CHARACTER NAME: Kyle Shane
NICKNAME: The God of Game, the Catalyst
HOMETOWN: Roxbury, Massachusetts
HEIGHT: 6'2
WEIGHT: 207 lbs
ALIGNMENT Face, but an obnoxious, incredibly arrogant one.
PICBASE Andrew Garfield
IN-RING STYLE A hybrid of speed with a working knowledge of strong style. Basically, Kyle is a junior heavyweight/X-division wrestler that's had to adjust, as he's grown older and injuries have mounted, to decrease the amount of flippy high spots, 450's, and suicide dives, although he still pulls them out, with an increased focus on catch wrestling and strikes. (Think how Will Ospreay has had to adapt to heavyweight style, and that's basically it.) Although he's lost a step in the blitzing speed that used to be his highest stat, he is still and always will be highly adaptable.

ENTRANCE THEME: "Degausser" by Brand New
ENTRANCE: The opening keyboard intro, synths, and soft buildup of "Degausser" by Brand New begins to play, and as drums kick in, an immaculately animated video game drop down menu, made to resemble the font and aesthetic of a Japanese RPG, opens and the cursor hovers over the options, "LOAD GAME, SAVE GAME" before paging up to the first option, "START GAME" and highlighting it. Kyle Shane steps slowly out onto the stage, as Jesse Lacey launches into the first lines:
"Goodbye to sleep...
I think this staying up/Is exactly what I need[...]
Goodbye to love...
Well it's a ride that will push you up/Right against the wall[...]"
Kyle is wearing a leather coat with a black hood, the cut and color of which is made to resemble David's in Cyberpunk 2077. As he steps onto the stage, clips of a futuristic cityscape flash by in quicktime interspersed with flashes of him hitting signature moves, and the crowd is picking up the energy and singing along with the backing vocals in "Degausser"; As Kyle starts walking down the ramp, smiling, that inimitable Kyle Shane swagger in his step, arms out, pivoting so all eyes are on him as he turns, the crowd sings along "TAKE APART YOUR HEAD, CHEW IT UP AND SWALLOW IT". As Kyle steps towards them, some of the fans are put off by the ever-present arrogance of the smarky, self-obsessed Catalyst, but some fans at ringside give a deep, fanning bow in the aisles as Kyle passes. The crowd continues to counter-sing the backing vocals, "TAKE APART YOUR FRIENDS, TAKE APART YOUR DEMONS, IN THE ATTIC TO THE LEFT..." And the guitars are going harder, and Jesse Lacey's voice reaches it's apex, with the crowd singing along.
"GOODBYE, MY LOVE/YOU BURN BRIGHT, BUT YOU RUN OUT...
(You wait right here, they'll come and pick you up)
I FELL ASLEEP IN THE ALKALINE...
(I've been on pause, I'm shaking off the rust)
I CAN'T SHAKE THIS LITTLE FEELING...
(I've lost my charge, I've been degaussed)
I'LL NEVER SAY ANYTHING RIGHT..."
Kyle stops halfway down the aisle, snapping the collar of the Cyberpunk cosplay jacket upright. He climbs onto the apron. Kyle balances one knee on the ropes, hanging on to the top for a moment, an infuriating smirk breaking across his face. As the song reaches the softer part of Jesse's solo, with the crowd singing along, "Take me, take me back to your bed, I love you so much that it hurts my head..." Kyle fluidly slips between the ropes, spins towards the entrance ramp and extends his arm fully out, his first finger and thumb pointed out in a pantomime of a cocked pistol, before he mouths the word "Bang" and lets the hammer down.
"When we were made we were set apart/But life is a test and I get bad marks...
Now some saint got the job of writing down my sins...
The storm is coming/THE STORM IS COMING IN!!"
Kyle turns, still with a smirk, as the crowd is worked into a frenzy, and he removes the leather jacket and begins stretching for the match.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION Kyle is extremely tall and relatively thin, with longish legs. For his frame, his muscles aren't bulky. Some would even say scrawny, with a long neck, but his muscles are so cut that he looks as if he was carved from wood. His face is starting to show lines of age and wear, lines under his eyes. His auburn hair is gelled up into spikes and has the sides shaved, and he has grown a beard and goatee. He has a sleeve of very nerdy tattoos on his left arm, a montage of classic NES characters and a LoZ Tri-Force, a 1-up mushroom, a coin box, etc. He has a ring of seven Dragon balls on his right shoulder.
Out of the ring attire: As he's reached his thirties, Kyle's taste has grown up just a bit. He's still a fusion of vintage Myspace emo and late quarter life hipster, only now he's leaned towards the side of wearing slacks, suspenders, and a white shirt with rolled up sleeves, the type of older vet at a pop punk show look. He might wear a thick wool peacoat over top of this, weather permitting, or a simple, black hoodie with white strings. Usually sports a beat up pair of Chuck Taylor skater shoes.
In ring attire: Kyle sports black wrist tape on his left arm, and a mid-bicep length athletic sleeve on his right arm. He wears a tight pair of long-fit basketball type shorts, that go down to mid-thigh. The shorts are glossy, shiny silvery material with a neon yellow piping on the inseam. The tights have the word "CATALYST" in the font of a Japanese RPG, and slashes of messy paint behind the words. His knee pads are black, and have a golden stylized encircled X on either kneecap. The sides of his trunks have a montage of video game symbols, an Psycho mask logo, a Master Sword. His boots and kick guards are gun-metal, with amber triangles indicating power LED's on the shins. To the ring, wears a yellow leather jacket with black accents and a black hood, tailored to look like David from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, with the half-sleeves rolled up. He takes the leather jacket off as he enters the ring, and prefers to wrestle bare chested.
WRESTLING ARSENAL
Finishers
Primary finisher: Nexus Dawn
Description: Headlock driver; Kyle has the height and long legs to make this look good against almost anybody, as he clamps them in the facelock, sweeps a leg forward, and then spikes them down right on the crown of their head.
Secondary finisher: One Shot, One Kill (abbreviated OSOK)
Description: V-Trigger knee strike, with multiple variations.
1) Leaping at an opponent from a standing position
2) Running,
3) Into an opponent laid against the ropes,
4) ripcord pulled into a V-Trigger, etc.
Pinpoint accuracy meets devastating force for a knockout shot (literally, "one headshot one kill") or could spam multiple for a big match.
Submission finisher: Black Lotus
Description: Bully choke, often exerting so much force that he has them clamped in the crook of his arm and he pushes himself into a bridge position over their shoulder or back and pulls up under their chin with all his might.
Strike combos (Vital part of his game plan): Superkick spam (think the way the Usos or Kevin Owens do it, a duo or trio of light superkicks that stagger an opponent before the last superkick drops them) - Superkick, superkick, superkick. Rolling elbow, superkick, OSOK. Straight kick to the chest, spinning back kick to double them over, Blackout while they're on their knees. Spinning back kick to double them over, Blackout while they're on their knees, OSOK once they pull themselves up.
Signature moves:
1) The Persistence of Memory: Running sling blade, either a counter or off an irish whip.
2) Voight-Kampf Test: A lifting single underhook DDT. Finn Balor's 1916, can be done regular or inverted.
3) Within Cells Interlinked: Electric chair lift dropped into a bridged German suplex.
4) Blackout: Basement superkick, flush to the cheek or temple of a kneeling or rising opponent.
5) Tannhauser Gate: Snap rolling cutter. Cody Rhodes' Crossrhodes.
6) A Scanner Darkly: Usually done as a counter in one smooth motion- Roll over the shoulder to drop down in front, catch the opponent as he's rolling over them with a flatliner, float right into a Koji clutch.
Regular moves: Three vertical suplexes (Three amigos style), double or single knee facebuster, sitout facebuster (X-Factor), brainbuster, sliding short reverse STO, barrel roll suicide dive, surfboard stretch into a curbstomp, octopus stretch, Pele kick, flying elbow drop, double-arm DDT, leg drop bulldog, double jump moonsault
Strategy, strengths, weaknesses
Strengths: 1) Speed. Although showing his age now and his speed, which was once his most maxed-out stat, has slowed, he refuses to let it stop him and pushes himself.
2) From a mental standpoint, Kyle is the ultimate gamer. He sees everything as a boss battle, as a challenge to overcome, and his mind is always working on solving the problem in front of him, one way or another. He is obsessed with getting better, levelling up, raising his game in a big match and making sure he puts out the best effort.
3) COMBOS. Kyle is adept at chain wrestling and unleashing a series of combos, floatovers, reversals.
4) Resilience. Kyle can take a large, extensive amount of punishment, but refuse to give up. Will often get back up and ask for more.
Weaknesses: 1) Cockiness. Kyle is a true gamer, and have you ever tried to tell a gamer that they suck? It doesn't work. He think he's the best and nobody can tell him he may be wrong.
2) Conversely to that, he is pitbull tenacious, as many gamers are wont to be. When his back is to the wall, he fights hard, and sometimes can cross the line when pushed too far.
3) Smaller stature. Not the biggest or strongest in the ring, can’t win a power game against bigger, stronger opponents.
4) Kyle is just... he's a prick. Even as a face. He's contrary, in your face, and annoying. He knows how to push some buttons, and he can get under the skin of anyone, the crowd, or even referees, which can work to his disadvantage.
