Things fade into a shot of an empty playground at night, small patches of snow on the ground leftover from the last flurry that happened. There are the typical sets on a place like this, usually filled with kids running all around and having fun. This time instead of screaming kids, there’s only one occupant at this place. Sitting at the very top on the floor by the twisting slide going down is Niobe. Clothed in a black puffy winter coat and a hat on her head, gloves on her hands, she sits and stares out at pretty much nothing.
Perhaps it is the sky, or the rare plane that flies across the sky. There isn’t much going on at night anyway.
”I guess Jody proved he was the better person to face off against Roman Gunn for that Omega Championship. Hats off to him. I came this close to having a chance at Roman for that belt, and possibly being the one to dethrone the man. Then I get knocked off the top rope and crash into the mat, a complete failure yet again.
Just another failure.”
Niobe removes her hands from her pockets, pulling out some random small photo cards of various wrestling stars from AW and a lighter. She pulls one out of the stack, flicks the lighter and holds it to the corner until the edge starts to curl and burn before throwing it to the ground, watching it with a disinterested look as it slowly starts to turn into ash.
”One small distraction, and everything went up in flames. Maybe chasing after the big things just isn’t in my cards this year. I’ve had several chances to win titles, all of them ending in disaster. Couldn’t even crack Doc’s skull open properly, so what does that say about me?
That I’m not worth the time to throw into championship matches. Not until I clean up my act and stop being such a stupid ass about everything. There’s no effort, no nothing. My opponents can see it, they can smell it. They don’t worry because it’s just me and there’s no pressure to do anything major. I wonder how the others do it, be successful and have all this adulation of the fans and whatnot.”
She keeps on lighting more of the photo cards and throwing them to the ground.
”Now, I have to face off against Vespertine who’s been on a bit of a tear lately. She even stole Sitcom’s belt, which was a feat I couldn’t even attempt to be successful at. All to teach him a lesson. Well what lesson was that? I didn’t see it. You just made him more mad that you stole like a petty thief something that didn’t belong to you.
Now I’m going to steal something from you.
Everything. I think I’m going to enjoy putting you out of your misery.”
