But don't worry there's still a lot of darkness in this old noggin tagged |
Everything begins at the 1up arcade bar in Denver. With days until the next Clash show was set to premiere in the city, Niobe thought she might take up residence at a hotel close by while enjoying whatever nightlife this place offered up. What better way to waste time than at an arcade with music and good drinks to go around?
On this night, Niobe is standing at a Pirates of the Caribbean pinball machine, tapping her foot to the sounds of the live band while watching her ball bounce around the board and light it up like Christmas. As she’s focused on hitting a high score, a camera crew followed behind Jade Riley as they attempted to make their way through the small crowds of people.
Jade Riley: There you are. This place is full of energy, but thanks for letting us tag along with you. We would have been on time had someone not taken that wrong turn.
Niobe didn’t see this, but Jade shot a nasty glare at one of their camera men who gulped and glanced away, not wanting to explain himself.
Niobe: I gave you dorks the option to follow me, or meet me at the arena to do this. Glad you actually made it instead of getting lost. Hope you guys are ready to do this. I think the band’s about to go on a break, if the noise is a little too much for y’all.
Jade Riley: It’s fine. Whenever you’re ready Niobe.
Niobe frowned as the last of her balls fell between the bumpers and a ‘game over’ flashed on the LED screen in front of her. She was so close too. She slapped her hand lightly against the glass and wandered off to find another pinball game to play, fully expecting the crew to follow right behind her.
”I had the chance to capture a title in this place not too long ago and even though I didn’t hold that damn thing for very long, I did everything in my power to keep it securely around my waist. Then Addy comes along and ruins the party, taking off with the title. She was the better of us two that night, it pains me to say and I’ve had a lot of time to sit and reflect about it.
Niobe comes to a stop at a Family Guy themed one and slips in a coil, half focusing on that and the fact that she was trying to shoot this promo at the same time.
”There’s other things to work towards in this company, and that wasn’t the only thing I could win. There’s this little Omega Championship Gauntlet match that’s happening and I wouldn’t be wrong to say I have my eye on that little prize too.”
Jade Riley: Even though the belt is held by that…psycho clown? You’ve had him as a tag partner, and faced off in singles competition against him.
Niobe sighed, releasing another ball into the fray.
”Ugh don’t remind me. I wasn’t thrilled with the tag team idea, and whatnot but watching that hoss fest he had against Green? Hoo boy that was pretty slick, I tell ya. Thought for sure Green would walk out of that one, but I guess scary clowns are the new kind of championship material. Who would of thought? Hats off to the nutcase. I’d say keep looking over your shoulder, but I doubt he really cares about who’s coming.
You’ve got Jay Best, who for all intents and purposes, is pretty much dust in the wind and doesn’t amount to anything in this match. Easy pickings.
Mick "The Mountain" Vasiliev, who in the blue hell is that? I can’t find a bit of info on him at all. Another dust cloud.
Then here comes the trailer park princess reject Mercedes. What has she done lately? Anything? Help me out here guys, you usually hear things. No? Huh. Weird. Let’s hope she can find her way out of the trash pile that is her life and get to the match in one piece.
Former champ Green. The former champ coming to re-claim his title or get slapped into a brick wall by Sicko? Either way, I want to sit on the turnbuckle and eat my popcorn to watch that shit go down. Forget everything else, I want to see that.”
The game over flashed again, and she sighed, leaning sideways against the machine to look at the camera.
”So where does that leave me? The oddball out. A mere shadow in the match, eyes in the grass watching the silly little zebra run about without a care in the world and waiting for an opportunity to strike. Sure no one really expects me to win, but then again does anyone expect Jay Best to win or this Mick fellow…or even Green again? Hell no.
I’m not gonna do what I have to, I’m just gonna wait and watch. Expect the unexpected. I’m not saying I won’t be, but…you never know.”
Niobe salutes the camera and walks off.
