Blood
A few moments after Slam has gone off the air and Kyle Kemp is walking into the other members of #FightSmart and Torture. Spencer, Kuechly and Torture are smiling and slapping each other on the back, ecstatic that the odds are once again even. Excited at the fact that all will have a chance to exact some revenge on #BeachKrew in the War Games match but Kemp continues to walk at a brisk pace, clearly outpacing the others. Kemp turns the corner ahead of them, desperate to get away. This is no time for Kemp to celebrate. Instead it’s a time where the anger, stress and frustration are forcing their way into his brain. Emotions that he has tried to turn off over the past few weeks.
Kemp throws open the door that has “Employees Only” written on it and slides inside before the others round the corner. He leans against the door on the other side and takes a deep breath. Kemp takes a deep breath and we see that his hands are shaking. Not a shake of rage but a shake of anxiety rising out of him. Kemp continues to breathe deeply, hoping for his heart to slow down. He clenches his fists and tucks them into his chest and just when you think he is going to be able to calm down, he notices the blood. The blood of a random jobber or perhaps a member of #BeachKrew is he was lucky on his right hand. He knew he threw a good right hand at some point in the fracas but apparently he connected better than he thought.
He clenches his teeth and the shaking gets more and more prevalent throughout his body until he lets out a scream. A violent scream that causes his whole body to shake. The emotions of the past month are coming out. He finally stops screaming and he hears someone knocking on the other side of the door.
Kemp turns and locks the door before whoever is knocking opens it. He slides down and sits on the floor, leaning against the door and looking at his right hand. Just staring at the blood stain on his hand and staring. He looks at it and while some might think it’s because he doesn’t want the blood stain there or that he doesn’t want to have a freak out like this but the truth of the matter is that he is staring at it for a worse reason. A reason that should have the other members of the Action Wrestling and the world very scared. He’s staring at it longing for more. More spilled blood. More aggression. More pain. It’s the only way that will make him feel better. We leave Kemp staring at his hand and the knocking of the door continuing as he just stares at his hand.
A New Home
It is the next day and Kyle Kemp is driving his new pickup truck up the winding road towards his new home. He traded in his car for a 2012 Ford F-150 and some cash. Needless to say his car was worth a lot more than this hunk of junk but he doesn’t need fancy things anymore and he used the extra cash to help pay for this house. The house begins to come into view and while most would look at the house and say “oh….” it makes Kemp smile. This house is his new safe zone.
The house is one level with faded and chipped yellow paint. The windows have cream trim that is also fading and chipped. There’s a generic mailbox at the end of the driveway which is all gravel. No garage and really no amenities. There’s snow everywhere but only a couple inches. Kemp parks the truck and climbs out.
Kemp is dressed in dark blue jeans with a gray t-shirt and a plaid fleece flannel on over it. He walks up to the house and unlocks the door. As he steps inside we see his new digs and we can’t help but wonder what the hell is this. There’s brown carpet and a few boxes in the corner. There’s a foldout table against the wall with a TV on it and a recliner sitting in the middle of the room. Along with all of that is beer bottles...a lot of beer bottles. They’re all over the floor and counters and a pot with a few day old mac and cheese sits on the stove with a long spoon sitting inside it. This is far removed from his Omaha apartment let alone his penthouse in Chicago.
Kemp’s walks over to the fridge and pulls a Coors Light bottle out of it. He takes a sip and walks over to the recliner. He plops down and just as he’s getting settled he can hear a beer bottle get kicked on the ground behind him. He sighs and looks over the back of the chair. Standing there is Shia LaBeouf. Kemp sneers at him. “What the fuck are you doing here?”
“Our interview Kyle.”
Kemp thinks back to yesterday and it hits him. He was asked to do this interview right before the photo op. He told them he’d only do it if he could do it at home. He thought that they wouldn’t come since he made that stipulation. He rolls his eyes and stands up. “Give me a minute. He walks past Shia, handing him the beer as he walks to the bedroom as we fade away.
Fake Friends
I suppose everyone expects me to come on the Action Wrestling Network and do the same tired schtick that I’ve done for the last few years. The schtick where I stand here and talk about how much better I am than the members of #BeachKrew. I bet you all expect me to smile and flash that movie star wink and talk about money and women and all of those same superficial things that I always thought that made me better than everyone else. I’m sure that’s what the guys at #BeachKrew are expecting me to say and I’m sure they think they are getting into the ring with the same guy that had those limitations. That’s right I said limitations.
Up until a few months ago I thought that there were no limitations for Kyle Kemp expect for Action Wrestling management. If you all look back to the second half of 2018 you can see me talking a big game about how the higher ups were refusing to give me a one on one title shot. How I thought that I had earned my way into the World Title conversation. Well I was wrong. That’s right. You don’t need to adjust your ears. You heard me correctly. I was wrong.
For to long I felt like I was being given the short end of the stick and the truth of the matter is that I was limiting myself. I was letting management dictate my future. I thought pushing around announcers and spitting in the face of authority was the way to go but now I see the real path to what will make me happy in Action Wrestling. That path is through ruthless aggression.
I know that sounds cliche but the fact of the matter is that I haven’t been ruthless enough over the past few years and the time is now to shed the old Kyle Kemp and come forth reborn as the real Kyle Kemp. The Kyle Kemp that looks at the old Kyle Kemp and wants to kick his and every other persons ass that steps in front of him because let’s face it. Being better than everyone else means nothing. It gets you nowhere. What gets you places is showing everyone just what you’re capable of and this Sunday I’m going to show the world exactly what Kyle Kemp can do.
What should scare you all even more is that I’m not just facing some guys that I just know from exchanging a few words in the locker room. I’m facing a group that includes two men that I once called brothers. A group that I once was an integral part of. A group that has gone downhill without me! That group is #BeachKrew.
Make no mistake it was not a coincidence that these guys decided to attack #FightSmart and more specifically me on their debut night. They did it because Wade Moor and Jared Holmes have no spines and they can’t handle it when they are spurned by one of their own. They have called me a fake friend for months but what facts do you two have behind that?
When you all invited me into #BeachKrew I was ecstatic and I was honored. It was then that I knew you guys saw something inside of me and I thought it was going to be on to better things. That’s why I volunteered to be your partner at Hellimination a couple of years ago. It wasn’t because I wanted to show off or make you all give me a pat on the back! I wanted to show you guys that I had what it took to belong! I wanted to show you guys that I was all in on whatever #BeachKrew needed from me. That’s why I gave up other aspirations to team with John Rabid. That’s why I helped you retain titles! That’s why I sold my soul to everything #BeachKrew! But do you want to know what I got instead? I am the one that got a couple of fake friends.
Once I outlived my usefulness I was pitched to the curb like trash. I wasn’t given any reasons or given any possible way back. It was just that one day I was in and the day I was out and I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. You guys are just like everyone else that has ever given me the time of day. You get tired of me, you take advantage of me and you leave. That’s what my parents did. That’s what my agent did. That’s what everyone does but enough is enough. There comes a time when every person has to pay for how they treat people and your time to pay is now #BeachKrew. This Sunday at War Games you will see what happens when you turn your back on someone you once called a brother. This Sunday I’m going to burn it all down even if I have to go down too.
Meltdown
It is about fifteen minutes later and Kemp is sitting in his recliner while Shia is sitting on one of the sturdier of moving boxes. Kemp had nothing else. Both men stare at each other before Shia realizes that Kemp isn’t going to participate in any pre interview pleasantries. He looks at the cameraman and signals for him to begin. “Joining me now is one of the men that will be participating in War Games this Sunday, Kyle Kemp. Kyle great to see you.”
“The feeling isn’t mutual.”
Shia purses his lips and nods. “Well ok then. Tell me. How are you feeling ahead of this matchup? It has seemed like #BeachKrew has had your number lately.”
“I can’t dispute that. I know you expect me to sit here and say that that isn’t true and how we are going to avenge all of these things they’ve done to us but I just can’t do that. I know what I can control and what I’m going to control is my man. Whoever faces up to me in that cell is going to get buried but I can’t speak for everyone else.”
“Why do you say that?”
“Because we need to step it up! #BeachKrew came in here and punched us in the mouth a couple months ago and we’ve been reeling ever since. We had gotten comfortable and complacent. We had titles and fame and glory and we’re running this thing. We were the cream of the crop and it was inevitable that a group would step up and try to put us in our place. When that happens you have two choices. Fight back or go home with your tail between your legs. I don’t want to go home! I want to fight and I’m coming to War Games to fight! I want a piece of every single one of them and the rest of the guys need to do the same!”
“So you’re calling your fellow #FightSmart members out?”
“I’m not calling them out. I’m telling them that this is what we are going to need to do to win. I’m tired of people saying #FightSmart is dead and acting like #BeachKrew is dancing on our grave. We need to come to War Games with everything we have. I urge my teammates to think about what they did to Andre and how we got screwed out of our Tag Titles. If that doesn’t get your blood flowing then I don’t know what will.”
“Well I know you’re firing up the other members of #FightSmart but what about Torture? He isn’t a member and just before he went on hiatus you and him weren’t exactly on the best of terms.”
Kemp shrugs his shoulders. “It is what it is. Torture and I have had our differences. I felt like he was holding me back and I’m sure he thought he was doing what was best for the company. At the time I thought he was wrong and if I was face to face with him right now I’d tell him he was….well he was right. I wasn’t ready. That Kyle Kemp was pathetic and a bitch. This Kyle Kemp is going to roll into War Games and kick some ass.”
“Well you say you’re ready but what about the rumors about you having a meltdown backstage on Sunday?”
“What are you talking about?”
“Well people saw you staring at your bloody hand and then you locked yourself in the janitors closet and heard screaming. Any comments about that?”
Kemp looks down at his bandaged hand and can feel the same anxiety and rage begin to pulse throughout his body. “A meltdown? You think because some concession stand worker that saw me upset backstage said something to you that makes it a meltdown?”
“Ummm….”
“Shut up Shia!” Kemp stands up. “Get the fuck out of my house! You want a meltdown I’ll give you a fucking meltdown!”
Shia stands up and he and the cameraman gather their belongings quickly with the cameraman still taping with one hand. “You think you’re somebody because you’ve got the power to ask questions? You ain’t shit Shia! I was fine on Monday and I’m going to be fine on Sunday!”
The cameraman and Shia start out the door but Kemp can’t hold it in anymore. He walks up behind the cameraman who is trailing Shia and shoved him. The cameraman and Shia crash into each other and fall to the bottom of the stairs on his porch. Shia scrambles to his feet and runs to the car. The cameraman tries to do the same but Kemp hops down to the bottom of the steps and punches the cameraman in the back of the head. He crumpled to the ground and Kemp locks in a rear naked choke. The cameraman struggles but begins to fade.
Shia is in the car with the door locked but is yelling at Kemp to stop. Kemp can feel the cameraman fading so he lets go. He looks up at the car and walks over to the car. Shia is screaming and Kemp smiles. He is now right next to the car and points at Shia. “You come pick him up and get the hell out of here. You show everyone this footage. You tell everyone what happened here today! You piss me off and you get knocked out. Simple as that!” Kemp walks away from the car and into his house as we fade away with Shia pulling the cameraman into the car.
Game Changer
I’ve been watching film on our War Games opponents all week and I still cannot fathom why we have let these assholes push us around. The media has pushed these guys like they are something special where the truth of the matter is that they have put together a magnificent smoke screen to their obvious flaws. So much has been made of their interferences in our matches and the times they’ve jumped us from behind that people have forgotten to look at their performance in the ring.
When it comes to Alexander Pasternak we have to all agree on one thing. There is no performance in the ring! This guy has become a master at skating by. Once in a blue moon he gets in the ring but I honestly can’t remember the last time he won shit! He’s just another nameless faceless soul that Wade Moor and Jared Holmes have conned to stand behind them and do their bidding but that’s what they do. They seek the lost and provide them with what they think is support and a brotherhood but what they really are doing is getting them a pawn. I used to be a pawn for them but then they quickly realized that I was going to be much more than a pawn! That’s why they cut me out!
Do you think it won’t happen to you Alex? Or are you to high to figure it out? I guess that’s what made you ideal. A partner that’s always high is easy to control. Someday you’ll see that’s what’s happening. Hell I wouldn’t be surprised if they are supplying you with the cocaine so you don’t figure it out! Either way you will be a non factor on Sunday.
Do you know who else will be a non factor? Jared Holmes. That’s right Jared! You! I know you think that you are going to come in and roll as well but you’re almost as much of a non factor as Pasternak! When was the last time you legitimately competed? Oh I forgot. You like to only show up when you think it’s a big pay day. Well congrats Jared. You’re going to get one more chance to show up on a big stage….and fail. Besides a small cup of coffee as a champion you’ve never really done anything besides stand behind men like me! Well that and your keyboard.
You can talk a big game on Twitter and other social media platforms but you never say it to anyone’s face Jared. You cower up and become nervous about getting punched in that pretty face of yours. Pretty boy Jared Holmes comes out to play when things really get aggressive. This Sunday you can’t attack me from behind or interrupt one of my matches. You’ve got to look me square in the eyes and try to beat me which you won’t! This isn’t the Trilogy Cup or WCF. This is Action Wrestling and this is #FightSmarts house!
Something you know all to well don’t you Lockhart. You’ve been here about as long as I have and you’ve seen exactly what we are capable of. You’ve watched us rise to the top and you’ve watched us still be more popular than you. It’s eaten away at you that no matter how much you win and how good you think you are, you still don’t get any recognition. That’s why you joined #BeachKrew!
You realized that no matter what you do you will be one of those champions that no one remembers five years from now. You’ll become the guy that people go “oh he was champion?” Or even worse “Ryan Lockhart? Whose that?” So congratulations! You now will be known but you’ll be known as a #BeachKrew tag along. Wade and Jared have you right where they want you! That’s why they let you sit up in that skybox a couple weeks ago while they attacked. They knew you’d let that moment if “power” get to your head! Now you think you are all in on being their friend and we both know you’ll do anything for them! That’s what makes you the puppet and then the puppeteers.
Isn’t that right Wade? You’re the ultimate puppeteer. You’re always in the very back pulling the strings. Out of all these guys you compete the most so people think you are on the frontlines but in reality you are the true leader. You are the one everyone is really protecting. That is why you think this match will be great for you. You have all your pawns on the frontline and you can come into the carnage and pick up a victory. I know how your mind works. You think you have all the advantages but you’ve miscalculated one thing. Vengeance.
I’m going to seek revenge on you for everything you’ve done to me! You turning your back on me in #BeachKrew! You attacking me from behind! You always being a thorn in my side! I was no fake friend. I was a brother and now I’m going to show you what happens when you turn your back on family.
This Sunday will be a war and a war that #BeachKrew will lose. No matter how many battles you have won, the game changer is coming. Get ready for all of this to end. Get ready for Kyle Kemp!
