Hey folks! Narrator here back once again with a day in the life of your next Cruiserweight Champion Andre Jenson! Today, Andre is getting a checkup after his introduction to a whole bunch of thumb tacks courtesy of our current Champion on CruiserClash.
“Well, the welts have gone, you didn’t pick up any infections. You’re free to compete. Although with the state of your back when you came in on Tuesday, I don’t know why you do it.”
Jenson shakes his head, annoyed at this statement. “How many times have we been through this doc? You know why I do it.”
“Yeah yeah it’s for the fans, but…”
Jenson cuts him off.
“Yes. It’s for the fans, there is no but to it. Teo and I do everything we do for the fans, we fight with honour and part of that is to sacrifice your body every time we go out there as if it’s our first fight and as if it’s our last.
Now, although Teo and I have a synergy you wouldn’t normally see together, it doesn’t mean we have the same motivations, for example. With me, I go out there as if it’s my first fight because I have to prove myself every single day to the fans and the business that I belong here.
I perform for my closest friends. Every single person who buys a ticket to see the gents is one of them. I do it for them, I just want to put on a good show, impress them and make sure they go home happy. That’s what I am, a guy who likes to make people happy.
So, when I won the number one contender’s match and heard absolutely nothing from the champion, I went out there to give the crowd what they wanted. I went out there to tell them that I will be a champion for them, not go and spend all my time in a strip joint partying away because I won a championship. I went out there to put a friendly challenge down to the current champion, a man who deserved success but decided the fans didn’t deserve him.
So what does he do in return?
Blindside me! Like a knave! Assaults me with weapons and thumb tacks and all sorts of chicanery, after setting up an elaborate ruse like some sort of cunning trickster!
If I wasn’t so annoyed I’d be impressed! That sort of lateral thinking is a great skill to have in D&D, but not such a great move to make when your opponent is one of the gents. I’m not entirely sure he knows how I am and what I’m capable of, and he doesn’t realise that we’re just the same..
Airborne assaulted me with a chair, covered me in tacks, hit a 450 off a 20 foot ladder breaking my body through a table. I’m sure that got quite a lot of people jumping out of their seats in a holy shit moment.
I did it off the top of a Cell, just to save my friend.
Sure, Airborne is the champion and has a hot streak going right now that can rival most top guys.
I did the same, and beat one of the greatest of all time for the title.
You see for every boast Airborne has, to paraphrase a very famous catchphrase. “Jenson’s done it.” And I’ve done it with a smile on my face, for the fans.
I didn’t do it to prove to myself that I used to suck and don’t any more. I didn’t do it to hurt myself so I can feel the first thing I have in years and I damn well didn’t do it to assuage my own ego.
I’ve done it, and will continue to do it for every kid out there who wants to see the gents prevail against dark forces and I do it happily, for them.
Turmoil will be no different. There will be tables broken, ladders jumped off, chairs smashed against backs and bodies shattered. The only difference between me and Airborne, is that I’ll enjoy it. Because the party with the fans on CruiserClash?
Well that’ll just be special."
