Last week I went into my match with something to prove. After failing to capture the World Heavyweight Championship, I found myself in a desperate situation. I hadn't proven myself enough to stay at the top of Action Wrestling. At this point I was just a flash in the pan that got lucky.
I'm more than that.
That's why beating TJ Alexander was so important to me. I had to prove that I wasn't just going to fold and be forgotten. I needed to prove that I'm willing to climb mountain after mountain. It doesn't matter how tough the journey is. I'm going to reach the top.
Time permitting of course.
I just turned forty-six years old this week. That doesn't mean I'm getting to but an end to my career. A lot of people will say that my goal of being World Heavyweight Champion is nothing but a fantasy.
If I don't believe it's obtainable, then what the hell am I even doing?
It looks like the world isn't ready for TJ and I to be separated just yet. Instead of one on one, we'll be in tag action. I'm not sure who this benefits more. I'm guessing TJ has a chip on his shoulder after losing, but look at what I'm carrying around.
The chip on my shoulder wasn't going to magically disappear because I beat TJ Alexander.
On paper it would seem TJ and Jaice Wilds would have the advantage. As the “established” tag team they should mop the floor with Eden and I. Then again they couldn't mop the floor with eNVy. I guess that's not that much of an insult.
Nash and Vespertine probably have more experience mopping floors.
All jokes aside, are Alexander and Wilds going to coexist? Last week TJ was talking about possibly finding a new partner. It seems like that relationship is on shaky ground. I mean I'd be pretty pissed off if I was Wilds.
TJ you might be walking around with half of the Cruiserweight Tag Titles if it wasn't for Wilds. If I were you I may have gone to the booking committee and asked for anyone else. You're ambitious TJ, but the longer you associate yourself with Jaice Wilds, you're only hurting yourself.
It's hard to soar with a weight attached to you.
As for you Jaice, I hope you're just not sitting back and taking hit after hit. You've got to be a bit pissed off that all the blame is being put directly on your shoulders. I watched your match at Blast and it looked like you were giving it your all. You just happened to fall short.
That shouldn't mean Jaice Wilds should be a scapegoat.
As for my partner and I? Zero issues.
This might be because we haven't had the chance to meet in person. We haven't had any reason to butt heads. We both want the same thing this week. We want to win.
When I look at Johnny Eden I see a kid confident he can accomplish anything. I believe he has a long and prosperous career ahead of him. He reminds me a bit of myself back in the day.
This kid is going places. No weight attached.
Sure he might be a bit bright eyed and bushy tailed. That's to be expected. This is Action Wrestling and being able to compete here is a big deal. It doesn't matter what you've done before this. The pinnacle of this business is right here.
I've wrestled all around the world and believe me, Action Wrestling is top notch.
I like this kid though. He's got the ability, and he's not scared to get into this ring with some of the best. I might rag on TJ and Jaice, but make no mistake. They are some of the best in the world.
They need to remember the same is true about Muru and Johnny Eden.
The more I think about it, the more good things I have to say about Eden. He could have bitched and complained about being saddled with an old dog like me, but he didn't. He's been nothing but respectful. I think we might be able to teach each other a thing or two.
Plus he offered to pay for my drinks after the match. That's one way to win me over. It will be nice to celebrate our victory.
I hope Alexander and Wilds have kissed and made up. I want them to be on the same page going into this match. I want them running all cylinders. When Johnny Eden and I beat them, I don't want there to be any excuses.
I don't need people backstage, or the writers for the online dirt sheets saying Muru got lucky, again. When it comes to my short career in Action Wrestling, luck has had nothing to do with it. Eventually people are going to have to take me seriously. Until then I'll keep proving them wrong.
So I hope the Aerial Assassins are ready. I'd prefer them at their best, but a win is a win. I believe it was Gerard Angelo who said something along those lines. I like to play within the rules, but I can't help it if something happens because of a lover's quarrel.
If you two need to, feel free to point fingers. I'll just stand in the middle of the ring with my arm raised.
This has the chance to be one hell of a match boys. I know I'm looking forward to it. It definitely is the kind of match that can get a crowd going. The fans love their high flying and flipping. Who wouldn't, it's exciting.
I've heard it's even been known to turn women into boxed cake batter.
When the bell rings, you'll be getting my best. I hope everyone else can match my energy.
