More
I want more. That’s all I can think about as I look down at the championship belt laying on my lap. Most would be happy to have a championship belt in a growing company like Action Wrestling but I look at it and feel something that I would never feel was possible. Indifference. If you would’ve told me all those years ago that I wouldn’t be over the moon to be a champion then I would tell you you are a moron. Being a champion is all I wanted when I started in professional wrestling but with all the successes and past achievements comes less gratitude and happiness with each belt. That is the case for me here.
I look around my living room and sigh. I have everything I have ever wanted. Money, fame, championship gold and a name that people won’t forget. This really is all I have ever wanted but I guess I was wrong. I stand up and toss the championship belt on my shoulder and walk over to the mirror by my front door. I look at myself and smile but the smile is just like how I’ve felt in the ring lately. Fake. It’s not real. None of it’s real. The only real thing is that I want more. I want more than to be a Tag Team Champion.
The clatter of the belt hitting the hardwood floor means nothing to me as I toss it down. It may as well be the crumbs from the bagel I ate earlier on the floor. I smirk at that thought. Crumbs. That’s all I feel like I’ve been getting lately. Mired in this ridiculous feud with Karlie Nash and Nikki Vaughn over something as trivial as the Tag Team Titles. Never getting a real title shot. Hell I would take a Television or United States Championship match at this point. God knows I’m not getting the World Title match I’ve always wanted. The match I’ve always deserved.
I run my hands through my hair with force, almost pulling some hair out as I do it. Watching SJW win the World Title was gut wrenching. It was only a few months ago when he was a member of #FightSmart as Max Masked and he was the low man on the totem pole. He was supposed to help Kemp win the damn All In briefcase. Instead one blow to the head changed everything.
The only thing it didn’t change was the dominance of #FightSmart. I can’t remember the last time we lost and that’s a good thing. We dethroned Power Word: Kill and we haven’t looked back. Lincoln has been doing his thing but none of us are where I think we want to be. In fact I think all of us should be offended for not being catered to but that’s just me. Well I’m going to do something about it. I’m going to get more.
Huh?
We open up on Kyle Kemp sitting at a table with Spencer Adams a few days before Clash. Both men are looking at each other warily. Kemp knows that Spencer is a little pissed off at him and Spencer knows that he needs to approach his issue with Kemp kids gloves. Any little thing can piss him off these days. “So are we going to talk about the choice that you made?”
Kemp laughs. “Choice? Come on. Don’t be dramatic.”
“I’m not being dramatic. You are putting yourself before the group!”
“How!?”
Spencer slams his hand down on the table and points at Kemp. “Because you got to respond to Jaice Wild’s social media post before me!”
Both men laugh. “It’s not my fault my social media game is on point! You need to get those Action Wrestling notifications turned on.”
“Whatever man. That’s what personal assistants are for but in all seriousness, are you really going to face Jaice Wilds?”
Kemp shrugs his shoulder. “I mean yeah. Why not? Win another belt and end the 201 and Fun division. That sounds like a fun way to spend a Sunday to me!”
“Well you have a point there.”
“Besides there’s only so many times you can punch Karlie Nash in the face till it gets old. You know what I’m saying?”
Spencer smiles and opens his right fist a couple of times. “I hear ya. My knuckles still sore from Nikki Vaughns jaw!”
“Exactly so why not show another division why the only way to fight is to #FightSmart.” Both men cheers their glasses as we fade to black.
Cheap
Survivor. That is the theme for this Sunday’s Clash and many are calling it a cheap marketing ploy. Hell I’m calling it a cheap marketing ploy. Sure we are getting exposure but at what cost? I mean the Action Wrestling roster is just going to be shown that if things came down to a survivor scenario, #FightSmart would be the only group left standing. We show that day in and day out. We did that at Carnage when I made us retain our Tag Team Titles! We are going to do it on Sunday when we beat these other jokers one more time.
Nikki Vaughn and Karlie Nash. All I hear from these idiots is complaints and talks of conspiracies but the question I have for all of you is this: what have you really done? We’ve beaten you countless times and it hasn’t even been close. These Tag Titles have been out of your grasp for a couple of months and it should have set in by now that you aren’t getting them. No way no how. These are ours.
L. Verez. Since we last fought you have done nothing to change my opinion of you. You still are the same loser as you were before. The only difference is is that you beat a member of another company and you took down a has been. Great.
Zombie McMorris. Yawn. You haven’t done anything of relevance in a long long time. I don’t care about you or anyone else.
The truth of the matter is that I’m running out of time before I have to make an appearance at a charity function and I’m already going to give you all plenty of charity with my presence on Sunday. So fuck off. I’m Kyle Kemp and I’m better than you.
