Part 1: Endurance
(2/4/19)
Kemp: They have to be joking, right?
Lincoln: I knew this was going to happen, but it doesn’t make it any less aggravating.
Kemp and Link sat slouched on the bench in front of their lockers, a similar look of frustration plastered across their faces.
Lincoln: How? They won WarGames. What’s done is done.
Spencer: We’re still here, that’s why. #BeachKrew can’t live with challengers. Even if the war is over, #FightSmart is still standing and that eats them up inside. That’s the reason for trying to pit you two against each other and that racist bullshit they’re expecting me and Andre to compete in.
Kemp: What’s the plan then?
Spencer: We don’t have to do shit. They’re in charge of booking the show, not enforcing roster rulings. What happens if neither of our matches happen? Nothing. There’s not a damn thing they can do to touch the status of our contracts or our alliance.
Lincoln: We better suit up then, because you know they’re going to come for us if we throw a wrench in their booking plans.
Spencer: Let them do their worst. Let #BeachKrew come at us with all they’ve got, it hasn’t stopped us before. The long game will always win. February 24th, write down the date. We have a rager to crash.
Part 2: Chemistry
(2/18/19)
Spencer: I know this is a test. AW management wants to see how #FightSmart is feeling after what down at WarGames, they want to see if there are fatal cracks or if we’ll be able to rebound. We’re still hours away from this week’s tag match, but I don’t need that moment to give them their answer. Action Wrestling is a year old and #FightSmart isn’t far behind it in reaching that milestone. Our brand has housed the company’s top championship as well as its tag and television titles. The way I see it, both AW’s anniversary and this week’s match serve as a celebration of Action Wrestling’s most time tested stable.
Every single time that someone steps to #FightSmart, we’ve given them the work. We provide top competition and five star matches week after week, so a trio of puddle jumper-wearing prospects mean nothing. There’s absolutely nothing that Dark Tiger, Rose, or Anton Chase can do that poses a legitimate threat to us. We’re here to swim laps around what amounts to a trio of mouthy toddlers. That booking committee has to be more careful really, they’ve put under qualified competition at serious risk for career suicide.
I can respect the spunk, but I’m not here to sugar coat the situation. This would be the biggest win of their careers and that means they’ll come at it with everything they’ve got, but that’s not saying much. Aside from Anton Chase’s infamously short lived and disappointing UCI title reign, our opponents’ list of accomplishments leave a lot to be desired. That short lived time Anton spent holding a world championship proved to be an undeniable fluke. Not that losing to Casey Holliday is anything to beat yourself up about. There are a lot of other people who would’ve lost that match as well, but there’s just something so..unimpressive about it.
Anton Chase is the man that Action Wrestling forgot about, so much so that Action Wrestling showed no real desire to give him a rematch. Upsetting an uninspired Bonnie Blue isn’t something you luck into everyday, especially when you’re Anton Chase. Picking up an upset win over a focused #FightSmart? Forget about it. I think it’s in Anton’s best interest to run as far away from the Boring Bank Arena as possible and cross his fingers for a singles match against Boobie Jackson Jr. at the PPV.
It does get worse than Anton Chase though and Dark Tiger is proof of that. The short lived success of Anton Chase is a head scratcher for sure, but Dark Tiger is someone who has failed to appear on the radar at all. Jaice Wilds goofy cousin would be wise to ask for his official release immediately. If you can’t get it done with 300 pounds and the height of an NBA center at your disposal, than it’s hard to believe that anything can help you find long term success in the biggest promotion in the sport today.
As for Rose, I have a fair bit of respect for her consistent determination, reminds me of a rookie Spencer Adams. The difference between us is an ability to adapt. Rose is an optimistic Karlie Nash who like Karlie, finds herself in the same situation no matter how loud her battle cry becomes. She’s the type of person who needs so badly to be able to break down her failing approaches and shortcomings, but doesn’t know how to employ the sort of constructive self criticism that turns desire into results. I’ve been in that spot and while Rose is at an even greater disadvantage due to a lack of teammates who will make her better, she has an opportunity here, an opportunity to learn from this inevitable loss to Action Wrestling’s longest standing stable. We are the mentors, I just hope Rose knows how to pay attention...and for anyone out there who thought WarGames meant the end of us, I want you all to know that what happens next is because of you.
