Monday Night CLASH was live from the MODA Center in Portland, Oregon, and the audience was buzzing from the show’s quality entertainment of high-profile matches and deliberative dramatic segments. However, the next part is about the Action Wrestling Tag Team Championship match set by the general manager, Alexander Pasternak, for his open challenge in particular. For one specific pairing, both women are looking to add tag team gold to their resume in the company. The broadcast transitions to the commentary table for Chris Avery and Billy to explain their perspectives.
Chris Avery: Welcome back to Monday Night CLASH from Action Wrestling! The MODA Center is on fire, and Oregon and Portland, never fail to give us a supportive atmosphere. Speaking of support, we have an exciting segment next featuring the 2023 Havoc Rumble Winner, Lissie Hope, and Undisputed Action Wrestling Cruiserweight Champion, Serenity Holmes!
Billy: Yes, these two title-hungry, wondering, greedy bitches accepted our stupid general manager’s open challenge since Ban Bros are dominating our division. Leave it to them to answer the question when they have nothing better to do.
Chris Avery: But what about last week, Billy?
Billy: What do you mean?
Chris Avery: You know what I mean! Bozo came out last week and summoned Raging Dead and Der Metzger from the dead before our eyes! They will be answering the Tag Team Championship Invitational Challenge, and we’re supposed to pretend everything is normal?!
Billy: Well, guess what? This is Action Wrestling, where we’ve seen it all in professional wrestling, and I’m not scared of a couple of dead bodies! I used to be all over them dead-bodied back in the day!
Chris Avery: ….What?
Billy: ….ADILENE FLOYD! TAKE IT AWAY!
After that comment by Billy, who will probably get a fine, the camera transitions the broadcast to the center of the ring, in which Adilene Floyd is prepared to announce the arrival of one of the teams at Guts and Glory.
Adilene Floyd: Ladies and gentlemen, introducing at this time the Undisputed Action Wrestling Cruiserweight Champion, Serenity Holmes, and the 2023 Havoc Rumble Winner, Lissie Hope!
The introductory thumping synths of “HER” by Megan Thee Stallion reverberates around the interior of the MODA Center, striking immediate positive reactions from the fans. However, the music suddenly changes to “Synthetic Sympathy” by Trash Boat, sparking a series of flashing lights to dance along to the rhythm of the music. Serenity Holmes and Lissie Hope leave the backstage area to be center stage, standing beside each other, looking confident and ready to present what they will say.
Crowd: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Both women walk down to the ring, enjoying the attention of the fans along the way, and Serenity keeps the cruiserweight championship belt over her right shoulder. On the other hand, Lissie is taking pictures from fans and shaking hands, involving herself with the Portland audience. Serenity climbs onto the steel steps before entering the ring wearing a black leather jacket. Her signature studded black hat turned backward, blue cargo pants, white Converses, and a shirt that reads “22nd Century Girl” graphically designed on the chest part.
Chris Avery: These two women had the biggest rivalry on CruiserClash for 2023, and after Evolution VI, they are forming a tag team to answer Alexander Pasternak’s open invitational. What a way life can change in a short time, especially when these two are involved. We know Lissie is the more experienced wrestler in tag team situations, but you never know what Serenity Holmes can bring.
Lissie’s fiery red hair bounces behind her ears, kept out of her face by a black headband. Her top is a leather bustiere with jeweled diamonds in the shape of a skeleton hand, and her black, leather boyshorts cling tight over her body connected with a stirrup to the leather boots. Lissie and Serenity are now in the middle of the ring, side by side with each other watching the audience chant their name the moment their intertwined entrance music has faded to silence. The Oregon locals value their time out here, but the two sisters are even happier to share the ring as a family rather than enemies at the time; On the other hand, the two receive microphones from a ringside crew member, and Serenity speaks up first holding her belt across her shoulder.
Crowd: LETS GO, LISSIE! LET'S GO, HOLMES! LET'S GO, LISSIE! LET'S GO HOLMES! LETS GO LISSIE! LETS GO HOLMES!
Serenity and Lissie are excited about the feedback they’re receiving for being together. Serenity keeps the microphone lowered, allowing the audience to continue cheering. Lissie pats her on the shoulder, and she speaks into the microphone when the audience becomes silent.
Serenity Holmes: A couple of months ago, Lissie and I were at each other’s throats on CruiserClash. We were ready to rip each other apart to become champions to the point our sisterhood was in jeopardy. However, the moment we laid it all in the ring, we understood what our relationship meant, and it meant more to us than this business. Sometimes, family means everything, and right now, we are here because we want to accomplish something we only tasted for a week. We want to become tag team champions!
Crowd: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Serenity looks at Lissie, who raises the microphone to her lips.
Lissie Hope: Again.
The one word response draws an ENORMOUS reaction from the crowd. A smile creeps out from her lips as she stares at the youthful and exuberant Serenity in front of her. When Serenity reaches out a hand for a high five, Lissie grabs it in midair and pulls her in for a hug.
Lissie Hope: I’ve seen my share of heartbreak. I’ve felt the lonely reality of abandonment here in Action Wrestling. When everyone who could’ve been in my corner has been systematically erased from Action Wrestling’s conscience, and I find myself forced to battle against the grain against a roster poisoned by a hierarchy that resents me. Where I’ve become persona non grata – constantly picked apart and victimized and screwed over, time and time again – where people are fearful to step into the firing lane or face the same fate I find myself in. Repeatedly.
She closes her eyes and exhales, not allowing a flood of emotions to pour out of her. But it’s drained on her mentally, her parsed lips and broken words exude a visceral amount of heartbreak.
Lissie Hope: But Serenity Holmes has my back. She goes to war for me. She’s willing to fight in battle alongside me. She wants to succeed with me. And I won’t ever let myself forget it!
The fans roar with cheers as Lissie and Serenity embrace in the center of the ring.
Serenity Holmes: You’ve pushed me to where I am now in this business. I’m the first-ever Undisputed Cruiserweight Champion, but I’ve never held an actual tag team championship. I never thought I would need someone to hold a tournament, let alone call someone a partner because this business is cutthroat as it gets, but who we are to turn on each other when Lissie and I have proven we can bring down the house any time.
Crowd: LISSIE! LISSIE! LISSIE! LISSIE! LISSIE! LISSIE! LISSIE! LISSIE! LISSIE! LISSIE!
Serenity Holmes: But tonight, we are together with a mission in mind that’s regarding the Action Wrestling Tag Team Championships and specifically to defeat the current champions, Ban Bros!
Crowd: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Serenity expected a positive reaction to the mention of the Tag Team Champions. Lissie didn’t become flustered and kept a strong composure offering Serenity her support.
Billy: Remember that Serenity Holmes is Corey Black's niece, so that things might be awkward.
Lissie Hope: I hold so much respect for Corey Black. Not so much Odin Balfore – a conniver and evildoer who has always operated as master commander of convenience and opportunism. A legend in only his own mind, but almost always fractures every fragile partnership he finds himself in once they can no longer offer him anything. But Corey? I can empathize with his plight, because he and I share the same type of warrior spirit – we ride through the battlefield, through enemy lines, with every arrow pointed in our direction. With every cannonball exploding in our paths, unearthing the cold, dead soil. Opening up a geyser to summon whatever lies below.
Serenity Holmes: We have two people to talk about.
Lissie Hope: People?
Serenity sighs.
Serenity Holmes: Bozo. Whatever you did, I hope you know what you’re doing because you just returned Raging Dead and Der Metzger from the dead!
Crowd: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Serenity Holmes: I don’t know what game you’re playing, but it’s hazardous. If there’s something I know about this supernatural stuff, the more you play with forces beyond your control, the more it will come back to haunt you. The dead must sleep and know you’ve just ruined the souls of two men. Raging Dead and Der Metzger may be under your control, but we’re not afraid of death nor what comes after it, not when we have a stronger connection than any magic you possess- WHAT THE HELL AM I EVEN SAYING?
With a laugh, Lissie stops her from advancing. She squeezes the cross hanging around her neck for comfort, so hard that the steel nearly breaks the flesh of her palm.
Lissie Hope: There’s been enough evil already in Action Wrestling. From dead-eyed psychopaths like Walter and Regan Voorhees to brain-eating cults that cannibalize their own – Philidor Holdings – to the unlikely and the unholy trio of Jill Park and Jake Paul and –
Finally, her voice breaks for a second and it takes her a moment to compose herself.
Lissie Hope: This company doesn’t need to rot from within anymore. The devil can’t be hiding in the cracks in the foundation. We can’t let it lift and hang in the air and consume everyone who’s ingested those fumes. Light needs to come through those cracks. Life and belief and success and happiness need to erase the grifters and the ghouls. We need to send Der Metzger and Raging Dead back where they fucking came from!
The fans roar with cheers!
Lissie Hope: There’s enough evil in this company already.
Serenity Holmes: Too much evil. It seems that’s the theme nowadays in Action Wrestling from Bozo all the way to Torture himself but this isn’t about evil nor is it about Ban Bros. It’s about us injecting new life into the tag team division of Action Wrestling and it starts with us at Guts and Glory when Lissie Hope and Serenity Holmes steps foot in the ring for the very first time not as partner but now as a tag team! Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to your next Action Wrestling Tag Team Champions, “Big Bank, Lil’ Bank!”
Serenity Holmes slams the microphone down and Lissie looks surprised by the name but certainly approves of it. “Synthetic Sympathy” replays around the interior of the MODA Center as she looks across behind her to Lissie giving her a high five then walks over to another corner for both women to stand on the middle turnbuckles receiving praise form the audience.
