The scene fades into a shot of a brick printed banner hanging in a small room backstage, backlit by different colored lights to give the small area just enough light to see exactly what’s going on for the time being. There’s a shuffle of footsteps off camera before a steel chair is opened, the sound echoing off of the walls. It’s set down in front of the rolling camera, backwards, as Niobe takes a seat on it. Her arms rest on the back of the seat and her chin rests on top of her arms.
The expression on her face showed that she wasn’t too happy at the moment.
Then again, when was she happy?
”Turmoil has unfortunately, or fortunately depending on who you ask, come and gone. I am not sitting here in this space as the final Women’s Champion before said title is retired, which is unfortunate. I wish I was. But shit happens, I screwed up at the very end like usual, and we stitch ourselves together and continue to move on. Props to Mercedes for sticking it out.
Niobe sighs softly, tapping her fingers a bit.
”Now that the chaos that was Turmoil has ran off into the sunset like a scared animal, we turn our attention back to the upcoming Monday Night Clash show emanating from dusty ol’ San Antonio. I’m going to be in this little triple threat match against a couple familiar names, names I’ve had the utmost displeasure of facing off against before. TJ Alexander and Jody Madrox.
Now this isn’t just any run of the mill triple threat match, no no. This triple threat match carries with it a very tantalizing add on. The winner will be the number 1 contender to the Omega Championship, currently held by Roman Gunn. Said title was just defended at Turmoil against Jaice and the match was just so much fun to watch. Lots of back and forth for a while, but Roman proved why he is the undisputed champion. 280 days, by the gods.”
Niobe chuckles a little, shaking her head.
”So I decided a couple days ago, to look into the history behind this title, so I have some idea of what exactly it’s all about. Otherwise it’s just a strap with no meaning whatsoever.
Anyway…
This Omega Championship was created to be the star of AW’s developmental brand. To propel the newbies, the rookies, the new fish into the future of this company. Which is pretty cool. Myself, I am no newbie. I’ve been doing this for a few years now and know what it’s like to win that very first championship and rise up the ranks to be the very best. I’ve seen people come and go, made a few friends along the way if you can call it that. Here in AW, things have been tough going I will admit but it hasn’t stopped me from anything.
Not sure why I’ve been dropped into this match for a title like the Omega but I’m not gonna complain about it. It’s a title, and if I were to win it, I would give it the place and attention it deserves. Show those rookies out there what it means to be the biggest on the top of the mountain. Maybe give it new life so to speak.
Ideas, ideas…”
Niobe taps her fingers, looking to be deep in thought for a few minutes.
”I have to face off against TJ Alexander and Jody Madrox. I’ve already had to face them several times in the past, and I’ve managed to kick both their worthless asses each time. It gets boring, it really does. Guess I gotta do it again.”
Niobe rolls her eyes, sighing.
”First off is TJ Alexander. Someone who should really think about keeping that gaping hole you call a mouth shut. I do what I do because I love it, win or lose. I work hard through everything, and I’m not gonna give up because some twat told me to go home. Maybe I need to bash your head in again, because you still haven’t gotten the message. Last time we met, you ended up looking at the lights. I’d be careful if I were you so try me.”
A smile spreads on her face.
”Then Jody Madrox. Interesting but odd guy. Talented but I think he needs to lay off the booze for a little while and quit using nobodies to speak for you. Speak for yourself, or as a matter of fact, don’t speak at all. Let me hit you with a few words of wisdom.
You have no focus, at all. You talk about this and that while not even knowing which way is up. You’ve lost it. Completely. You have the will to win, and possibly unseat Roman in the future but the call of being a drunk idiot is too strong for even you.
I have eyes on that title, and we’ll see if things fall in my favor. I could definitely use it.
Tired of the bullshit.
This is done. Fuck the haters, and watch your backs.”
Niobe gets up from the chair and kicks it over with a scream, as the scene fades to black.
