The scene opens as we see Jonny Cedrone in a familiar place – inside his Chicago penthouse apartment. He’s standing at the huge panoramic window overlooking the city of Chicago, with a glass of whiskey in hand. He begins to speak, still looking out the window.
“Pain. Suffering. Agony.”
“Those are just three words that come to mind whenever I think about bein’ in the ring with Jessie Lee.”
“Win, lose or draw, whenever you stand across the ring from Jessie Lee, you feel it for a long, long time afterwards.”
“This time I was able to get some sense of retribution from the previous time we fought. You know, that time she beat me for the US Championship? Yeah, this time I did exactly what I said I was goin’ to do. I got my hand raised in victory. There may’ve been no US Championship on the line, but the stakes were high as it were.”
Jonny drinks the last bit of his whiskey, then walks over to the wet bar.
“Mathematically, the thirtieth entrant has the advantage bein' the freshest. They have everything in their favor! It’s vital to be the thirtieth entrant in the Havoc Rumble! Now, not gonna lie to ya and tell ya that I know the actual statistics of who has won each Havoc Rumble and what entrant they were, but I am gonna tell ya that the only thing that matters is that after my win last week on Clash, I’m onto my next step of my mission of becomin’ this year’s number thirty entry and ultimately winnin’ the Havoc Rumble!”

Jonny pours himself some more whiskey, puts the bottle away and takes a sip before walking over to his couch. He unbuttons a button on his suit jacket, sits down on the couch, sets his glass on his glass coffee table, leans forward and rests his elbows on his knees.
“At AW Blast, I face a familiar foe in Doc Holiday to crown the number thirty entrant. But before that we have the “privilege” of bein’ tag team partners at the next Clash.”
“How well are we gonna get along? Probably about as well as Republicans and Democrats. I have my way of doin’ things and he has his way. That, in and of itself, is respectable and expected. But the last time he and I were involved in a Tag Team match, we were across the ring from one another. If I remember right, I was teamin’ with Niobe Martin and he was teamin’ with Jody Madrox. What I DO remember is the fact that he stood in the corner barkin’ orders at Jody while Jody saw the majority of the action and took the bulk of the beating. Another thing that I remember is that even though Jody took the beating, it was you who took the pin, Doc.”
“Now, let me let you in on a little secret Doc. You’re not gonna push me around like you tried to do with Jody. You remember how Jody finally bucked back at ya after takin’ so much abuse from ya? I won’t take it as long as he did.”
“Now, don’t get me wrong! I have the utmost respect for you and your abilities in the ring and your accomplishments here in AW. I’m hopin’ that the Doc Holiday I get at Clash is the same Doc that we’ve been seein’ in this tournament so far. You're a great fighter and there's some heat between us that's only gonna reach a boilin’ point at Blast, but in the spirit of competition and because I want nothin’ more than to get this win Monday night, I’m more than willin’ to put our differences aside and go into this fight as partners. We’ll settle our business at Blast, but if you even look like you’re gonna get outta line, we’ll settle business a lot sooner than expected.”
Jonny takes a sip of his whiskey, swirls the glass a little and tips it towards the camera as a toast.
“We’re not the only ones who don’t always see eye-to-eye in this match though. Our opponents DRAUGR and Cipher have some heat between them as well. In fact, damn it all, I have history with every single person in this match except the referee! DRAUGR just took my US Title from me. Cipher and his partner took the Tag Titles from Gerard and myself.”
“It seems that my retribution mission continues this week. I got my retribution on Jessie Lee last week. This week it looks like I get to claim retribution on both of our opponents! I’m excited for this! Now I can’t wait for Monday night!”
“DRAUGR, I’m really not gonna waste a lot of time and energy on you in this promo. Everything that I want to say to you, I’ll say with my fists on Monday night! You beat me for the US Title. Congratulations. That’s all you get from me. Monday night, I’m gonna make you pay for takin’ the one thing that means the world to The People and me!”
“Cipher…you I have respect for. You’re goin’ into this fight and every fight you’re in with the right state of mind. You wanna be the best. You wanna prove that you deserve to be named among the best this industry has to offer. Monday night, you get that opportunity when you stand across the ring from Doc Holiday and yours truly! I’m sorry you’ve been paired with who you’ve been paired with, but I won’t hold that against ya! But I’ll say the same thing I said to my own partner, don’t confuse my respect for weakness.”
“DRAUGR and Cipher, once that bell rings, only one thing matters to me and that’s winnin’! So come Monday night, it’s time to knuckle up so I can shut you up!”
The scene fades to black as Jonny takes another sip of whiskey before leaning back in his couch.
