Hi folks, narrator here! Back once again with another day in the life of your fabulously charismatic and charming King of Kem and all round good guy Andre Jenson.
Today, the aforementioned Sir Jenson (first of his name) is doing a rare documentary style interview on his grounds. Jenson is all smiles as he shows off the latest ride in his amusement park, one that portrays the history of the two gents.
The interviewer, walking alongside him, is chatting about something or other to the camera, setting the scene while Jenson walks alongside him. Then Jenson suddenly starts paying attention as the interviewer starts talking about wrestling.
“Mr Jenson, however, is now setting his mind to the next big event where he and the other losers face off in a big match.” The interviewer says, bringing a small sign of irritation to Jenson’s face. Jenson, being the consummate professional that he is though, continues to be quiet as they walk, waiting for his cue.
“Where it went wrong for these people can point to key parts of their matches where they lost to superior opposition in the tournament. The finalists of the tournament face one another later that night for the right to face the World Champion Teo Blaze, who has been a breakout star in recent months.”
Jenson does a double take at this, furrowing his brow as the interviewer digs more into his hot takes. Eventually, the interviewer finally gets around to asking a question.
“So how does it feel going into this match?” He asks, as a rollercoaster train shaped as Teo’s face screams by.
“First of all”. Jenson says, tersely. “I take exception to the framing that we’re losers in this match. Not a single person in this match can be considered a loser. Look at my team for example, we have owned more gold combined than Fort Knox in our careers. I don’t have to go through the credentials of everyone on this team, it’s self explanatory and obvious with how much we’ve won through the years that absolutely none of us can be defined as “Losers”. And it’s the same with the other team by the way, I mean look they have Karlie Nash in there. Karlie and I have been to war for many years, Karlie is a hall of fame first ballot ticket. Karlie is a living legend and every time she goes out there she goes for the win. She has a winning attitude, she doesn’t know the meaning of defeat and believe me, we tried to beat her enough times.
That sort of attitude will rub off on the rest of the team as well. Vespertine and Jody Madrox aren’t quitters, they definitely aren’t losers. Nash will guide them to do what they can to win this match on one of the biggest stages there is and DRAUGR? Well, he doesn’t need help when he has Sara Pettis in his corner.
4 very different and very capable opponents here. Are they as accomplished as my team? No. But then again not many people can put their number of titles on the table and compare them to me, never mind the rest of the team. Are they as hungry? Sure. They wanna make names and take asses. They look at our team and see the firepower we have and want to knock it off. It’s one of the things you always have to be aware of when you have been in the game as long as I have and had the fortune to make a name as big as I have, as big as Angelo, Jessie and Niobe have.”
Jenson looks at the interviewer again, side eyeing almost.
“And secondly.” He continues, Teo is not a breakout star. Teo has been the heartbeat of this company for years. Everything he gets now is deserved and a culmination of everything we put in together when we reformed the two gents in the first place. I could not be prouder of my friend and brother. But to call him a breakout star is just insulting to the years of hard work we both put in to create moments for the fans and delight the audiences worldwide.”
“I didn’t mean to insult!” Says the interviewer, rather taken aback. “I was just saying in the context of the post gents days!”
Jenson laughs, it’s not an amusing laugh, it’s more incredulous than anything. “There isn’t post gents days! I’ll have you know that we are still one and we always will be. Just because we’re not booked together it doesn’t mean we’re not still a team. The two of us always will be even if we’re doing different things. The idea that we’re not together is just nonsense.
Also I take issue with your inference that I, the loser, and Teo the breakout star are not of the same quality. We won title after title together, it was both of us. He won singles titles, I won singles titles. We both mastered the art of wrestling and neither of us has ever given an inch in our lives to anyone, we’re uncompromisingly, unwaveringly committed to our fans and this art. If our paths make one of us a loser and the other a breakout star? Then what are we even doing here?
Besides, you people have short memories. If you think that I’m a loser and Teo is better than I am you obviously missed our head to head records.”
“I….” The interviewer tries to interject, but Jenson cuts him off..
“But you obviously weren’t saying that, were you? Because if you were then you wouldn’t be a good journalist and if you were a bad journalist I wouldn’t be standing here in front of you with this MASSIVE Gents rollercoaster in the background talking to you after inviting you to my home.”
He smiles, nodding to make sure the not so subtle point hits home.
“I’ll edit this segment in post?”
“Yeah, you will.”
