A blonde woman in a green dress plays the piano, whilst Victoria Richardson and Soldado Fortuna stand just in front of the grand piano
Richardson: I knew this would happen the moment I learned Jim Mud would be in a position of authority. Jim thought he had broken Soldado in their Falls Count Anywhere match, only for him to realise we had outsmarted him.
"So, I guess this is our punishment? Putting Soldado in this brawl under the assumption he won’t be able to handle it? It’s true that Soldado’s style is much like the beautiful sounds emanating from this piano, with carefully choreographed, methodical and deliberate actions that all come together to produce something spectacular. Yes, that style isn’t exactly a perfect fit with a backstage brawl, which I would think is more akin to this..."
The piano player stops, with the sound of loud heavy metal music taking its place. Soldado slowly begins nodding along, which Victoria sees.
"You actually like this shit?"
Soldado simply shrugs as the volume of the music begins to lower
"The two could not be more opposite...but that does not mean Soldado is fucked. He is more than capable of tapping into this more wild and chaotic side of him that will allow him to adapt and thrive in this environment. Who knows, perhaps this might bring out Soldado’s more sadistic side more often, which is not something this roster is going to want. So, thanks Jim...in trying to kill off my client, you may actually awake the monster inside him"
The heavy metal stops and the piano player re-commences
"Now, I could take the easy route and say that CJ Phoenix’s victory last week was a fluke and nothing more than an aberration...but I won’t. I am many things, CJ but one thing I’m not is deluded. You are a talent, CJ, and you beat Soldado fair and square"
Victoria smiles
"Your victory last week has afforded you the opportunity to grandstand about your supposed superiority over Soldado, which I’m certain you will milk for all it’s worth...but you also know that you came this close to being relegated to nothing more than an afterthought looking up at Soldado’s hand being raised as the victor"
"It is not just our desire to avenge last week’s pinfall that will fuel Soldado for this match. See, our problem with you, CJ, is not that you are gunning for the same title as we are, it's the lack of value you place on the Cruiserweight title. This notion of yours of capturing the title for it to merely act as a plaything to lord over the rest of the division like a child refusing to let go of a toy not because they actually want to use it, but merely so others cannot. There is no appreciation for what that title represents and that to us is damn insulting"
"You can mock us all you like for actually placing meaning and value in that title, we don’t really care. After all, this is our narrative, not yours, and our narrative is not one of an individual becoming increasingly jaded to the point where he can no longer see the Cruiserweight title with the honour and prestige associated with it"
"For us, that title is more than just the inevitable reputation boost that winning it brings. More than just the glory that comes with being a champion. More than just the recognition as the finest Cruiserweight on the entire roster and indeed the world. No, that title for us is internal validation, the pinnacle of what reclaiming our freedom has enabled us to achieve"
"We won’t need the luck of the Irish on our side this St Patrick's Day, for we have a bittersweet symphony to play instead: One’s that’s sweet for us...and bitter for you CJ"
