The scene opens up inside what looks to be a doctor's office. The walls are painted a calming off white color some might call slipper satin. The rest of the waiting room is decorated with a few plants, which are mainly low maintenance succulents. Two black leather couches sit opposite of each other with a large solid oak coffee table in between them which has at least 10-15 magazines ranging from beauty to sports and everything in between. On one couch sits Action Wrestling star, Doc Holiday. He is dressed in a charcoal gray Armani suit and a gold Rolex on his left wrist. He stares over to the person on the other couch who is none other, Jens Jett his assistant, if you could call him that. He is dressed in a tan Armani suit.
"I don't know how the fuck you talked me into this bullshit" Doc says annoyed at Jens.
"Listen man, lots of people see psychologists," Jens explains to him.
"I'm not crazy, I don't know why you think I need to see one" Doc says adjusting his Rolex.
"No one said you were, big guy. This is a sports psychologist, it's not even a regular psychologist." Jens explains.
"Why do I need to see a Sports Psychologist? I'm literally one of the biggest stars in AW" Doc says making an excuse for not needing to be there.
"People see Psychologist's all the time. I see mine twice a week! I'm practically financing his Porsche." Jens says jokingly, but reassuring his friend it's alright to have feelings or go through something.
"I don't have any problems man, my life is good. Great job, making money with all my businesses, got sponsorships, and I'm featured on a ton of media from articles to video games." Doc reminds Jens.
"I'd hate to break it to you, but you've been racking up L after L recently and we need your mind clear heading into Wrestler of the Year." a concerned Jens explains.
"First of all I'd still be TV champion if that damn oaf wouldn't have tried to distract me during my match." says Doc with anger in his voice.
"But you lost it and now you need to re-focus and get your mental strength back so you can go out there and win Wrestler of The Year!" Jens says trying to get Doc behind the idea.
"That was the plan regardless of my current losses to Downfall. I can't change the past, all I can do is forge a new path." Doc says to Jens.
Just then a portly woman comes from behind a door, she's wearing a typical dress with flowers on it and a white cardigan. She looks at the two men and speaks in a pleasant voice "Desmond, the doctor will see you now"
"Go get 'em, Des!" Jens says jokingly.
Doc just stares at Jens like he could burn a hole through him as he gets up. He straightens out his suit and follows the woman into a hallway as she takes him down with the same color walls as the reception area. She leads him to a room with a desk with two leather chairs in front of it and to the left the cliché leather sofa. On the wall hangs a certificate amongst sports memorabilia. 'Dr. Eli Abagnale' the name reads on the certificate from the University of William Penn. Doc takes a seat in one of the chairs as the lady exits the room. Just as Doc is about to reach into his jacket pocket for his phone, a gentleman enters the room, presumably Dr. Abagnale. He sits down at the desk across from Doc.
"Hello, I'm Dr. Eli" the Psychologist states.
"Oh so we're cool like that already?" Doc asks.
"I just figure it's easier than saying my last name," Dr. Eli replies back.
"Yeah, I understand that." Doc says still somewhat sizing up the doctor.
"Do you prefer Doc or Desmond?" Dr. Eli asks Doc, trying to make him more comfortable.
"No one really calls me Desmond. And if they do it's mainly to try and piss me off, because they think I hate my own name." Doc says.
"Do you hate your name?" Dr. Eli asks
"It's just a name given to me by two crackheads who couldn't take care of shit, but getting high and fucking. I was my mom's third child, do you think any of us had the same dad? My dad, well you could look at any young kid out there in the street and think, son of a bitch, that's probably my brother or sister." Doc says with a small chuckle, because wasn't that just so fucking typical?
"If you're more comfortable Doc you can move to the couch" Dr. Eli suggests as he listens to Doc spills out emotions.
"No thanks, it gives me casting couch vibes." Doc says bluntly.
"OK, no problem, just a suggestion. Moving on, tell me more about your dad, was he around much?" Dr. Eli asks as he starts recording the session on his voice recorder.
"Oh you talking about 'Bone'? Yeah he was here and there, he'd show up when I did something good. Like when we made it to the state playoffs in football or when I won state in wrestling. But other than that, I wasn't 'gangster' enough for him. I was too 'soft' for him apparently." Doc says.
"Did he ever say that to you?" Dr. Eli asked Doc to open up more.
Doc again just grins and lets out a small chuckle, because in his mind he has created what he perceives is the truth. "Did he have to? I wasn't a gang banger, but it wasn't by choice, my brother made sure I didn't turn out like him. He made sure I was protected by everyone. He made sure that everyone kept me safe, because I had a shot at making it out of there, even If they couldn't."
"So your father never came out and said you were too soft?" Dr. Eli rephrases the question.
"No, but it's just like the game of poker, if you pay enough attention your opponent will give you all you need by their actions alone." Doc replies back as if he's some sort of profound intellect.
"It's interesting that you say opponent, do you consider your dad an opponent?" Dr. Eli responds to Doc as he writes some things down in a notebook.
"No, I just look at him for what he is. A deadbeat, who can't hold a job, and never was there for me or his other kids. A fucking fiend who snorts or injects anything he can...that is when he's not in jail." Doc says incredibly biased towards his father.
"Are there no good memories with your father at all?" Dr. Eli asks genuinely interested.
"Nope." Doc says without hesitation.
"None whatsoever, not even when you won all these accolades in sports?" Dr. Eli responds back.
"Maybe before I knew better, but even then I was still young enough to know something wasn't right." Doc responds
"So there was a time when you didn't absolutely detest the man?" Dr. Eli asks curiously.
"I'm sure there are photos my grandma has of me smiling with him, but it's just a mask I put on, because I knew he wouldn't be around for long Back in jail or back on the streets." Doc says, revealing one of the reasons he most likely puts a barrier between him and most people.
"Doc, I hate to tell this to you, but you're stuck in phase two of the relationship most sons go through with their father." Dr. Eli explains to Doc. "At first we idolize our fathers and look at them like they can do no wrong. Then in the next phase we demonize them, pointing out all of their flaws, mistakes, or wrongs that they have done against us. That's where you are. It won't be until you Humanize him, will you be able to truly break free from this vicious cycle." Dr. Eli says, breaking down his reasoning.
"I think I've had about enough of this shit" Doc gets up from his chair and starts walking out.
"Doc, I think we should start meeting. Even if it's over Zoom" Dr. Eli says as Doc is walking out.
"Yeah, we'll see..." Doc says as his voice trails as he leaves.

The scene opens back up inside what looks to be a board room. There is a rather large conference table in the middle and a whiteboard with a projector screen above it. On the whiteboard is the tournament bracket for Wrestler of the Year with one match circled on it in red. It is the one labeled "Balfore" on top and "Holiday" below. All the chairs around the table except for one, that is where we find Action Wrestling superstar, Doc Holiday sitting, staring intently at the bracket. Studying it as if the key to success was there if you just knew where to look. He is dressed in just his button up shirt and red satin tie, his suit jacket hangs on the back of it. He gets up and walks up to the board and stands by it.
"Survive and Advance was the key to Jim Valvano and the North Carolina State Wolfpack in 1983. Just take it one game at a time, focus on that one at that given time. This above all else is my key to success in this tournament, because of anyone in this tournament, I've drawn the toughest competitor in this whole thing. You can say Tatiana is, you can say Downfall is, or even Mr. "All-In" himself, Gerard Angelo, but when it all comes down to it, Odin Balfore is the toughest draw right off the bat. I'll give him his due, because honestly this man deserves it, he's won almost every important title this organization has. Not only that, he comes out here every week and still competes at a high level. To hear others mock him and call him 'Oldin' Balfore, is disrespectful to one of this organization's elite! And while his mouth will probably spit nothing, but disrespect and judgment on my character, I'll do the opposite, because of the few people that I respect in this game, he's one of them. I hope that when it's all said and done, my accomplishments will be similar to his, with maybe some more accolades."
Doc pauses for a moment, raising his hand up and strokes his chin as if he had a beard.
"The only thing that Odin has over me is experience, and I won't lie, that can be a pretty big factor when it comes to this tournament. It's like March Madness, where the big boys like Duke, Kansas, North Carolina, and Michigan State run over every team they play. Do I really need to make the analogies for you on who each team is? Let's leave that up to them to bicker about. Anyways back to my point, in every tournament that March Madness has had there was a bracket buster that came out of nowhere and flipped the tournament upside down. That's my plan on Monday, I will bust everyone's bracket in every office pool around the nation. I plan on being that 9 seed Northern Iowa that takes out the mighty 1 seed Kansas. All I need to do is not overlook what is in front of me, because what is in front of me, is the toughest route to my ultimate goal. I want this so bad, I want to etch my name in the history books and I want it to start with me pinning Odin Balfore in the main event in the biggest tournament in wrestling! I will do whatever it takes for me to come out on top at Clash Monday, because...THIS IS WAR!!!"
