"History always repeats itself. No matter how much you try to fight it, it will happen. The inevitable science can never be explained. L Verez. A child seeking attention waving her championship she deems worthy at her standards. If only she knew how much more of a threat if she let go of the past holding her back, I will have the honor of doing that myself. No Guardians will come to save her this time."
The mood of the night was soft, mysterious and arguably the worst of all times. The graveyard shift is what they call it and the sound of a shovel hitting the dirt overpowered the howls of wolves. Under the moonlight was a man cloaked under the darkness of his black hoodie burying his shovel deep into the soil and ripping nature's floor out of the surface.
"Live to fight another day huh'? My match against Casey Holliday taught me a lot of things and it's the same lesson I'll teach you L. I've missed you. I've missed our short times together in UCI but you were there when it all happened. You saw when I was left alone by The Guardians to fend for myself and claw through hell to stay alive to be there for my children. You saw how joining the famous group of extraordinary individuals such as yourself created a sudden disruption in my natural essence which forced me to do the one thing I swore never to do.
Betrayal.
Betrayal to The Guardians to save my own skin which led me to this day right here. I thought you would be able to understand but as usual, your emotions get the better of you. You can never see what you don't understand which is why it was clear to me when you were so volatile from our conversation in the locker room minutes before your match against Casey Holliday."
The rusty metal of the shovel impacted on the wooden casket buried six deep inches. Andre lifted his head up, tucked his chin and wiped the sweat off his forehead. He flicked the sweat off his hands then jumped down into the hole leaving the shovel on the side.
"You don't know how to evolve L. It's very ironic that given your physical state, you've evolved to be the most powerful creature in the universe. Hell, I even believe you're stronger than Bonnie Blue but why is that with your abilities and powers, you've never tasted the chance of being a world champion? How does it feel to know that everyone from The Guardians has at least been at the top...except for you?"
Andre bent forward and ripped the casket door off the metal hinges. The wooden top was thrown aside and inside the casket was something he hasn't seen in years. The old Guardian shirt, and the UCI Championship belt in both of his hands. Memories flooding his mind; Past memories of his glory does. His hazel colored eyes even glanced towards the crumpled picture of The Guardians in their old base in Chicago celebrating a drink together.
"You don't believe in yourself. All that power and gifts you have? Worthless. You are afraid to take control and become the leader. Everyone you loved has left you behind for the greater good and while you pretend to take charge, you lead nothing but old memories and forgotten times. L. You're not a champion. You're weak. I told you to finally break free of your chains you locked yourself in against Casey Holliday and you absolutely blew it.
Now? I'm going to show you. Those who can't hear must feel. Bury that L. Bury it deep inside and rid of it. Destroy the old L. I want the brand new one. The one who shows no fear. The L that will do whatever it takes to win and ensure nothing gets in her way. You are just a pawn in everyone else's game. As much as you want to convince yourself you're something more, you've never crossed the other side to be a Queen."
Andre lifted himself out of the hole and stood tall. He watched as the items in his hand fell back into the casket and stared to the tombstone marked 'Guardians' written across. He smirked and walked down the aisle with one final thought.
"Everyone's moved on L. Maybe it's time you do the same."
