Bio: Walter is a disturbed man, obsessed and enticed by violence and perversion. His surname is unknown at this time and his background is unclear; he’s offered a variety of different stories to anyone within earshot. He calls himself “Man Evolved” and claims to be mankind’s next step, justifying his penchant for violence as a herd-culling means to a fittest-survived end.
Loretta Bennett is an ex-government employee who was previously tasked by a strange man to keep Walter's proclivities confined to the squared circle. She was granted a sabbatical by to be with her ailing child as a reward for going against her nature and helping him win the Wrestler of the Year Tournament.
(The beginning of Walter's story is here:First Depressions and The Equality of All Men)
After the WOTY tournament, Etta's place as handler was taken up by Nikki Venus. Nikki managed Corey Black on-and-off in the WCF prior to this but hadn't been seen for some time until she turned up as a friend and confidant to Etta. Nikki seemed far less interested in "controlling" Walter than she was in "unleashing" him.
The way Walter had been kept in check to this point was via a small remote-like device that keeps Walter from indulging in his most base desires. When engaged, the device will incapacitate the Beast in response to certain physiological indicators.
(Details on that are here: Survival)
Walter surprisingly struck up a romance with Alyssa Payton, the sister of promising Action Wrestling prospect Roger Payton whose career Walter ended. There was a moment where their relationship almost came to a violent end but Payton revealed that she was pregnant and Walter spared her. That story is here: The Cancer of Action Wrestling. That same week, Walter beat Frank Patrick Venable for the World Title and his #Putdownthemongrel movement ended in failure.
Walter would not hold onto the title long, losing to a highly motivated Odin Balfore a month later. Odin believes Walter killed Gunnar Balfore, Odin's father and has promised to do the same to Walter. Another short month later, Frank Patrick Venable would redeem himself and defeat both the All Father and the Evolved Man.
At that point Walter disappeared from active competition despite constantly being called out by then-Hardcore Champ Corey Black. The Beast ignored the King of Wrestlers until Rush where Walter celebrated FPV's victory by spiking all of the Man Made Gods with Cullings under the false guise of mercenary work for Wayne Austin. At XIII, the Beast was again set to attack an already-downed Black but instead, the fans blocked the ramp with weapons in-hand playing meat shield for the King of Wrestlers. Before Walter could turn them inside out, Nikki Venus called him off.
Re-emerging just before Havoc III, it appeared Walter had forged some type of life with Alyssa and now has committed himself anew to rebuilding Action Wrestling for The Heir. (Be Reborn) Etta too appears to have been "reborn" and suddenly has little interest in "playing conscience" to Walter. At Havoc, Walter was nearly taken out completely by Corey Black but the Man Evolved would recover and win Action Wrestling's biggest event. Etta nd Walter's ruthless momentum carried them to a World Title win over Alex Richards at Evolution III.
James Nightingale was named number one contender and the two began a three-month blood feud that would see Gravedigger and Etta each assaulted, James' estranged family visited by Walter, Walter's heir held by James, vast amounts of Action Wrestling property destroyed, and a culmination in Digger's Dungeon Execution Cage Match. After escaping with a draw at Chaos, Walter absorbed an inhumane amount of punishment and overcame Nightingale and the Lost Breed at Execution.
Over the period of that feud, Walter found out Alyssa Payton had been meeting with her brother Roger. Infuriated by her betrayal, the Man Evolved subdued her in a shipping container while Walter continued to compete with Action Wrestling. After Execution, we saw security footage of the entity Creeping Death failing to take over Walter when it was put upon by Nikki Venus. We also learned in Hold fast, that harpoon that Etta holds Nikki and Creeping Death responsible for the death of her son. Etta put a bullet in Venus' leg but sought greater retribution at Clash 100 where she thought Creeping Death would be facing Walter. Instead, it was Corey Black himself defeating Walter in an epic battle.
Attire: Walter wears decidedly uninteresting, unremarkable clothing. He doesn't dress for wrestling as he believes there's no proper uniform for violence: it can be undertaken anywhere at anytime. Wearing his street clothes to the ring, he's usually in a pair of jeans topped with a simple button up shirt and a jean jacket. The jacket, shirt, and his round, undersized glasses are all calmly and ceremoniously removed and folded neatly into a corner before every match.
Theme song: "Electric Worry" by Clutch
Pic Base: Walter is an olive-skinned man with a distractingly outdated bowl cut and small round glasses. His hulking body seems to have swallowed up his neck. His hands are striking when you see him, even at 6’7” they seem oversized, almost inhumanly long and thick, off puttingly muscular. Nearest picbase is somewhere between Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men and David Bautista in Blade Runner 2049.
Entrance:
The southern-twanged opening riff of “Electric Worry” reverberates through the arena as the crowd rises to their feet, hissing and booing with every ounce of their beings. The lyrics kick in and out steps Etta Bennett at "You made me leave my happy home," eyes empty and gait full of purpose. She's alone until the drum fills and the lyrics belt:
The mammoth Walter emerges from behind the curtain and the crowd intensifies its hate. Walter strides behind Etta, eyes fixed on the ring, as she leads the Beast down the ramp. Four loud pyros thunder from the stage timed with the theme's "Bang, bang, bang, bang!"
Adilene Floyd: Entering the ring at this time...Standing six foot, seven inches tall and weighing 340 pounds...
being accompanied by Etta Bennett....
He is the MAN EVOLVED....
that they call THE MONGREL...
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALTER!
Walter ascends the stairs slowly and then steps gingerly through the ropes, lumbering over to Adilene who backs to a corner quickly. Walter calmly unbuttons his shirt, removes it and folds it before placing it under the bottom turnbuckle in the corner. Man Evolved then takes his tiny round spectacles off and places them on top of the folded shirt. The barrel-chested beast glances toward Etta who snarls back. With his Device disengaged, he extends his arms in either direction, massive palms turned up to the sky, and bellows toward the rafters in anticipation of the violence to come.
Favorite moves (at least 15 moves):
Walter lacks grace and style in his “wrestling” and is generally looking for the most violence and pain he can enact upon his opponent.
Striking:
Elbows
Ear clap
Headbutt
Open-hand slaps and backhands
Bites
thumb to the eye
Corner:
Overhand chest slaps
Running body smash into corner
Shoulders into midsection
Grinding/choking opponent over the top rope
Submissions:
Nerve pinch
Any manner of chokes legal or otherwise
The claw
Two handed, skull crushing lift with thumbs in the eyes (ala the way the Mountain killed the Viper in Game of Thrones, ya nerd)
General:
Two handed choke lift and slam
Delayed throws and suplexes - Gutwrench, belly to belly, belly to back. Any suplex that is mostly a throw and less of a wrestling move.
Running power slam
Spinebuster (farooq-style)
Back body drop (esp over the top rope where he can chase them outside and enact more violence)
Signature move(s):
The Scythe - from Walter’s frequently used one handed-claw he pulls the opponent in for a near decapitation via clothesline (a short arm clothesline where the opponent is pulled in by the head instead of the arm)
The Gallows - a jackknife powerbomb
Finisher(s):
Mark of the Beast - a hard, swift, heart-stopping haymaker right hand. It can be thrown out of nowhere or with a slow, decisive set up, pinning the opponent’s arm up and behind their head.
Culling - a high-angle chokeslam where Walter’s off-hand is used to sweep the opponent’s hips up, landing the opponent not on his back but on the back of his head
The Great Mystery - a cobra clutch/million dollar dream choke where Walter will ragdoll a smaller opponent about, lifting their feet from the ground. In the (rare) case of a larger opponent, he will even jump on them and lock in a body triangle to accompany it. Walter isn't looking for a submission but to choke them out and leave them near lifeless.
