Nothing wrong with basing some elements of your character on yourself – the real issues start when the character IS you. It’s always people who make their characters thinly veiled inserts that go the most off the rails: when the character IS you, the shoot isn’t about some abstract fictional person, it’s someone insulting and criticizing you. Self-inserts are the most frustrating to work with because they never want to look bad or take an L; if you feud with them, they WILL expect to stand tall at the end of every fight, even if it’s a three-on-one attack (this has happened to me. Not naming names; Wade can have a chuckle about it still). And why would they? This is a form of idealized escape where they’re supposed to finally be the badass who can say “fuck you” to people fucking with them. They’re also never wrong, so good luck telling them they’re clearly being heels. And when they are heels, they’re never shitty coward cheaters but unstoppable monsters who just terrify everyone but are still feared, respected, and cheered by the crowds. (Sorry I’ve wanted to get that rant off my chest for a long time.) A big tip I have is to model a character on yourself or someone you know and then change some important characteristics. I heavily modeled the Howard Black character on myself, but Howie is a college dropout with a wife and son from rural Nebraska, while I’m a nerdy bachelor from California. Felix may be drawn from my experiences working in bars, but he’s a dive bar bouncer while I do the whole “mixology” thing. Those chunks are where you get the sweet spot. I'd like to point out that I've seen 0 flashbang assaults in this fed and it's about damn time someone do something about it! Ooc beatdown. You smell bad, ur teeth are crooked and ur a horrible burden on ur mother Lol jk spence Now whered i put that brestplate lol

My real life isn't interesting enough to include in Karlie's stuff. Trust me. Aside from training under AIW, being married to a wonderful wife, and having a silly 1 year old, my life ain't very interesting either. What I did was take bits of my persona, the fact that I'm trans, that I'm into sci-fi, and tbh, am just pretty weird in general, and turned it into a character. The Neucleosis storyline was based off the fact that I myself deal with mental disorders. I suffer from focusing and memory issues, so I gave that to L, and made it into a struggle with herself, and gave her something to overcome, while adding those over the top sci-fi elements to make it stand out and to help me blend my CD with my shoot. You can take small bits of yourself, piece them together, and amp them up to 11 to make your character really stand out.

My real life isn't interesting enough to include in Karlie's stuff. It's not about real life events. It's about real life personality.
And, though I don't know you very well, I can say you've got at least some personality that I could see fitting into an e-wrestling character. Honestly, you've made OOC posts here that have made me laugh out loud - even if you weren't trying to be funny. Mostly they come when you're saying that you don't give a shit about something. When you say that you don't read other people's RPs or you only read your segments of the show - you've got a way of doing it that, whether you don't realize it or not, is hilarious.
That's why, in a recent OOC post when I was still Max Masked (if there was such a thing as an OOC post as Max Masked), I called you the Brock Lesnar of Action Wrestling. Your comments about not caring about what's going on aside from your own stuff reminded me of the persona he's had for the last couple of months in WWE.
So that's just one personality trait that I've observed that could be magnified and worked into an e-wrestling character. If I can come up with one and I barely know you, you can probably think of a few more.

Maybe she needs something she can't conquer. A cougar too powerful for her amazon/huntress powers to slay.

My real life isn't interesting enough to include in Karlie's stuff. This whole hobby is about the people behind the characters not being that interesting enough. No offense to anyone reading this. What I mean is look at who we choose for our picbases. None of these are probably people who would do e-wrestling because they're way too busy doing sports, movies, etc. Like others have said, it's more about your personality traits. But at the same time, that's not how I really write my characters actually. I did that with Billy who was once a wrestler in WCF for close to 6 months. He's the only character I have that somewhat matches my personality. Aside from Billy, I feel like I have simply created characters. Three examples: Gravedigger I don't really think we have anything in common. I created this guy based off of the personalities and gimmicks of other real wrestlers. He's a mixture of multiple well known wrestlers. He's inspired by characters from The Shield as well. I simply put myself in his shoes and try to think like he would for my writing and for his personality traits, but at his core he's just an old school wrestler. John Barber (another of my WCF characters) This is a guy that's based off one of my ancestors of the same name and I created his world from just studying my ancestors and where he lived. Plus some of his personality is also derived from the picbase (Dean from Supernatural). Michael (a character of mine from UCI) This is another guy who is just based off of some ideas from my own mind, a world I created for him. Plus like Barber, I also borrow from the early days of Castiel's personality from Supernatural. I feel like if you're having trouble putting yourself into the character, that you should just create this world for your character and give them a personality. You could even do similar to what I did with Michael and John Barber and just borrow elements of your picbase's personality. Study her or people like her and get to know them better and learn how they tick.

Anyway, do what I did when I got burnt out and couldn't come up with anything - give your character a celebrity love interest that happens to basically be a personal meme.

The not being interesting note is in itself an interesting conversation. Here's my challenge to you.
-I know you typically write shorter RPs. Task yourself with writing closer to the cap. If 4k is too much, write 3k. Force yourself to come up with ideas for that much writing. -If you need content, think about things you've done and places you've recently gone. Hell, even just shit you like. I see shows or YT channels and I try to make an RP out of that. I'll have gone to get food somewhere or been at someone's house and I'll tweak that into an RP and have it make sense for Spencer.

Felix may be drawn from my experiences working in bars, but he’s a dive bar bouncer while I do the whole “mixology” thing. Those chunks are where you get the sweet spot. To be fair, Bull knows he does heel stuff. I say face with heel tendencies because he believes he needs to be able to do anything to get the job done, because this is beyond wrestling for him. And Ill take an L if it means to push a storyline. lol Shit, Ill let someone remove me from the company for a few weeks if it means I can forward a storyline while getting a break. I hate when people think their character can't lose at all. This is a game after all shit isn't going to go your way every time. That's a Mary Sue character and they are just OP and shouldn't even exist in a federation.
Bull is me in some aspects turned way up and other things I have done in the past turned up. The angel part, his multiple personalities, that is all stuff from characters I did for Dungeons and Dragons or for Marvel Superheroes RPG. I took gaming experiences and found a way to apply them to Bull. But some of those you gotta keep off camera. If you want to portray your character as legit crazy, talk about them on camera as if they are a normal experience. But if you just want to build the backstory, the mindset, quirks, and the like of the character, then write an off camera story that you are comfortable with.
Bulls sister Dove is based off of a friend in real life. She got hit after graduation by a drunk and now her mentality is that of a child, has been for many years. But she was just a friend, so I draw off of real life tragedies when I write pieces with her to hit the correct tone. And thats all it takes. Maybe you have a friend that you use to hang with that stuck a cord in your life. You can turn them into a confidant, love interest, mentor....shit just about anything you want to and still have something to draw from for the character.
I personally enjoyed Karlie going all no frills and shit. The straight shooter style seemed good with her. Add in the fact that she "relapsed" to her old ways, and you have the beginnings of a complicated, but well worth writing, storyline that you can use. Maybe the sex tape really did happen and wasn't just John Frost being a dick. But you don't have to admit that ON CAMERA! Use it off camera, make it a concern for Karlie. Those little things that seem so none essential can be the one thing that turns a character around.

We've all been there (I even picked up some infections, long story).
Not that I condone (I almost left it as "condom", see if it still worked with that word) coasting but if you can do so by having personal experiences OOC and away from AW theaded into your work until inspiration hits, that always worked for me. It's not cheating because you're not writing any old crap and it's still personal to you - and therefore, your character - and can work out perfectly, sometimes.
Here's an experience JJ's probably seen before:
I once was booked in a tournament match as my Delfino character back in 2008. Weekly deadlines, I was RPing thousands of words as two characters in two different styles and for that week's tournament round, I had nothing. It stressed me out for five days and the deadline was midnight Eastern on Saturday night because I went to bed on Friday night with nothing.
Then, it happened. I had a weird dream and decided, "Hey, I use fantasy crap, maybe I could use this", so I wrote as much as I could remember from it. Every detail. Halfway through, I realised that I could spot some metaphors in there that were relevent to the match itself, so I added a golden crown emblem to a car that almost hit me in the actual dream (my opponent's nickname was "King").
Voila, eight hours and severe hand cramps later and I was posting that sumbitch on the boards and sitting back, relieved. Even better, not only did I win that match, I went on to win the tournament (and then the Undisputed title a month later, as reward for winning the tournament, again, using a real-life experience OOC for something IC that I could use as a metaphor).
I've seen the argument against basing a character on yourself but this roster seem like good eggs and not the nightmarish, arrogant monsters up their own asses like I've seen in other places but at the end of the day, it's all about what works best for you and you alone.
Most importantly, don't feel bad about admitting openly to having nothing going on creatively. Writers get writer's block all the time, it just so happens that we're the kinds who punish ourselves but gain much satisfaction from doing it to regular deadlines in a game that has everyone evolve over the weeks, months and years.
