence so much how about we announce the Violence Championship match?
The crowd erupts, bringing an even wider smile to the CEOs face.
Robert Quinn: It will be the current champion, Kyūkyoku no Kyōjin taking on "The EPIC Gamer" Daniel Dream AND Anton Scarlov aka Scar AND if he can get medical clearance by then the first ever Violence Champion El Diablo Blanco!
A massive pop for El D rings out as a fan is shown at ringside eating a Flamin Diablo Burrito.
Robert Quinn: Now there's a whole roster of folks as well as potential outsiders who could throw a wrench into these plans by winning tonight's Violence Invitational Gauntlet. In the event someone other than the four men I just announced leave with the title tonight the Fatal Fourway becomes a Fatal Fiveway! Analicia it's going to be hard to top that but why don't you tell us another match our rabid fan base can look forward to.
Analicia Morales-Connors: You are right in that’ll be a hard match to top Robert but if there’s one thing we’re looking to pride ourselves on, it’s always raising the bar and introducing the world to incredible talent from all around the world. That is one of the reasons why I’m happy to announce that at REBIRTH we will be seeing the American in-ring debut of one of the hottest prospects to come to our company from the far east! That’s right, REBIRTH will see Ōkami no Ame in action!
Analicia pauses as the crowd erupts in cheers over the announcement. She takes a moment to let the fans go on before continuing.
Analicia Morales-Connors: Now I know this is a little bit of a cheat on my end announcing two in a row but seeing just how much that fan is enjoying that Flamin Diablo Burrito makes me think that I need to add some extra spice and let the crowd that officially confirmed for REBIRTH after a couple weeks of teasing, it will be “The Dark Angel” Drake Connors taking on “The Black Belt Empress” Xiuhua ‘Dizzie’ Zhou in what will absolutely be a hot contest!
The fans chime in with even more of an ovation which brings about a smirk from Analicia.
Analicia Morales-Connors: Now we heard one of the combatants in that match, Dizzie, basically say that anything you can do I can do better. So how about it Robert? What else do the fans have to look forward to at EPIC’s incredible return to pay-per-view?
Robert Quinn: Well Analicia EPIC's legal department received a contract drawn up by the attorneys for The Dalmon's and it's no surprise coming from them that it was a rather strangely worded document. They want to face Ethan and Lucas Wylde, known of course as Wyldeside, in a match where the winning team will be legally declared "The Greatest Siblings in EPIC", we've sent the contract to the Wylde brothers and expect them to sign it before the end of the night. I know there's a few more matches waiting on technicalities before they can be made official but I think you have one more right?
Analicia Morales-Connors: You’re right once again Robert there is one more match that’s just been made official but it’s another one that’s had its own unique form of teasing for the last few weeks. In a match that will surely be hard hitting and potentially give us future title contenders, it will be the controversial “Lowe Hanger” Frank Lowe taking on “The Luminous Nova” Terra Mason! I know at least as far as Terra goes, she’s been dying to get Frank in the ring but following our last installment of Chaos, those feelings could finally be reciprocated. Either way that match and all of EPIC REBIRTH is sure to be an amazing show! For Robert and myself, we look forward to you joining us for the special event!
The packed crowd in the Chaos Complex once again show their enthusiasm with a fit of cheers as the scene fades out and the feed shifts.
Sealing The Deal?
We see “Rock Hard” Richard Stone walking backstage at the Chaos Complex. He passes by catering and looks in, wondering if tonight is the night he will get that free meal. Unfortunately no, because he has something else tasty on his mind. He continues searching until he finally spots his target.
Richard Stone: Hey there baby! I’ve been looking all over for you. You weren’t trying to avoid ole “Rock Hard” were you?
We see he is addressing his opponent tonight, and potential object of his desires, Dizzie. She turns to him not sure what to make of the man before her.
Dizzie: Avoiding you? Nah, but it ain’t time for our match yet so I’m not sure what you’re looking to do. Unless you wanna get to fighting early. It is violence rules all night so if you’re ready, I’ll throw down.
Richard Stone: About that...I wanted to be a gentleman and offer to cancel the match. I know you're one of those strong woman types but I don't want you to get hurt, well not intentionally. Instead why don't you let "Rock Hard" reschedule the match for later tonight in my hotel room? It can be a triple threat...you, me, and a bottle of wine baby!
He smiles his best smile, knowing that no girl can resist Richard Stone. Dizzie looks at Stone almost in disbelief for a moment before realizing that he’s serious which causes her to place her hands on her hips, letting out a soft chuckle.
Dizzie: While I guess I appreciate the offer, I have to let you know three things first before I officially pass on it. One, I kinda already got me a man in my cushion JC. Two, even if I didn’t, I ain’t that type of lady. Three, I wouldn’t worry so much about me getting hurt as I would about you. I got me a point to prove when it comes to my opponent at REBIRTH and I’m not ending the night without doing so. Sorry man.
Not one to take rejection, Stone isn't giving up that easily.
Richard Stone: JC Keeton? He's just a boy! He's not a real man like me baby! I bet if you just gave "Rock Hard" a chance you might like the lady you become. You can't hurt me beautiful, well unless you're talking about my pride. So I'll take it easy on you in the ring and then after maybe you'll reconsider my offer. I've got my own point to prove baby!
He gives her a wink. Dizzie lets out a few chuckles again before nodding her head as if in agreement.
Dizzie: You know, you got a point there, you and JC are nothing alike. As far as thinking things over goes, how about I tell it to you like this. We’ll have our match and after it’s all said and done, see how you feel after because while you looking to take it easy on me, I ain’t offering the same back.
He still smiles at her. In his mind he's close to sealing the deal.
Richard Stone: That's better than a no baby! I'll see you in the ring beautiful.
Dizzie: Yeah, sure. Okay.
Letting out one last chuckle, Dizzie turns away from Stone and walks off as the scene fades and feed switches over.
El Diablo Blanco is seen walking backstage, still defeated by the fact that he doesn’t actually have clearance to wrestle tonight. He’s not the same person we’ve come to know and love. Head up low, El Diablo somberly traipsed his way around the arena but soon took notice as he walked past the office of Ali Quinn. Ali exited the office, detecting the presence of El Diablo.
Ali Quinn: El D, what’s the matter?
El Diablo Blanco: Oh hey there, Sister. Mr. Quinn been around these parts recently?
Ali Quinn: He’s been all over the place today. A Night of Violence has been taking up quite a bit of his time. Is there something I can help you out with?
El Diablo Blanco: Oh, no. It’s okay. I don’t need to bring you into my dilemma.
Ali Quinn: You can come to me. Shoot.
El Diablo Blanco: I appreciate it, Sister. It’s just I need to get cleared to compete. What use am I to the Diablo Nation if I can’t go out there and do what I was born to do? What use am I to the Taco Bell Sponsorship? I want to compete but Dr. Ausfhart won’t clear me until I get a full physical. Do you know what that means? Exposing myself. This mask hasn’t come off for a long time. I don’t even know if my kids know what I truly look like.
Ali Quinn: Are there any other options? I’m sure there’s confidentiality agreements.
El Diablo Blanco: I can’t turn my back on my morals; confidentiality agreement or not. My name. My face. It’ll be out there and I know there’s despicable people that will use that to their advantage. Right now, there’s only one way I can keep my identity and be cleared. It’s just… it doesn’t feel right.
Ali Quinn: If it accomplishes things for the better how bad can it be? You have good intentions behind it.
El Diablo Blanco: It’s just… so Dr. Ausfhart came to me earlier today. He knows about the Taco Bell sponsorship. He knows about my downside guarantee with them and he said he would clear me to wrestle… if I paid him to. The Diablo Nation needs me but what example am I to all those Little Diablitos out there if I give in? That money was to go to my daughter’s Montessori School tuition. It was to go towards my wife’s medical supplies. Instead, a good chunk goes into his pocket along with the innocence of all those Little Diablitos, Sister.
Ali Quinn: I see.
Ali Quinn stands there, still in the doorway to her office thinking over El Diablo’s dilemma for a minute.
Ali Quinn: I'll be honest I pegged that guy as a crooked quack the minute I met him and I think I know exactly who hired him and their last name isn't Quinn. I'll tell you what, if it'll ease your mind both from a morals standpoint and a financial standpoint I'll give you the money out of my own bank account to pay him off just so you can compete tonight. He doesn't have to know where it came from and it won't be a matter of me frauding the company if I use my own money and not the company bank account. I know it's still not the most moral decision but we don't have a lot of time to decide. I think the Diablo Nation will understand that you're doing this for them. What do you think?
El Diablo Blanco: I can’t ask you to do that, Sister. El Diablo doesn’t put someone in a position in which they can’t recoup their finances.
Ali Quinn: You’re not asking me. I’m offering. Besides, this is for the greater good. The Diablo Nation will understand.
El Diablo Blanco runs both hands through the hair of his mask pondering the proposition.
El Diablo Blanco: I can't say I 100% agree with the methods but it seems I’m without a choice. I accept this and I’m forever indebted to you… I’ll do it but only so all those Little Diablitos out there learn that someone is out there looking out for the little guy. Because of you, Sister, I’m gonna go out there tonight and I’m going to win that Violence Title. For you. For the Nation. For Taco Bell.
Ali Quinn: Let me get my checkbook.
She steps into the office briefly and returns with her checkbook and a pen.
Ali Quinn: I'll make it out to you then you can pay him out of your own bank account and cash this to replace it.
She finishes writing the checks and hands it to him.
El Diablo Blanco: Rock on, Sister. Your generosity is appreciated by the Diablo Nation. You ever need anything don't be afraid to ask.
El Diablo rustles through the pockets of his Zubaz pants and pulls out two Diablo sauce packet handing them to Ali as she graciously heads straight to Dr. Ausfhart's office. Ali looks down on the packets of Diablo sauce. One reads 'Bad Influence' while the other reads 'Problem Solved' on the front of the packaging. She smiles and shakes her head as she returns to business.
Angelica Ruiz-Meyer vs. Chiaki Kodaka
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Our opening match this evening features two stars looking to have their names added to the number one contenders match for the Chaos Title, taking place at REBIRTH. Both Chiaki Kodaka and Angelica Ruiz-Meyer are going into this contest following decisive victories but only one can prevail here in the end. Who will find themselves a part of EPIC REBIRTH? We’ll find out right now.
A tie up gets things started with the match, both ladies jockeying for position. Angelica uses her size advantage to push Chiaki back but as soon as she goes to continue the attack, the speedy Kodaka rolls underneath and surprises the veteran on the turn with a Hurricanrana for a quick two count. Angelica gets back up and tries to charge after Chiaki again but gets caught in a Somato Pin for another two count. Angelica, clearly frustrated, finally gets the advantage, raking the eyes of Chiaki before grabbing her and delivering a Gutwrench Suplex. Ruiz-Meyer follows it up with some stomps but after a few minutes of attack Kodaka rallies back, kicking away a chair Angelica tried to use and hitting her with a Running Double Knee Strike. The ending came as Chiaki had Angelica on the ropes, looking to charge at her and strike with a Tiger Feint Kick. However, the ring awareness of the veteran helped her to grab at the chair she attempted to use earlier and nail Kodaka right on the head with it as she came at her. Dropping the chair down on the mat, Ruiz-Meyer grabbed the downed Chiaki by the hair before delivering a snap DDT right onto the steel, going for the cover and obtaining the win.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Angelica was definitely happy to take advantage of the show’s violence theme, using the steel chair to win the match at the 12 minute and 56 second mark over Chiaki. With this victory Angelica Ruiz-Meyer has secured her spot in the number one contenders match for the Chaos Championship at REBIRTH.
Let It Out
Eli Hix sits on a bench in the locker room, headphones in, reading The Executioner's Song by Norman Mailer when he looks up noticing the camera.
Eli Hix: I've been reading all the fascinating facts about the beauty in death since my most cherished set of foster parents perished in an unfortunate accident when I was 7. That changed me. Most would say it was a change for the worst but it opened my eyes in such an enlightening way. The average human has between 1.2 and 1.5 gallons of blood in their bodies. Wrestlers being above average in size means that the combined volume of blood not counting my own that I have the opportunity to spill tonight is roughly 28 gallons. However, the last drop of blood doesn't have to be drained from a body for them to bleed out. Exsanguination is the loss of blood to a degree sufficient to cause death and it only requires as little as 0.53 gallons of blood to be lost.
??: You’re...you’re not...accounting for the element of surprise…
The words, spoken in a somewhat shaky tone, caused the camera to zoom out a bit. Off in the corner of the room stood the masked young man Moros. It’s not known exactly how long he’s been there but judging by his expression and tense stance, he must’ve heard at least a good portion of what Hix had just said. He cautiously takes a step forward before speaking up once more.
Moros: You have to take into account the possibility of surprise entrants, while also keeping in mind each announced individual’s size...sorry….
Knowing at this point he couldn’t go back and change his decision to speak, he took another step forward, preparing himself in case he has to defend himself.
Eli Hix: Calm yourself boy, my friend and I appreciate someone who has a desire for the facts in every situation but with so many unknown variables in play I took the high average of 1.5 added an additional 0.5 gallons which is how I got 28, roughly. I can't be exact with things but I like to be close like how many millimeters into the carotid you can cut before there's no going back… I'm rambling. My name is Charlie, this is my friend…
Hix looks to his left at an empty spot on the bench beside him and nods his head as if someone is speaking.
Eli Hix: Nevermind, my name is Eli… Eli Hix. You might have heard of my father Stewart. He was a 27 time World Champion. Who are you?
Moros: I have actually, but….
Taking a glance over at the empty spot himself, Moros was quick to look back over to Eli, studying for a second before shifting gears.
Moros: Only in passing conversations about wrestling history. You can call me Moros.
Eli Hix: Ah we interacted over the bird on my phone. I'm sorry I've been away a lot, technology as well as pop culture can be hard for me to comprehend. You were having issues with blood stains if I recall?
Moros: I’d normally be taken back by someone saying that so plainly but with how I’ve been over the last few days, I kind of can’t. Yeah.. I have been having issues with that. I mean as far as the blood, I don’t mind it so much. I...I just don’t know what to do now.. I feel incomplete. Honestly I don’t even know why I’m saying this out loud. It’s like I can’t hold it in like I used to.
Eli cocks his head to the side confused by the conflict within Moros.
Eli Hix: I don't know what you're trying to hold in but holding things in is how you end up like me. Most people in my state of mind try to hold it in and hide it. I say embrace it, whether it's what people call "crazy" or just a darkness inside of them. I can help you let it out.
Moros: For a while I swore there was nothing to let out. That I was fine again. Though frustrated most of the time, in several ways, I was free from thoughts that plagued me years ago. But now..
Moros falls silent for a moment, shaking away a quick smirk that was barely caught in the view of the camera.
Moros: Now everything’s changed. I gave up on washing away what I did, I’ll carry that. But I need to know before I entertain the temptation further, is what I feel deep down your answer to helping me..let it out?
Hix nods as the closest thing to a smile he can muster forms.
Eli Hix: I think you know what you need to do to be free of this burden, physically and menatlly. I can’t do it for you but I can provide guidance.
Moros: I think you have a point but I feel it best that we take this conversation away from prying eyes. Don’t want to give away too much.
Moros turns his gaze from Hix, now staring over at the camera crew member with a distant smile on his face.
Moros: If you’d be so kind as to excuse yourself.
Dizzie vs. “Rock Hard” Richard Stone
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Following that I think it’s best we move onto the next match which saw “Rock Hard” Richard Stone face off against Dizzie and just like last week, I’d advise against blinking. Let’s see how things went in this contest.
The bell sounds to start the match, but rather than looking to get things started, Stone once again appears to be trying to smooth talk Dizzie. The rock hard one then offers his hand to his opponent and Dizzie shockingly takes it all smiles. The fans’ confusion quickly turns back into cheers as Dizzie’s amused face turns serious in the matter of seconds, the young woman gripping tighter and jumping up, transitioning the hold into the Zhou Trap (Flying Omaplata) adding extra torque to the submission hold. Stone has no choice but to immediately tap out, much to the delight of the crowd and Dizzie. The feed quickly switches back over to Bridget in the studio, who looks a bit amused herself.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: In an impressive showing Dizzie secures the victory over Richard Stone by submission in just 72 seconds. But our cameras followed the young woman backstage after the match as she happened to have yet another run-in with her REBIRTH opponent.
...I Can Do Better!
Turning the attention back over to the monitor, we see Dizzie, fresh off her match walk through the curtain into the gorilla position where she’s greeted by her opponent for REBIRTH, Drake Connors. Much like last week, they greet each other with a smile before Dizzie speaks up.
Dizzie: So big guy, you like whatchu saw or what? I told you last week, anything you can do...I can do better.
Singing the final part, Dizzie lets out a soft laugh which Connors returns following up with his classic smirk.
Drake Connors: You were definitely impressive but don’t get cocky kid, I’m the type to put on a show. If I wanted to, I could’ve finished that limp noodle quicker than I did. But I won’t take away from your performance.
Dizzie: Me I gotta admit to being glad we’re done with examples and have only each other to look forward to. Now I know you kinda got an in with one of the bosses, so I had an idea, or more of a challenge to throw your way, if you up for it.
Dizzie’s playful demeanor shifts ever so slightly, her smile having a certain fierceness to it now.
Dizzie: You see, you might be showing a lighter side here but I know how crazy you can get and what kinda fighter would I be if I backed out of a full test in favor of a traditional match. Now I know you picking up what I’m putting down. So you in?
Drake Connors: If that’s what you really want, how could I say no. You’re on.
Dizzie: Perfect, I’ll see you again soon.
Dizzie roughly pats her opponent on the chest before walking off. This time it’s Drake who’s left keeping an eye on her, pure focus on his face as he softly mutters to himself.
Drake Connors: Nice..
Dizzie: I heard that!
Both share a distant laugh before the scene fades out and the feed switches over.
What Ryan Shane Is About
In an undisclosed area of the Chaos Complex, Ryan Shane is dressed and ready for competition later tonight. As usual the look on his face is one of utmost seriousness. After a moment he begins to speak to the camera.
Ryan Shane: Last week I went out and totally dominated ONYX in my EPIC debut...just as one would have expected. I should have spent the rest of the night celebrating, but that no good piece of trash Graham Baker just couldn’t stay in his place. I’ve warned him and yet he still thinks that interfering in my business is a good idea.
Shane gives his patented smirk and then continues.
Ryan Shane: If he wants to have a war of words with me I have no issue telling him how things are and will be. At that point he’d been nothing but a nuisance but then he made the worst decision of his life. He tried to lay his hands on me. Obviously a big mistake…
He stares directly into the camera this time.
Ryan Shane: Baker I don’t know who you think you are but you’re getting in the way of family. I’ve avoided this long enough Baker but you’ve left me no choice. The next time I see you I’m going to make you wish we’ve never met. I don’t know if that will be tonight in the Violence Invitational Gauntlet, or as you’re walking out of a bathroom stall after dropping a deuce. It doesn’t matter because I’ll be ready to show you what Ryan Shane is all about!
The camera cuts away from Shane and to the next part of Chaos.
JC Keeton/”Hungry” Jack Swanson vs. The Dalmons
The camera cuts back to Bridget Lewis-Killings.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Our next match was between The Dalmons and the team of “Hungry” Jack Swanson and JC Keeton. JC and Jack of course lost to Wyldeside after a bit of communication. They seemed to have squashed any hard feelings but was that enough for them to pick up a win? The Dalmons haven’t had things going their way as of late and a win against the two top contenders for the EPIC World Championship could go a long way to fixing that.
The image switches from Bridget in the studio to highlights of the match. JC and Landon started out and Keeton took an early advantage and got a near fall with a Saito suplex. Landon was finally able to turn things around with a low blow while Lizzy distracted the referee. From there Lizzy tagged in and started kicking at the vulnerable Keeton. A double knee strike to the head gets a two count and an irate Lizzy lets the referee have it. Quick tags by the Dalmons and they keep control of the young JC. Lizzy in the ring again and goes for Mixed Drinks (glimmering warlock) but JC dodges it. He looks to capitalize on Lizzy but she scurries to the corner and tags in her brother. From there JC once again takes Landon to school with various suplexes and the prettiest dropkick in the business. This gets a two count and JC looks to put him away. Landon begs off and Lizzy once again gets in the ring to distract the referee. Jack tries to even the odds but the referee isn’t having it. A double team by the Dalmons and Lizzy tags in and goes for a spinning heel kick. JC avoids the move and hits another dropkick. This finally allows him to tag in Hungry Jack. Lizzy sees Jack and tries to run away but he gorilla presses her over his head. Landon gets in the ring and pleads for Swanson not to hurt her. Jack throws Lizzy on top of her brother and they regroup in the corner. Reluctantly Landon agrees to take a beating from Jack. As if looks like it could be over JC tags himself in blindly once again. Jack stalks Landon but Keeton hits Youth in Motion (phenomenal forearm) on the unsuspecting Dalmon. Landon stumbles into Hungry Jack and Dinner is Served (two handed chokebomb) JC makes the cover and picks up the victory for his team at 21 minutes and 7 seconds. After the match JC and Jack look at each other and nod, knowing the next time they are in the ring together it will be for EPIC’s biggest prize.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: A hard fought victory for the team of JC Keeton and “Hungry” Jack Swanson. They were able to put last week behind them and go into REBIRTH on a high. The same can’t be said for Landon and Lizzy Dalmon.
The show feed switches back to the locker room area where we see Moros entering to find his partner for tonight Muru sitting down, getting ready. The young masked man takes a seat next to him and looks over with somewhat of a smile on his face.
Moros: Hey man, I’ve been looking all over for you. I just wanted to check in and see if you’re ready for tonight?
As Muru finishes taping up his wrist he turns to the rookie.
Muru: I'm as ready as I'll ever be. This team we're facing is the real deal. I know in a couple of weeks it's going to be you and I in the ring for the Chaos title, but I'm taking it one match at a time. The bigger question is are you? I saw what happened last week. I know that had to be emotional for you.
The mention of last week causes Moros’ expression to change a bit, his slight smile gone. He takes a moment to collect his thoughts before answering.
Moros: Last week was...heavy, I guess you can call it. But it’s fine, I’m fine. I should have figured something like that would happen eventually…
The young man pauses mid-thought, slightly turning his gaze away, as if hiding the face behind the mask. Letting out a sigh, he continues.
Moros: But... like you, I’m taking it one deal at a time. We have a tough match ahead but I know we can handle them. I’ll be alright.
Muru just nods his head.
Muru: I just want you to know that I'm here for you. If you need to talk or want to vent just say so. As for tonight? I think we'll be ok. I always go all out but I'll try to save a little in the tank for REBIRTH. So I guess I'll see you out there?
Another handshake attempt by Muru. Will Moros finally accept it? The masked man looks over at the hand of Muru, but before it can be shown whether Moros accepted it, the feed switches over.
The Superior Partner
Backstage, Graham Baker walks into view of a camera, his jacket over his shoulder as he begins to speak.
Graham Baker: Ryan Shane, you spineless piece of coward fucking shit, I’m getting sick and tired of you running your mouth about me without feeling any recompense in return. I tried to run my knee through your head last week because I felt you’d deserved it, felt you were getting to a point where you pissed me off enough by challenging my honor, by rejecting my olive branch, by spitting in my face and pretending I wasn’t good enough to stand nose to nose with you.
Baker chuckles, and shakes his head.
Graham Baker: You know what, Shane? I’m getting bored with this, tired of the ‘war with words’ between the two of us, tired of waiting. You want to show JC that you’re so much better than me, that you’re the superior partner, that you’re more talented than I am? That’s fine, man. That’s totally fine-you just need to be ready to prove it.
Baker holds up the Silver Star Championship.
Graham Baker: Like it or not, I’m still champ around these parts. And with that title, comes some more responsibility on my end. I’m calling you out for a match, and, lucky for the two of us, Ana’s already done me a favor and booked the fucking thing. No JC Keeton, nothing but the two of us in the ring getting some anger out, and me kicking some fucking respect into you. I’ll see you when I see you, prick, but you better make it through this Violence Gauntlet alright, because it ain’t the only time the two of us are gonna come face to face.
Baker shoulders his championship, and walks off.
Moros/Muru vs. Wyldeside
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Our next match has future opponents in Muru and Moros teaming up once again to face the duo of Wyldeside. Now last week the two were able to secure the win against Terra and Frank in order to have their match at REBIRTH be for the vacant Chaos Championship but this time around they’ll be facing a more established tandem. Which team will continue to ride the wave of momentum into REBIRTH? We’ll see as we take a look at the match highlights.
The match started off with Moros and Ethan Wylde going at it, trading holds from the lockup, neither man able to get a clear advantage until the younger masked man opted to pick up the pace, and got Wylde down with a trip, taunting him before catching him with a couple deep arm drags, making the tag to Muru shortly after. Fans in attendance were pleasantly surprised at the newer team having several double team maneuvers in their arsenal. However it was just a matter of time before Wyldeside were able to gain control, albeit by using the violence theme to their advantage, goading the less experienced Moros into a chase that ending with him getting rocked by a kendo stick hidden under the ring. Both Wyldes lay into Moros for a bit, getting several nearfalls on him. But when they decided to try and finish things with a tandem chair shot on him, the masked man was able to duck just in time, using what energy he had left to run, bouncing off the ropes before hitting both Ethan and Lucas with a front dropkick, causing the chairs each were holding to hit them right in their faces instead. The end came following the hot tag, Muru wiping out each Wylde at every turn, taking them down with moves such as a Tornado DDT, Kneeling Jawbreaker, Spinning Heel Kicks, and even a double Reverse DDT for a close two count. With Ethan down on the canvas, Muru looks to end things with the Muru Splash, however he gets distracted by what’s going on outside the ring, the larger Lucas, having grabbed a recovering Moros from behind, choking out the young man with a camera cable. Muru decides to leap off to the outside onto Lucas but as the larger Wylde drops Moros in an attempt to try and catch Muru, something happens. Muru tries to check on Moros but the young man is screaming desperately trying to cover up. Muru notices that beside Lucas is Moros’ mask. Muru grabs it and tries to give it to him, but gets caught by the recovered Ethan who nails a baseball slide on Muru. Willing Lucas somewhat back up, Ethan tosses Muru into the ring, the duo then hitting him with the Wylde Ride. Moros does his best to roll in and break up the count while still covering his face but is too late as the brothers score the pinfall victory.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: While it looked like last week was going to repeat itself, Wyldeside were able to take advantage of the situation and get the big win at the 14 minute and 28 second mark. Before they made their way backstage I was able to get a few words with Wydleside.
Blood is thicker than… Blood?
As Wydleside make their way up the ramp Bridget steps out and has a mic in hand and waits for them to get to her position. Once they do Bridget smiles and raises the mic as they return the smile.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Congratulations on the win guys.
Ethan Wylde: Thanks Bridget. We been racking up the wins and it ain’t stopping any time soon.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: That you have, but we heard earlier tonight from our CEO Robert Quinn that you were sent a contract by The Dalmons for a match at REBIRTH. Have you signed the contract?
Before Ethan can answer Lucas steps up to the mic leaning down to accommodate Bridget’s 5’3” height and his 6’5” frame.
Lucas Wydle: Can I ask you a question Bridget?
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Of course.
Lucas Wylde: How did The Dalmon’s do in their match earlier tonight?
Bridget tries not to laugh as she can clearly see where Lucas is headed.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: They lost to JC Keeton and Hungry Jack Swanson.
Lucas Wylde: Really? And they wanna be called "The Greatest Siblings in EPIC". How’d we do against the living legend Jake Keeton’s baby boy and Tons of Fun last week?
Bridget Lewis-Killings: You won but it was….
Lucas cuts her off.
Lucas Wylde: Ain’t no buts to it, we won and they lost, makes no difference how it happened.
Ethan Wylde: What my brother is trying to say in a round about way is that of course we’re gonna sign it. Dad’s got it waiting on us backstage.
Bridget looks a little confused.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Dad?
Lucas Wylde: Yeah that’s what we call B…
Ethan slaps his brother hard.
Ethan Wylde: What the hell is wrong with you? Come on you big idiot.
Lucas just shrugs and he and Ethan walk backstage.
The Final Boss
A replay shows Daniel Dream failing to win back the Violence Championship off a DDT ontop a limo’s roof before showing Daniel tapping out after being locked in Madman’s Heelhook. The scene cuts back to Daniel backstage.
Daniel Dream: After my Violence Championship match with Madman, I was examined by Dr. Ausfhart. I may have sprained my right ankle along with aggravating an old knee injury. I was advised by Dr. Ausfhart to take tonight off. But I’ve had my heart set on winning back the Violence Championship that I should never have lost in the first place. So tonight I will be the final boss in the Violence Gauntlet, a boss rush, that Madman will go through like he's Shovel Knight.
Daniel takes a deep breath.
Daniel Dream: I’m going in with a less than full life bar but Madman has to go through twelve other bosses before me. Madman's life bar and energy bar will be drained, he will be doomed, that's when I will take out his final heart. There will be no wealth worth the heartache he will feel when I eliminate him. The Ultimate Madman will be filled with DESPAIR! Puhuhu. Good luck, doomed hero.
The scene fades to black.
Backstage, Frank Lowe stands by with Bridget Lewis-Killings. Lacey is MIA tonight. Frank is clearly PISSED.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: So, Frank, you and Terra Mason main evented last week and we saw… fireworks.
Frank Lowe: You can say that. OR you can say that you saw that yellow, chickenshit little CHILD lash out at me because she didn’t like that I know what needs to happen to WIN a damn match!
Bridget Lewis-Killings: How did…
Frank Lowe: I wasn’t finished!
Bridget Lewis-Killings: My apologies.
Frank Lowe: Just know your goddamn role, Bridget. ANYWAY AS I WAS SAYING… Terra Mason cost me MY Chaos Championship. She robbed me of the opportunity to beat her ass in the middle of the ring, and you know why?!
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Why?
Frank Lowe: ‘Cause she was scared to lose. She’s a coward, Bridget! She doesn’t have the… she doesn’t have THE BALLS to face Frank Lowe, and if we won that tag match, she would have had nowhere to run or hide from that match!
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Didn’t you refuse to face her?
Frank Lowe: I declined a challenge. Terra dodged a match. Don’t get pedantic with me, Bridget! Terra Mason cost me the biggest opportunity I have had in EPIC, and she’s going to pay for what she owes!
Bridget Lewis-Killings: What… what does that mean? Are you telling us that you’re going to break your vow not to hit a woman?
Frank Lowe: I don’t hit women, Bridget, but don’t you worry your pretty little head, doll. Don’t you sweat it at all. Frank Lowe’s got it alllllllllll under control.
In the background, we hear Terra’s familiar theme music start for her entrance to the Violence Gauntlet. Frank’s face grows a sinister smile.
Frank Lowe: Excuse me, Bridget. That’s my cue…
Bridget Lewis-Killings: What does that mean?
Frank walks off with purpose. Bridget, sensing Frank’s brooding vibes, motions to the camera crew to follow.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Frank? FRANK?!
The camera follows Frank around the corner to Gorilla Position where Terra is about to walk out onto the stage. Terra is facing the curtain and warming up with some jumping and light stretches. She doesn’t see Frank coming, but Frank unloads on Terra and slams her into the wall of the production area.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Frank!
Frank continues his onslaught. He takes a mounted position over Terra’s head and begins to pound her face and head with closed fist punches. Terra is opened up and every punch Frank lands spreads her crimson mask further until she is a complete mess.
Frank Lowe: Terra! You stole my opportunity last week, so I’m stealing yours tonight!
Security pulls Frank off of Terra and Bridget jumps right into his face with the microphone as a medic scurries in to see to Terra.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Frank, you JUST told me you don’t hit women!
Frank looks at her, a menacing far off look in his eye. He doesn’t respond to her. Security stands on alert to ensure Frank’s assault is over. Bridget persists.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Frank!
Frank’s menacing look contorts to a sneer.
Frank Lowe: I told you I don’t hit women. But, Bridget… a BITCH who thinks she belongs in a man’s world? Who steals a man’s opportunity?! That… Nah. That ain’t a woman.
Frank turns back to look at his handiwork. He smiles at the sight of Terra busted open and bleeding.
Frank Lowe: Hey, Terra.
Security gets more aggressive with Frank, trying to move him out of Gorilla Position.
Frank Lowe: Get your damn hands off me. I’m leaving. I’m leaving. But Terra… you should probably get to a ladies’ room and clean yourself up. I think it’s your forehead’s time of the month. HA!
Frank waves off security and leaves Gorilla Position laughing to himself.
Violence Invitational Gauntlet
We return to the studio where Bridget has a look of total disgust on her face.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Ladies and Gentlemen it is now time for the Violence Invitational Gauntlet and as you just saw, Terra Mason will be unable to participate and after his cowardly attack Frank Lowe apparently didn’t see any reason to stick around either. That doesn’t mean that we don’t have plenty of participants left including the current champion, Kyūkyoku no Kyōjin, the man he took the title from “The EPIC Gamer” Daniel Dream, and quite possibly the most beloved superstar in all of EPIC, the first ever Violence Champion El Diablo Blanco who just moments ago was given full medical clearance to compete in this match.
The screen behind her shows clips of all three men in some of their most violent matches.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Those are just the names who have already held the Violence title, there are some heavy hitters outside the Violence division looking to shed a little blood tonight as stars like Drake Connors and Graham Baker who are no stranger to the extreme nature of this division from footage we’ve seen prior to their time in EPIC. Then there’s the 25 year veteran in Onyx who has never held a championship in his career looking to prove something, or what about "The Super Tiger" ☆RISA☆ who took Daniel Dream to his absolute limit during his title reign?
Highlights of Connors, Baker, and Risa are shown while Onyx is just seen running to the bathroom.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: There’s also the dark horses. The arrogant but highly skilled Ryan Shane who is possibly one of the best pure wrestlers EPIC has under contract has gone toe to toe with Robert Quinn’s Advisor of Violence Captain Howdy in the past and came out victorious. There’s also the maniacal Scar who is sure to have Katrina Von Feer in his corner and we’ve seen the levels of violence this wildman can bring. The question surrounding Scar though is how can he be in any shape to compete after the attack last week that we assume was carried out by Eli Hix who also makes his debut in the Gauntlet. So many questions, but it’s time to get the answers as we conclude “A Night of Violence” with the Violence Invitational Gauntlet.
For the final time Bridget turns her attention to the screen behind her and we are taken to the highlights of the match. Madman was out first per his own request and the fans greeted him with an ovation befitting of a champion. His first challenger Nanners did not receive a positive reaction and was quick to let the fans know they should be cheering him but they didn’t listen. Over his shoulder Nanners carried a burlap sack and once he entered the ring and the match was underway he started throwing banana peels all over the mat like a scene straight out of Mario Kart. While Kyu seemed rather amused by this he knew time was not on his side and he needed to get people out of their quick and that he did sending Nanners into the corner after a wild series of hard open hand slaps. He placed the giant banana on the top rope and he faced his back to the crowd before sending them into a frenzy by hitting SON OF FRANKENSTEINER! from the top rope through a table that had been strategically placed at ringside prior to the match along with various other weapons and furniture. Madman pinned Nanners and waited for his next opponent as Bridget does the voice over.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: In 1 minute 4 seconds, Madman eliminates Nanners.
The next entrant was RISA and she took it to Madman right from the start. The tiny Japanese sinsation almost scored what would have been seen as an upset after Super Kicking the champion while his head was resting against the opening up a huge gash above his right eye, Madman was able to kick out however and although he’d lost a good deal of blood was able to counter Meteora by catching Risa and spinning her around for a Death Valley Driver through the seats of two open chairs, picking up his second elimination.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Risa is eliminated in 11 minutes and 19 seconds.
Dashie was out next making her official in ring debut, well not really in ring as she never actually made it to the ring. Madman started up the ramp and she started into a handspring looking for a Headscissors out of it and while the acrobatics of it got the fans on their feet Kyu caught her in mid air and hit a Release German Suplex off the stage through some electrical equipment sending sparks flying. He dove off the stage onto her with an elbow drop pinning her for the elimination.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Madmad scores his third elimination, taking out Dashie in only 24 seconds.
Before Madman could even get up from covering Dashie Onyx came charging at him but Madman picked his ankle and yanked him into Runnin’ On Stumps, his heel hook that he defeated Daniel Dream with. Onyx immediately taps out.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: The impressive run continues as Kyūkyoku no Kyōjin has no eliminated his fourth straight opponent, submitting Onyx in an astonishing 7 seconds.
Madman stood looking down at Onyx holding what appears to be a seriously injured ankle and Dashie still trying to make it to her feet. He slowly starts making his way back towards the ring when “Devil Trigger” by Valiant Hearts began playing. Madman smiled widely as “The Dark Angel” Drake Connors emerged through the curtains with a smile of his own. The two friends hugged as they met on the ramp before they separated and began just beating the shit out of each other and continuing to smile. They had a sword fight with Kendo sticks, played jump rope with a bullwhip, and at one point a pack of firecrackers came into play with Madman trying to drop a lit firecracker down the back of Drake’s trunks. That made his smile go away. The two friends then just went all out beating each other into a bloody mess but the length of the match and having been the one to start things off finally caught up to Kyūkyoku and Connors put him away with The Ring of Cocytus (1916) on the ring apron to advance.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: The champion finally goes down after an all out war with his best friend that lasted 33 minutes and 9 seconds bringing his total time in the match to 46 minutes and 3 seconds but Drake Connors picks up the elimination and we are guaranteed a new champion.
Drake helps Madman to his feet and they embrace again with Connors holding the fallen champion's arm up to a huge pop from the crowd. The moment is interrupted however by the unfamiliar sounds of “Experiment on Me” by Halsey kicks in and the leather clad “Ms. Myrrhder” Jansen Myrrh makes her way down the aisle tossing her jacket off along the way, and sporting a set of brass knuckles on each fist. She wastes no time going after Drake, almost taking his head off with a vicious uppercut with the knucks that splits his chin wide open sending blood into the crowd. The previous encounter with his The Kaiju Crushers comrade appeared to be enough to keep Drake from moving on as the only star from outside of EPIC, Jansen implored a no nonsense mixture of brawling and weapons that seemed perfectly suited for the Violence division. She pulled back the padded mat around the ring and looked for Myrrh-driver (Standing Delayed Piledriver) on the exposed concrete but Drake reversed it and turned it into a Ganso Driver spiking Ms Myrrhder head first into the floor to eliminate her.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Drake Connors survives the only non contracted competitor, a very game “Ms. Myrrhder” Jansen Myrrh, pinning her in an even 21 minutes.
Before Drake can even stand back up completely he’s scooped up on the shoulders of “The Prodigal Son” Dragan Hill who appeared out of nowhere. Hill swings Drake out and spikes him face first into the concrete floor with his Fireman’s Carry into a Diamond Cutter known as Rapture. Although the fans boo his tactics slightly the Violence division is unpredictable and Dragan Hill remains undefeated eliminating Drake Connors.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: In a shocker “The Prodigal Son” Dragan Hill eliminates Drake Connors in 15 seconds, which brings Connors total time in the match to 54 minutes and 21 seconds.
Hill stands over Drake appearing to pray, possibly asking forgiveness for his sneak attack when Celina del Añil runs down to the ring to check on Drake who is completely motionless. Not realizing that Celina is the next competitor in the match Dragan closes his eyes and continues to pray but they pop back open when the young girl thrust her forearm up between his legs. He clucthes his package as she rolls him into the ring. She picks a chair up and slides it in while Hill still tries to recover from the wicked low blow. Celina slides in, brings Dragan to his feet and hits him with Angelic Tribute on to the chair. She covers 1...2...3!
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Celina del Añil hands “The Prodigal Son” Dragan Hill his first loss in EPIC, eliminating him in 2 minutes 37 seconds. These two along with Angelica Ruiz-Meyer will square off at REBIRTH for a shot at the Chaos Championship.
Celina looks ecstatic and surprised that she advanced but the look turns to one of sheer terror as Eli Hix comes walking down the aisle, wearing an untied straightjacket and pulling a cart labeled Brinkman’s Exterminators, filled with cans of insecticide, mouse traps, electronic zappers, and what appears to be a bear trap. Celina swallows hard but doesn’t back down as Hix gets to ringside. As he starts to remove items from the cart and toss them into the ring she scales the top rope and dives off hitting him with a Diving Double Knee Strike. She maintains her momentum by using her clear speed advantage and avoiding his wild and reckless offense as he misses more often than not before finally connecting with a Tope Con Hilo that sends her into the guard rail. From there he sets up a table and covers it with mouse traps before bringing her back to her feet and Power Bombing her through the table covered in mouse traps and pinning her to advance.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: Eli Hix moves on defeating Celina del Añil in 5 minutes 51 seconds.
Medical staff rush out to attend to Celina as she sits up, mouse traps dangling from her ring gear and her hair. “Freak on a Leash” by Korn hits and Scar slowly, apprehensive and alone makes his way towards the ring while Hix fumbles around in the cart he brought out with him. Scar touches the stitches that go from the corners of his mouth nearly to his ears courtesy of Hix. As soon as Scar is close enough Eli sprays him in the face with wasp spray. Scar writhes in agony and Eli seems to enjoy his screams as he digs out the bear trap. At first he looks like he’s going to close the trap on Scar’s head but he won’t be still enough so he chooses his ankle instead placing it in the trap and snapping it shut. He then drags Scar up the ramp by the trap kicking and screaming. A crew of officials run from the back and try to stop Hix but he ignores them and drags Scar through the curtain as one of the officials says something to the referee.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: I don’t even know what to say, that’s the most terrifying human being I’ve ever encountered. It appears both Eli Hix and Scar are eliminated from the match though.
Once the chaos from what just took place dies down the mood completely flips as “What Does The Fox Say?” hits and El Diablo Blanco, carrying a huge jug of Taco Bell Diablo sauce and eating a Flamin Diablo Burrito brings the entire Diablo Nation to their feet. Diablo enters the ring as they chant his name but they quickly turn to boos as Ryan Shane makes his way out wearing a shirt that says “Taco Bell Sucks” to get even more heat. Shane and Diablo square off and wrestle a solid technical match for the first few minutes before El D tries to cut Ryan’s ear off with a pair of hedge clippers. A well placed thumb to eye by the mutli-time champion turns things back in Shane’s favor and saves his ear. Ryan takes his belt off and brutally whips El Diablo drawing the ire of the fans who chant for Taco Bell spokesman. The spirit of the Diable Nation fuels El D and he snatches the belt from Shane and wraps it around his neck before flinging him over the top rope essentially hanging him, Shane has no choice but to tap out or asphyxiate giving El Diablo Blanco the submission victory.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: El Diablo Blanco eliminates Ryan Shane in 8 minutes 40 seconds to advance.
After being freed by a group of referees a dejected Ryan Shane makes his way up the ramp as his opponent for REBIRTH Graham Baker walks past him laughing. As Shane glares at him he finally exits through the curtain but before Baker can get in the ring Shane comes running back out and drives a chair into his lower back causing him to drop to knee and Ryan hits a totally unprotected chair shot turning Baker’s lights clean out. Shane throws the chair down next to Baker and exits for good leaving El Diablo Blanco in the ring looking down at the unconscious Graham Baker. El D slides out of the ring, says “Sorry, Brother!” and pins Baker.
Bridget Lewis-Killings: While it wasn’t how he would have liked El Diablo Blanco has advanced and we’re down to the final two! Both men have held it before but either El Diablo Blanco or “The EPIC Gamer” Daniel Dream is about to become a two time Violence Champion!
Daniel makes his way out to a mixed reaction and he and Blanco go right at it. They go back and forth with neither man gaining the upper hand until Daniel stands a bunch of fluorescent light tubes in the corner and hits Do a Barrel Roll [Cartwheel Death Valley Driver] through them. Somehow Diablo is able to kick out. Later in the match Dream pulled him out onto the apron and hooked El Diablo Blanco's head before leaping off the apron and driving him through a table that was setup at ringside with Pro Gamer Move [Double Underhook Facebuster] which was exactly how he defeated him on the first Chaos to win the title, this time however El Diablo had the power of his little Diablitos behind him and somehow kicked out. Each time Diablo kicked out Daniel became more and more frustrated and that frustration cost him as he didn't notice El Diablo take a big swig of Diablo Sauce. Dream spun Diablo around and the heat of the fiery 350,000 Scoville Heat Units was spit into “The EPIC Gamers” eyes. Momentarily completely blind Daniel walked right into a Roundhouse Kick that dropped him. El D then went up top, pulled another Flamin Diablo Burrito from somewhere hidden in his trunks and took a big bite before leaping of with Feeling Froggy. He hooked to the leg 1...2...3!
Bridget Lewis-Killings: EL DIABLO BLANCO is a TWO TIME Violence Champion! What a match, what a night! We are less than two weeks away from REBIRTH where more history will be made. Goodnight!
El Diablo Blanco is handed the title and he goes out into the crowd to celebrate with The Diablo Nation as Chaos goes off the air.
