GALA.
“You know, it’s very interesting that I have to be the one to begin the expunging process of removing the liabilities that both Sam Kidsgrove and Downfall all have to Action Wrestling, specifically to the process of Philidor Holdings. Two worthless men on the last legs of their fifteen minutes of fame will finally be thrown out to the black-balling once I become the new Television Champion.”
The beautifully articulated design of a modernized emporium of luxurious amenities revolves around Noris Cranley seated at a table resting above the lowered class peasantries of paparazzi snapping his every moment. The young male model smiles with a smirk of confidence about his upcoming match at Revolution.
“What is this? Is this a match of egos or to prove the star power that my opponent believes they have? Downfall, a name that never was known until he was improvised to become the new Action Wrestling Television Champion, a championship that has eluded me so obviously he has become somewhat confident that he has a chance. Downfall, do you know what it means to be a champion and you cannot lecture me when all you’ve done is defended your belt against supporting cast members to your terrible fairy tale story.
You have absolutely nothing to prove other than being the one who will indefinitely lose the championship in the most humiliating fashion. As many see you as a champion, you’re nothing more than a crutch to the scene; An imitation to what greatness you could never aspire to. You’ve held onto that belt with desperation to stay relevant in the industry but as all terrible things, they must come to an end at the expense of preserving a better choice. That choice is me, a man who has all the resources, the fame, and the glory to be the greatest television champion.
But Sam?”
Noris stands up from his seat and walks over to a podium like setting for a better presentation to his determined audience.
“Sam Kidsgrove, the generation of generations conceiving of amazing accolades not only in Action Wrestling but also in the entertainment industry. The casual old boomer that will revise his best days and use them onto millennials like me downplaying everything I’ve accomplished along with the talent I have. Sam? There’s so much more to this than you know. It’s not just about the fame, it’s the drive to watch you fall from grace knowing your ego will be bruised harder than every pain I’ll extract onto you.
You think I care about your movies, your appearances on primetime cable shows, or what you have done in Action Wrestling? I do. I do care. As a matter of fact, I envy what you’ve done. Who wouldn’t be proud of being a multiple time United States Champion or even center star of Hollywood?
It’s why when your name was inserted, I was extremely happy to be the man to kick your ass out of Hollywood and Action Wrestling faster than being accused on the #MeToo movement. Sam, I don’t respect you as the trifling old movie director who doesn’t know how to adapt to the new markets. You’re not the same wrestler as you thought. You’re spiraling down a path into a deep hole that you can’t recover from since your loss to Howard Black.
Name me one thing that you’ve done which has stood out other than interrupting myself and Downfall inserting yourself into a business that wasn’t yours?
None but as the saying goes, you’re only as relevant as your latest scandal right?”
Once leaving the podium, he crosses through the oceans of paparazzi and reporters to a wall designed to show the portraits of two men: Downfall and Sam Kidsgrove captured in their shining moments in Action Wrestling. Within the right hand of Noris is a device but he stands in front of the portraits with a smile on his face showing his best features to the flashing cameras.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the triple threat match at Revolution in the backyard of the White House could not be a better location or in this case, set for a great spectacle for Noris Cranley. Philidor Holdings has appointed me to be the one to retrieve the television championship back to the most powerful faction in all of the company but to do this, will be a more personal matter on my end.
Downfall and Sam Kidsgrove are two disgusting men who have no idea what it means to do what it takes to gather the resources and strength to be the television champion. A failed actor who cannot reach the depth of his prime again and an extra who managed to sneak his way into the entertainment industry by ripping the television championship away from the honorable hands of Ash Blake.
Both these men are the sheer representation of what happens when the fame has consumed them turning them into puppets on the string that have done terrible stuff on camera without being held accountable. In other words, I will be the one to bring justice by doing what should have been done a long time ago.”
With the press of the button, new portraits unwrap showing the pictures of both men in their worst times with black tape sliced down the middle of their pictures to the dismay of the audience. An arrogant chuckle evolved into a maniacal laugh as Noris’s voice booms across the entire hall.
“This is what’s going to happen. Sam Kidsgrove and Downfall are going to witness history as Noris Cranley becomes the new television champion then dominates anyone who stands in his way. These men don’t deserve to be in my spotlight and will never amount to the talent I have. I will prove I am better than then combined so my final words, to Downfall and Sam Kidsgrove, enjoy your final curtain call because now you’re both…”
