So today is the big day! Havoc! And the Havoc live chat! Torture and myself wanted to make some announcements and reminders. These will be repeated in the chat as well.
During the show, we encourage you all to interact with the show. When results are being posted, you are not expected to be silent, we want you to interact! Some of you were in last year's chat or live chats for other feds and so you know how awesome the chats are. Sometimes they're just as awesome as the show itself!
We want you to mark out. We want you to cheer, we want you to boo! We want you to react to the results just like you were if you were there in person or watching it on TV!
However, what we don't want people to do is to go overboard in their reactions to events in the show, especially the Rumble. You'll witness characters you like or characters of your friends or even your own character getting eliminated. We do not want people going overboard in getting mad about the elimination(s). Just like with you and your character(s), there are real people behind them. You may not like who gets eliminated or who eliminated them, but attacks on decisions and handlers will not be tolerated.
A couple of years ago, I was in a similar match with a live chat and my character got second place. Majority of the people in the chat were convinced my character would win and the chat got a little ugly and out of hand in response and it shouldn't have. That is not what Action Wrestling is about and not the type of response we expect from our handlers.
Finally, if your character is eliminated from the Rumble and not the one who wins it, we don't want you to take the elimination to heart. Any characters eliminated are not handed a loss. This is an over the top battle royal. Your character will not be pinned or submitted to be eliminated. Your character would just simply not win the match.
Only one person can win the match and it doesn't mean ANYTHING bad about your character or you as a writer. Your elimination or even HOW you're eliminated is not indicative of how we feel about your character or you as a writer. Some of you won't last long. Some of you may get zero eliminations. Some of you may not like who eliminates you or how you were eliminated. Most of you likely won't agree with all the decisions we make.
People have to be eliminated. There's not enough people for every single person who tried their hardest to get a bunch of eliminations or in some cases get any eliminations at all. You should look at your elimination as a way to further your character's story. If you're eliminated, look at who you were eliminated by and think about if you can start a feud with the person (assuming they don't already have one) and contact them about it. Look at the people you eliminated before you were eliminated. Can you start a story with them? If so, contact them!
One more pointer. If you don't win Havoc, don't necessarily look at your roleplay and ask what you could have done better. Oftentimes your loss isn't because you could have done something better, it may just be because your opponent did better. As writers we always have room for improvement, but a loss isn't necessarily a negative look at your character and your writing, the winner is often chosen because they did something better.
