The scene opens up inside a somewhat lit up bedroom of a hotel room. The shades are drawn, but some of light shines through, to show the room and the king size bed that is in the middle of it all. A loud noise all of a sudden draws our attention to the nightstand where a cell phone alarm starts to sound. It's the sound of an old time bell alarm clock that used to just annoy the fuck out of people and wouldn't shut off unless you stopped it manually. A figure stirs in bed, groaning not wanting to wake up just yet, they reach over to turn it off, but knocks the phone off the nightstand and in between the nightstand and bed.
"FUCK!"
The sound is the voice of none other than Action Wrestling Superstar, Doc Holiday. He slides the black silk covers off of his body to show that he is wearing nothing but black Nike shorts. He rolls out of bed and sits on the ledge, reaching down to retrieve his phone and shut off the alarm. He sets it down and then puts his hands on his face and rubs his eyes, wiping the sleep from his eyes as he yawns. He gets up and turns on the lights, bringing light to the whole room and his slim yet muscular form, highlighted by his six pack and various tattoos he's collected over the years. He grabs a black robe nearby and throws it on, before heading into the bathroom. All of a sudden his phone rings, the words "BEST BRO IN THE WORLD" pops up with a picture of Jens Jett on the screen. He slides it open.
"WHAAAAAAAZZZZUP?" an excited Jens exclaims.
"Not much, literally just woke up." Doc replies groggily.
"I haven't been to sleep yet! The party is always going on!" Jens says excitedly.
"Well I'd love to be there, but I kinda need to focus, I'm facing a guy who before Match Madness, had never beat me." Doc mentions.
"Jody Madrox...again? Man with a name like that sounds like he keeps rocks in his pockets, like smooth, shiny ones. Not crack, I don't stereotype." Jens says, trying to cover all his bases.
"He's definitely a character, that's for sure. We've even had to partner up before. All though unsuccessfully, which I can say was probably my fault." Doc admits.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, is that Doc Holiday taking accountability for his actions?" Jens mockingly.
"It is what it is, I mean he's not a bad dude, he's just a very different cat, with different motives and way he does things." Doc says describing Jody pretty accurately.
"Wasn't he trying to fuck All Beef Patty, Vespertine, and Karlie Nash?" Jens says jokingly.
"Man I don't know about any of that shit, but he definitely is a dawg. I am unsure of his motives sexually, but I'd just tell him that you miss one hundred percent of the shots you don't take." Doc says somewhat matter of factly
You can now hear Jens voice trail a little as loud music starts to play. "Vodka Red Bull!" Jens shouts at someone. "You don't have Vodka Red Bull?" Jens Questions whoever he's talking to, obviously a bartender. "WHAT IS THIS COMMUNIST RUSSIA?"
"Yo man, what the fuck are you doing?" Doc asks
Still not listening Jens keeps talking to someone else "No I don't want what other shitty knock energy drink and vodka." Jens thinks for a second "Just give me a Captain and Coke" a pause and then, "Pepsi? For fucks sake what kind of establishment are you running here? You're going to get a terrible review on my new Youtube channel!"
Noticing that Jens is no longer listening to their conversation, Doc just ends the call. His friend is definitely ADHD as they come. He takes a moment to look at himself in the mirror, taking a deep breath in and exhales out, before scrolling through his phone and finding the camera app on his phone. He has to send out a message for the Action Wrestling universe.
"Survive and advance is the motto, right? That's what Coach Jimmy V told his N.C. State Wolfpack when they made it all the way to the finals of the NCAA tournament. I guess that motto would've better suited our Match Madness tournament, but I mean it's all I can do right? I survived Sicko and the rising star T.J. Alexander. Now I face a familiar foe who had my number last time, a foe who took advantage of me wondering what the hell was going on. Basically, it was a clown setting up his debut that caused my downfall. Then I faced this same clown in a three way match to get into the match I'm currently in. He tried to break me down, psychologically, calling me out on my bullshit, and things I've said before, but hadn't changed. It was relentless and what some might call hardcore, but nonetheless I kicked the beast, but god it was a killer pain in the ass. Oh, before I forget, let me bring up the fact that T.J. Alexander was in the match and didn't fuck it up for me. I had to be the one to make sure I took destiny into my own hands. Just like I have to be the one who takes my destiny into my own hands on Monday."
Doc looks away from the camera for a second, collecting his thoughts and staring at the man he battles more than anyone else, himself. Whether it's negativity or his past, it's all the same.
"Jody, my brother, it seems like lately it's been a lot of me and you lately. For the most part in the early days it was a lot of me beating you and crushing the dreams you held of becoming the champion of Television, whatever the fuck that means. But like I said before, you bounced back and established yourself elsewhere, which took real dedication and trust in the process. Right? I think we're not so different as we seem. Sure, in the past I've distanced myself from even comparing myself to you and while some of those things ring true, I still think there's one thing that above all we share. That thing is something people call resilience. The ability to take the losses and heartbreak, then turn around and shine when we were counted out. You've grown to be quite the resilient one, you had never beat me before and at Match Madness you caught me slippin and distracted. Kudos to you, you were the better man that night, but then you turned around and lost to Tatiana Jolee. That was tough, but you showed everyone that you belonged here the whole time. You lost your beloved Omega Championship, but you followed that up with a HUGE win over Tatiana Jolee. We are talking about THE WOMAN who took down the LONGEST REIGNING World Champion we've seen in this organization! Now we face off again and it isn't you who made it back to me, but me that has made it back to you. You see I have nothing to lose and that's what makes me dangerous. I'll get mine regardless, I won't let little distractions weigh me down or keep me from my ultimate goal. I'll find my way to the World Title, whether it's in the Havoc Rumble, The All In match, some tournament or battle royale. I WILL FIND MY WAY, and when I do, I will stop at nothing to make sure that I end up with the World Title on my waist. For now, though I need to focus on putting one foot in front of the other. Making sure that I take the necessary steps to get their, right now you're a necessity to prove that I still have what it takes for this company to consider me relevant right? Because, what is my worth if it's not winning this tournament and basically given the keys to a guaranteed title shot? It's nothing, If I don't win this tournament, then it's even less than that If I walk into Havoc and lose from the number thirty spot. I mean Lissie Hope won it last year from the spot before me! It just goes to show that the two 'D's' are what effect you the most, 'Determination' and 'Destiny' and I'm not talking about the two strippers Jens met at the Spearmint Rhino. I'm talking about being a king when kingdom comes, right now Jody we're the ones that are forging our path and although we're facing each other again, I'm more than ready to answer the call and advance to the finals of this tournament. Best of luck my man, but just know that I'm going to keep you honest and not let the bullshit get to me, because...THIS IS WAR!!!"
FADE TO BLACK.
