The scene opens with a shot of Jayson Price lying on a couch in a therapist's office, staring up at the ceiling as a well dressed middle aged man sits nearby, a look of true concern on his face as he watches Price sip on a glass of whiskey.
Doctor: "Jayson I feel as though we've made some progress so far today, but we still haven't touched on the reason that brought you to me today. Are you avoiding talking about the incident?"
Jayson Price: "Not really all that much to talk about. The whole thing was blown out of proportion if you ask me."
Doctor: "I see. So you wouldn't consider-"
The doctor flips over a few pages of his notes until he comes to what he's looking for.
Doctor: "-being found intoxicated and trying to skinny dip in a mall fountain to be a big deal? Some might call that a cry for help."
Jayson Price: "And I call it a Tuesday afternoon, Doc. Look, it's not my fault that sometimes I like to have a few drinks and let loose."
Doctor: "There's a point when letting loose can go too far, Jayson. And after speaking with some of your colleagues-"
Jayson Price: "Colleagues? The fuck do you mean colleagues?"
Doctor: "Some of those that you work with. I made a few calls after your superiors called to make this appointment so that I could get a better view at the entire picture."
Jayson Price: "Yeah? And what picture are you looking at?"
Doctor: "I see a very troubled man that is too afraid to ask anyone from help. I see a man that drinks to excess to cover up his feelings and refuses to let anyone in. I see-"
Jayson Price: "Let's cut the shit already."
Doctor: "Excuse me?"
Jayson Price: "You want to get inside of my head? Find out what's happening in this brain of mine? I drink because I love to fucking drink. It makes me happy. I don't do it because I need to hide my feelings. I don't need do it because I need help but won't reach out to anyone. And I ]don't do it because every fucking person around me keeps telling me that they want the old me back but I can't be that person anymore. The fuck do they know about what it means to be me? Huh? They think that I don't want to be the old me? They think I like being this drunk that makes a fool of himself? Fuck them. Fuck all of them. This world keeps trying to tell me that I don't belong anymore and I want to belong but I just keep falling on my face. So I drink and then I drink and then I drink some more. I..."
Price downs the rest of his glass and then pours another.
Doctor: "Please, continue, this is what you need. You can't keep drinking yourself into oblivion on a daily basis just to hide your issues. You're going to end up dead and for what?"
Price gets to his feet and raises his glass into the air.
Jayson Price: "One should die proudly when it is no longer possible to live proudly."
Doctor: "Did you just quote Nietzsche? Wait! Hang on, we still have time on the clock and- Jayson! We need to continue here, I don't feel as though you-"
Price slams back the rest of his drink and then walks out of the office as the scene fades to black.
