Title:
A.S.H.W.G.A.
Competitor:
Spencer Adams
What can I say? So much history between these two that I’ve had the honor of witnessing first hand. If we had to look back to WCF circa 2016 and on, I’d never imagine seeing Spencer Adams and Teo standing across from each other in a ring in 2024. So many ups and downs as a community and here we are these two bonafide legends throwing down to prove who still has it and with that big Discovery Cup tournament coming, this match seems to be crucial for the sake of momentum.
Now, I poured myself a pint and I found myself stepping into a MasterClass of writing a roleplay that delivers on all fronts. Spencer, take it for what it is worth, but “You Still Got It” clap clap clap. Bruv, I felt pulled right back into your world and can I fanboy for a second by saying that I popped when you paid a visit to the UCI warehouse. I’m hoping our little walk down memory lane leads us back to the Slabs, then you’ll really bring me full circle with your history.
"So poetic that it’s you, Teo. We’ve been through so much together over the years, both in arms and as chippy pseudo-rivals, though always maintaining that sense of brotherhood that brought us together in the first place. Funny enough, our union as The People’s Choice alongside Vic always felt a little inadvertently defiant against the mismanagement of a showrunner like Seth Lerch. History has a way of looping back when you least expect it to. Exit the bastard man and enter Zaslav, Pettis, and Downfall. This trio with goals of rejuvenation for a company and industry that both mutually felt the impact of a downward shift in the health and prosperity of the sport."- Spencer Adams (You know me, I'm a sucker for a bit of a history between wrestlers in RPs. Something to show who you were and why did what you did. You were here before, right? The way you project this character I can see why you were one of the greats. Great work man!) This is Ves’s pick from her Fave Lines of the week, which for those who aren’t in the know, I can see how it grabs them to lay down a foundation of your history here, but I have another line that came off as a great punch for me.
“Why then is this the abridged version of “The Spencer Adams match starring Spencer Adams”?
Why are you the feature within the headline?
I’m not here to disparage you and I don’t feel management is either, but even if not intentional, the billboards and flyers are already paid for. It might be a bit too melodramatic to call it “damage done”, but the narrative is pretty firm. While I have no doubts about your ability to play the spoiler and flip the headline on its dome, there’s still the matter of the lead up to that opening bell and whatever rocky face there is to traverse mentally for Teo Blaze and the question I’m here to toss into the conversation is how will you respond?
Will you use the return of Spencer Adams as a stepping stone back to the world title?
..or..
Are you going to allow me to keep you on the right hand side of “vs.”?”
It felt like a punch to Teo’s up and down and how this moment he would truly see as his next big opportunity. To snuff out the returning spotlight of that main event scene that kept him on the outside for so long in this community. Teo has his chance to crush this grand scheme of making the OG and Spencer Adams the new age BeachKrew or Pantheon and he could be the ONE to bring it all down before it even begins.
I saw the high level of this match and after reading this and reading Teo’s work this week, I know I wouldn’t want to be the admins making that decision, but it is awesome to see the big punches coming right out the gate.
I’m sure I’ve said it before, but WELCOME BACK, Spencer Adams and the rest of your OG brethren. I hope I speak for everyone when I say, we can’t wait to see what comes next and what kind of match ups we have. I hope it’s nothing but classic after classic.
Cheers, mate, until that inevitable match up.
