“You know, I would be lying if I said that this is what I expected when I woke up this morning.”
Teo leans back in a folding chair, his hands steepled in front of an expression that can only be described as difficult to decipher. Through steady breathing he continues speaking, with a tone inlaid with a razor sharp focus.
“And right now Gerard Angelo is thinking in the back of his mind whether he’s about to end up in the middle of a pile of stomping feet in the fetal position. After all, he’s up against a man who beat him once before and a hungry challenger, and the man watching his back is the same man whose back Gerard drove a knife into and stole the world from.
How can you trust someone like that?”
Teo smiles now, but not a smile of joy, this is the smile a shark might wear upon seeing a wounded swimmer.
“I’m not saying that it wouldn’t tickle me to turn and walk away from that ring, leaving Gerard to a well deserved beating, hell I might frame it on my wall at this point…
But here’s the thing.
That’s not who I am, it’s never who I was.
When you live your life the way I do, when you put hope, trust even that people are fundamentally good, you end up with a lot of knife scars in your back, if you know what I mean. Some might call it jaded, others might call it smart.
But the simple fact is that I am not Gerard Angelo’s opponent this week, I am his partner. I don’t like it, but we don’t get to wrestle only matches we like. If we did I guarantee you Gerard wouldn’t be in the situation he has put himself into at Blast.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. This week, the fallen god (and that’s not a compliment Odin), and Muru have the chance to put one over on the World Champion and the most Recent World Champion.
And Gerard needs me. He can’t handle both of these guys, hell he couldn’t handle one of them.
They’re probably waiting for me to do it, after all. Walk away from the ring and let Gerard reap what he has sown.
And you know what, I’m almost talking myself into it…
But no, I don’t think that’s what is going to happen this week, fellas. Because unlike certain people I could mention, I’ll be damned if Teo Blaze ever puts his own needs before the match. When that bell rings, a tag team partnership is a sacred bond, something I have always held true, even if your partner doesn’t deserve it, you owe it to the fans and to yourself to give it your all to win that match, personal animosities be damned!”
Teo's eyes narrow as he speaks, his gaze piercing through the camera with unwavering intensity.
"And let's not forget who we're up against here. Odin Balfore, the self-proclaimed 'All-Father,' and Muru, Two formidable opponents with a lot to gain against us, Gerard. They'll stop at nothing to tear us apart, to take us down, to prove that they are the true forces to be reckoned with in Action Wrestling."
He leans forward, his voice lowering to a growl as he continues, his fists clenching with determination.
"But they underestimate us, Gerard. They underestimate the power of teamwork, of trust, of resilience. They think they can break us, but they have another thing coming. Because when push comes to shove, when the chips are down and the pressure is on, we rise. We rise above the chaos, above the doubt, above the pain. We rise as champions.
I know that you haven’t forgotten what that word means Gerard. Even as you’ve compromised your own definition, even though we both know that you couldn’t get the job done against me in a fair fight, I think that the one thing we have in common is that urge, that fire to win."
Teo's expression softens slightly as he looks directly into the camera, addressing not only Gerard but also the millions of fans watching around the world.
"Because when it comes down to it, when that bell rings and the crowd roars, we'll be ready. Ready to fight, ready to win, ready to show the world what we're made of. So, Gerard, let's do this. Let's show Odin and Muru what we're capable of. Let's show them that we're not just a couple of wrestlers—they're not just fighting Teo Blaze and Gerard Angelo. They're fighting Champions. Symbols of resilience, of determination, of the undying spirit of Action Wrestling.
For one match, you can embody all those ideals that you claim to believe in, Gerard. You can be what you never could, and what I have been since I walked in that door.
Or maybe you’ll give into the paranoia. Maybe my words fall on deaf ears and you turn back into that same snake that we all know you are in your heart of hearts.
The same snake that I cut the head off of at Blast.
But this week, the choice is yours, Gerard. Who do you want to be in this match? The villain, the schemer, the manipulator?
Or do you want to know what it’s like, even for one match, to see the world the way that I always have?"
Teo chuckles, his voice softening slightly.
“You know, despite himself, Brady Bolt may have had a stroke of genius pairing us up. If it weren’t for that World Championship, we might have found some common ground, Gerry.
But that title, it does things to people. Brings out their true nature every time.
Let’s see what it brings out this week.”
With those final words, Teo stands up from his chair, his eyes ablaze with thought, determination, and emotion as the scene fades.
