Simple question, what can you do to be the best version of yourself in AW?
For me, it would be to ensure my rp's are at the same level every week. I am very aware that my RP's fluctuate in quality, this often stems from who I am facing. Certain guys I am a lot better at rping against than others. My aim to change this is to try and keep my RP's at a top level no matter who I am facing.
What about you?

Be consistent and start pushing for feuds/alliances and storylines.

That too ^^^^ I haven’t kept up in a while That doesn't make any difference. It can be good shoot or story. Prime example you coulda used the Frost sex tape scandal which went crazy on the boards. But you f RPs were read you would have known prior to people telling you. Keeping up can get you to the top. Period.

I probably need to start planning more and writing my RP out earlier in the week. My writing process is pretty whack and basically just relies on my quick typing. I come up with a RP idea and bang it out in around 2 hours or more sometimes, which I feel lowers the quality.
That being said, I've been trying to get away from this style for over a year now and it still hasn't worked. Who knows? Maybe my writing is better unplanned.

I def agree with reading others shit to gain perspective, but it helps further if you can identify the things you think are nice that others do and Frankenstein that in an original way to continue to work at becoming the best you can be. In terms of consistency, just keep grinding, my dude. As for me, I just want to serve as someone who can get others over as well as myself and try to be relevant for a long time here, because I fucking LOVE AW! If you or anyone else needs direction, message Tortle and GD. They're not shy about transparency and if you study the patterns of winning formulas, you'll only get better at figuring out exactly what the judges are looking for. You're tight though, man. Again, just keep at it.

If there's anything I would need to improve on, it's likely getting more interactive/involved. I'm often on a time crunch, but I do try to get in segs when I can. I do feel like I am one big feud/story away from really getting Casey to that higher level. Like, I feel everything else is mostly in place, it's just that part that probably needs the most extensive attention right now.

Character wise I have always tried to do add other characters that can help and not always "Shoot style" promos. But it never sounds good. I also am aware that my rp's change from who I am facing, depending on who my opponent is my rp's can either better or worse.
I too would like to be more involved interactively with segments, and or on twitter. But then I read some of the BS that occurs on twitter and then it makes me just wanna stay clear off it. Also working 12 hours shifts every day doesn't help, mostly my weekends are for catching up with stuff and roleplaying.

Also working 12 hours shifts every day doesn't help, mostly my weekends are for catching up with stuff and roleplaying. If I may, the twitter boards ain't everything. 75% of what I actually read from there are Torture's announcements because both IC and OOC, Speede just doesn't care about them. What you wanna do is talk to Torture, talk to GD, and reach out to the people you really want to work with. Like, whether he wins or loses, I think a feud between you and Dandy DiVito would be freakin' interesting if you got the chance. Claire Hawkins I'm just saying, you do well here. I think you're right on the edge of a much greater success- and I can offer the same advice: get involved. Throw a curveball and team up with Zombie McMorris, or go after whoever wins the US title match, or hell, feud with Anton. Some people are planning out stories through Evolution already. But that doesn't mean you can't decide to fuck all that up

I won't call names on this because there's several that will fit in both categories, but one way that many can improve on are adding more shoot or story to their RPs. We've had people since AW opened its doors who primarily did shoot and did little to no character development. We've also had people who have been all CD with little to no shoot. Neither type of writer will climb very high here in AW. For some people, it's about that just being their style of writing, which is fine if you are just here solely to write and don't care about winning or climbing to the top of the fed.
However, if you're one of those people who want to succeed and be considered a top writer in AW, you have to adapt just like you have to do in like 90% of feds. I used to write RPs that were like 90% shoot, 10% CD. I had to adapt in WCF because I was falling behind, especially when RPs took more of a balance between shoot and character development. That's the case here.
Another way is segments. If you do nothing but write RPs each week and then sit and wait for results and then for the card and rinse and repeat, the odds of you climbing the ranks and being a big name here are very slim. I'm sure if I comb through the list, I can find people who don't do segments that often who do climb, but they're usually cream of the crop writers to begin with, but one way to propel yourself here is to do segments on the show. You don't have to do multiple segments. They don't have to be huge and extravagant, just do a segment.
If you watch RAW or Smackdown or whatever, some of the top guys are almost always involved in segments each month and in some cases nearly every week. In most cases with real wrestling, the management may be entirely responsible for them being involved or maybe the talent approaches management, but here in AW, you'd have to approach us. Some of the larger storylines may have management's hands involved more than the wrestlers, but in most cases it's up to you. Doing segments shows that you are serious about being a big deal here in AW and you will be rewarded for it.
The thing to remember when doing segments is to not just throw something at the wall to see if it sticks or to just write up something YOU think is cool, because even though the main point in doing this is to write for yourself, if you're doing it for the purposes of winning, you have to remember you're writing for the fed. You have to make sure it isn't just something that interests YOU, it needs to interest the fed as a whole and mainly Torture and myself.
Everything you write, no matter if it's a RP or a segment needs to further the story of your character's career and life in general. Watch how they do this with RAW and Smackdown. Go back and read the shows to see how some of the top guys have done it.
