Bouncing Back
The taste of defeat was still very much so fresh in her mouth, as she sat in the backstage area. It was supposed to be a great night for her, one that would start off her run in Action Wrestling with a bang. It would have meant that she was here and ready to really make a run at the top but in three quick seconds, all that vanished for her. Her undefeated record, her sense of invincibility she was starting to gain, and mostly her chance at starting at the top here in Action. Sure there were people that were saying she had a great performance, sure Shadowlove was not a slouch and sure he did have to cheat in the end to get the victory. But none of that made her feel any better as instead of going out to celebrate, she was sitting in the backstage forced to swallow this loss bitterly. She had talked a big game to Shadowlove, she had talked a big game to the fans, and now she was having to eat crow. For the first time in her career she actually had to experience doubt, maybe she did get into this too late. Maybe she was being a bit of a fool to think that she could athletically keep up with men and women much younger and in the case of most men, much bigger. That doubt had to creep into her head now and she had the choice to let it get her down, or to ignore it and power through it. And she knew that there was really only one choice.
As she stood up and dusted herself off, only now coming to the realization she was sitting on the disgusting locker room floors of an arena. Angry with herself she went to wash her hands, looking at herself in the mirror. A couple tears having since dried up as she took a deep breath and looked herself over.
Brooke Bell
“You are still a bad bitch.”
With those simple words she regained her confidence, pushing away to dry off her hands walking off as she gets ready to bounce back from her first defeat. Determined not to let this one loss be anything more than a fluke. Determined to show that this loss was going to just be a blimp in her history when everything was all said and done. No matter who, no matter what there was no way she was going to let herself fall to 0-2 here in Action Wrestling.

Tiana Bell
“She is a like a younger version of you...”
Hearing her daughter say what she knew many other fans were going to be thinking only made it worse. Walking out of her bedroom only to be met with her daughter’s voice coming from the couch. Deep into texting as Brooke shook her head.
Brooke Bell
“We having nothing in common...”
Without either even saying the name they both knew who the other was talking about, dismissing the notion quickly as Tiana her daughter gave a long pause.
Tiana Bell
“Well I mean you like fashion, she is very fashionable. You are both from New York. You are both divas yet can get a little hood at times. I meannnnnnnn I guess she is just like half your age though.”
Shuffling through her things trying to pretend that these comparisons don’t annoy her, having laid out a dress on the table to wear. Really looking over it extra even if she didn’t want to admit it, she was doing her best to pick out something that Camila couldn’t top.
Brooke Bell
“Listen on the surface maybe but at the end of the day I am better than her and I’ll prove it. Cause you want to know the difference between us Tiana? The difference is that little miss prissy was born in Manhattan, probably in some big loft. I was born in the streets, I was born in Brooklyn. My momma named me after that city. So the difference between us is that she isn’t grateful for what she has. These high quality dresses I work to buy? I earned them. She was born into hers. She was born into being the little greedy “diva” that she is. She calls herself a goddess but even at my age, men would much rather be with me than her. Why? Cause she isn’t a good person, she isn’t a nice person. I may be full of myself but she’s just a bitch. And they may say we are similar, she’ll probably call me old. But last week she got a big taste of what it feels like not to get her way. She lost in the tournament for the belt, she lost in the contender match. She thinks she is hot shit but in reality she is all talk. And if she calls me old and decides not to respect her elders? Well this elder will be standing over her laughing when I am done with her...”
Sitting up now with a chuckle is Tiana, having found her mother spazzing out at the mention of Camila to be funny.
Tiana Bell
“I was just messin’ mom. I know you are going to kick her ass.”
Brooke Bell
“Watch your mouth...”
Tiana Bell:
“But you just---”
Brooke Bell
“It doesn’t matter what I just did, now don’t you got some homework to do?”
Her usual go to get her kids out of the way long enough for her to have some alone time. Tiana rolls her eyes heading to her room, to at least pretend like she was going to do some homework. Having the chance now to take a glance at the dress, smirking feeling happy with what she’s got but not wanting to reveal it just yet. Ready mentally to go after her opponent’s now, but more so just ready to get back on track.
---------------------
Two chairs are set up next to one another, a full production appearing to be set up for an interview. The loud sound of heels now enters the fray as walking in wearing a red Adidas jumpsuit with matching red pumps is Brooke Bell looking a bit frustrated as she paces back and forth.
Brooke Bell
“What do you mean Shia is running late?! I am here on time, I am here ready to go. I don’t have all day for this so he better get here soon.”
The poor person on staff that is getting the tongue lashing walks over nervously, faced with both having to deal with Shia on a daily basis. And dealing with a now upset Brooke Bell as well.
Staff
“Listen Shia can be a bit of a wild card at times. Did you hear that Kanye raided his closet?”
Trying to make small talk and stall but Brooke isn’t having it at all.
Brooke Bell
“I don’t have time for this, run the camera I’ll do it myself. I don’t need Shia to ask me any silly questions I already know what they are going to ask. Roll the camera.”
Looking over at the door one last time the staff member hopes to see Shia come in just at the knick of time. But this isn’t a Transformers this is real life and Shia is anything but the regular guy he portrays in films. Walking back allowing Brooke to slouch into the chair on the left, crossing her legs as she waits for them to give her the heads up. When they do she starts things right away.
Brooke Bell
“I am sure the first question on everyone’s mind is going to be, how did that first loss feel Brooke?”
Struggling with having to admit the fact she lost out loud but doing her best to pretend it doesn’t still sting.
Brooke Bell
“First of all I only lost because Shadowlove cheated, which I can’t blame him for. I would have done the same thing if I was as desperate as him. But all my wins? They have been fair and in the middle of the ring. I may not mind bending the rules but I haven’t needed to. And I know that Shadowlove is going to love rubbing this in my face like he does his tighty whities in all of our faces on a weekly basis. But at the end of the day, flukes happen. Luck happens. And I know that I can beat Shadowlove. Maybe it was the nerves of a new spot, maybe it was the nerves of my first match that actually went past a minutes with a man. Either way I let one slip through my fingers and it stings and it hurts. But one loss isn’t going to stop me in my career because I know it’s going to be my last loss for a very, very long time. You may all have given up on me due to this loss, you may think I am not a true talent. That’s fine but those that saw me in my former company know the truth. And I plan on making all these fans very, very aware of how good I truly am on the next show. Losses happen but I won’t let it get me down, I am going to get right back up and continue.”
Taking a deep breath finally able to put that loss behind her for good with that question and move forward to the future now.
Brooke Bell
“So I go from a good old fashioned one on one match to a tag team match. And I may not have a long history of tag team matches. But I am undefeated in them. I have never lost. And when I had my match I found myself in the opposite situation as I was last time. Last time it was me teaming with a girl that I didn’t much like. I wasn’t fond of the idea of teaming with her, I didn’t like the idea of trusting her. And in the end? She did her best to try to screw me. But yet we still won. We just didn’t get along though. The two girls I am facing this week? They genuinely seem to hate one another. You got salt and pepper. You got the blue collar girl versus the princess herself. They have been going back and forth, with Lisa taking the loss one on one. Camila throwing shade her way on Twitter right after. Simply put neither of them like one another in the slightest which I must admit is very, very good for me. And very, very bad for them. They can try and pretend that it isn’t going to get in the way all they want. But they are yin and yang and while that may look pretty in art form, in reality? It doesn’t work out. Just like it isn’t going to work for Lisa and Camila in this match. They will try but they both get on each other’s nerves so much that it’s clear that at some point things will go wrong. And when they do we’ll be there to capitalize and get this W.”
Holding up her fingers into the shape of a ‘W’ as she brings up the obvious discourse between her opponents coming into the match.
Brooke Bell
“Now Camila it’s clear you think your big and bad. And even though you keep falling short at the belt you so wrongly consider to be yours. You still don’t seem to have it through your head yet that you aren’t quite as great as you think you are. Last week’s loss didn’t do it. I am sure when I beat you this week you’ll blame Lisa and not change. But sooner or later all these losses are going to add up and you’ll realize that you just aren’t as good as you hoped you were in your head. As for you Lisa? I was looking forward to facing you back in New Blood before it went under, so now we finally get to have a match. In New Blood? I was going to rip you piece by piece in that match....”
Brooke shakes her head almost disgusting herself with what she would have done to Lisa had they actually had their scheduled match.
Brooke Bell
“In fact it didn’t seem like you were even planning to show up, seemed to me you were tucking your tail and running. But we’ll never know now will we? Because you got saved by the bell. But good things come to those who wait and I waited and now I get my chance to take you out. If this was softball, volleyball, or a hundred meter dash. I might be scared of you, I can admit you are a big freak of an athlete. But this isn’t any of those sports this is wrestling, this is fighting. Which means just being the best athlete isn’t enough you got to be a lot more than that. And you aren’t smarter than me and you aren’t more talented than me. So at the end of the day you will join your old rival Camila face down on the mat looking up at your girl Brooke Bell the VICTOR. Being some hard working great athlete will only get you so far. Against me? It won’t be far at all. In a match with a weirdo that thinks he is a deity and a girl that thinks she is a Goddess. I can at least say that you are normal. Though not sure that will help you much in the end.”
Stopping herself there, seeming to be coming to grips with the fact that even with her opponent’s hating each other, her partner was just as much of a wild card.
Brooke Bell
“As much as I think we should have a advantage being that Lisa and Camila hate each other so much. The one issue is I am teaming with Dionysus. Now I won’t pretend to know a thing about God’s and deities. That wasn’t exactly a class I had where I grew up. But apparently it was wherever he grew up. I came from a promotion with some weirdo’s so this isn’t some big stretch for me. But some sort of gladiator fighter, who worships some God I’ve never heard of is my team mate. I mean he looks scary, he looks like he should be a fighter. But I won’t pretend to know much about him. However I am sure that we both have the same goal in mind, go into this match and walk out as victors. He is a fighter, I am a fighter. I may think that he is a bit out there. But I think we are in a lot better position than Lisa and Camila. Somehow Camila has a bigger ego than the guy that thinks he is a literal God...”
Brooke laughs at that realization, seeming hopeful but a bit timid in her confidence with her tag team partner.
Brooke Bell
“Either way Dionysus all I want from you is to give your best. I am going to bring my best and we are going to get this win. Cause I can tell you this right now I am NOT losing two in a row. And if you are the reason that I do end up taking two losses in a row, know that the other God’s aren’t going to be your way. You’ll have the deity of kicking ass, me on you in a hurry. So you do whatever you got to do, bring your shield. Just follow my lead, and we’ll get the job done. I know for a fact that I am better than Camila and Lisa. Which means it is up to you to hold up your end of the bargain. So let’s go out there and get this done Dionysus. If we win? I’ll even send up a prayer to whatever God you like. All I know that there is no way I am walking out of this arena with a loss. NO CHANCE!”
At this point nobody has even remembered that Shia was supposed to be here for the interview, having turned into Brooke getting things off her chest in a hurry.
Brooke Bell
“I fell short against Shadowlove, and it will hurt. If you think I am going all the way to this boring ass Utah to not beat these two girls butts you got another thing coming. I enjoy humbling girls, it’s become my favorite past time. I don’t care if they work together or if they try to tear each other apart. I don’t care if Dionysus helps or if he sits in the corner slapping his shield the whole time. I don’t care about any of that all I care about is a win and I won’t stop until I get it. So Dionysus bring your A-Game. And girls? You bring yours as well. I don’t want any excuses when I take both of you out. My first match was a teaser and a warm up, it’s time that I show this company what Brooke Bell is really capable of.”
Sitting up now walking towards the exit to head out, as she does though Shia walks into the door looking deshelved. He is about to open his mouth to say hi to Brooke despite being hours late. But she pushes his head on her way out of the building and onto her next chance at a first win here in Action Wrestling.
The taste of defeat was still very much so fresh in her mouth, as she sat in the backstage area.
