The following video footage was submitted to the Action Wrestling Front Office via an encrypted thumb drive, delivered via UPS with no return information. After reviewing the footage, the front office decided to upload it to the Network.
On the black and white, grainy, security camera style footage we make out two familiar figures: Nikki Venus and WALTER in an unknown interior. Walter is kneeling, shirtless; his torso lacking the scars from his most recent wars with James Nightingale; there is no World Title in view. Nikki’s hair is not the blonde we’ve seen in her most recent appearances with Corey Black but instead the traditional black mane. Nikki circles around the kneeling champion, hips a smooth, sensual pendulum, no hint of the limp that now afflicts her.
Her lips part but we hear the same soft, static buzz that permeates the footage. Walter nods. Nikki glides to a small table nearby and we're able to recognize a pair of items: a small book and an ornate dagger. Heretofore unseen is a chalice that she submerges her thumb into as she opens the book. Upon removal, a viscous liquid drips from her thumb which she presses into a page of the book. She turns to face Walter whose eyes shut slowly.
She clutches the dagger and approaches the Beast; his chest heaves as he inhales deep when she’s close. Nikki runs the blade slowly across his forehead, the blood beads down his brow. Walter smiles. She sweeps the blood onto her clean thumb and turns back to her book. A page is turned and she presses Walters blood into the fresh page. Venus pauses a moment before the final sacrament. She presses her thumb bloodied from the chalice into the seeping wound of Man Evolved.
A beat.
No convulsions. No arched backs. No guttural bellows.
Her mouth moves again and Walter shakes his head; Nikki turns back to the book, we can just make out her expression mixed of confusion and annoyance. Walter humors her another few moments while she attempts to explain. The smile has faded from his face and his eyes have popped open. He looks not angry but dissatisfied. He stands and calmly retrieves his neatly folded shirt and glasses from the corner of the room. The Man Evolved buttons his shirt slowly, back to the camera.
Without Walter seeing, Nikki looks directly into the frame and shakes her head with a bemused shrug. The feed cuts.
