Niobe paces slowly around the empty bases of a baseball diamond in the twilight of the night as everything was winding down, her hands clasped behind her back and head lowered to stare at the ground as she went. The last of the people were filing out of the park nearby, leaving her to make her rounds around this place. Her encounter with Sitcom was long since gone but still ate a small hole in her at not being able to take out the big man once and for all. Otherwise she would be talking with a belt around her waist.
But things move on and so does she. Other opportunities and moments will present themselves. Like this upcoming one for the Women's Championship.
"Y'know, I'm still a little sore about how the end of that match with Sitcom ended. Can't even get in a fight alone without someone else getting involved. That's how scared that overgrown tree is of losing that title. It's fine. Everything's fine. Things happen the way they do, and if we meet again...if we do, there's gonna be some changes.
But I digress. I've got bigger things to worry about, so my happy lil ass is gonna walk on and get focused on this scramble match."
"It's a day before Evolution VI is set to premiere in the ever famous Metlife Stadium and the card is stacked. I, along with several other women are set to have this 15 minute scramble for the Women's Championship. Now that's huge for anyone involved, myself included. A chance to grab that belt for oneself is a tantalizing thought. Poor Lissie got that belt taken away for injuring Jake Paul.
Serves her right honestly. She was stupid to think that there wasn't gonna be consequences for what she did. She was a good champ, but you gotta face the music for what you did.
Now there's gonna have to be a new champ crowned, and I'm telling you guys, that belt is lookin rather good to me. All jokes aside, I want that belt."
She dropped her hands, stretching them high above her head in a groan before coming to a stop at the fence by home plate, leaning against it. If she played everything right, called her shot, then the sky was the limit and she could knock this out of the park. There was a whole lot of talent already called for the match, and some that weren’t even named yet. That’s what had her excited.
”The chance to finally…finally have gold around my waist is something I’ve been after since I stepped through the doors of AW. I’ve worked hard to get where I’m at right now. Done the training, went all over for indy wrestling, worked for a couple of places, and now I’m here at the best spot in the world with the best talent anywhere. I’ve been in this spot before, I know what it’s like, the pressure, not knowing what’s coming. I’ve been on the other end, lost without a way to go.
The thing is, I’ve bounced back and I’ve kept going. Y’all knock me down, I get back up and I fight harder and faster because I know there’s something huge at stake. This is a fact that not even some little story book can tell you, and it’s something the rest of you better take note on. You want me out of the picture? You better make sure you do a damn good job of doing it, because one wrong move and it’s all over.
Couldn’t get to Addy, tried for Sitcom, and here I am with the chance to be a part of that pantheon of champions. Man, I want that chance to have my hand raised.
So. Much.”
Niobe punched her fist into her left hand over and over, an intense look crossing her face as she picked up a lone bat lying on the ground that someone had left behind at the park. It was one of those adult sized bats, red in color and obviously well worn. She stepped up to the home plate, tapping the end of the bat on the tip of her shoe.
”Man, Karlie, I’ve seen you around. I’ve seen what you can do, but I’m thinking that you are a bit of an odd one who’s not functioning on all cylinders if you know what I mean. Is this your way of recruiting for your band of idiots or what? Explain that to me cause I’m confused. I’m not buying it and I’m not buying into what your selling, and as much as you would like, I’m not going to bow down and give you that shot. Sorry lady. It’s just business, you understand right? I don’t doubt your skill out there, just make sure you take your vitamins before hand. Don’t want you ending up in the middle of nowhere right?
The others…I don’t know what else to say. They’re all here for a reason, because they want the same shot as the rest of us do. Lissie understood that fact, that’s why she held that belt for as long as she did. Now we have the chance to stick our name, whoever it may be, onto that list.
I’m gonna repeat myself here.
I want that belt.
I want that chance to be on the top.”
She raised the bat up and pointed towards the back of the field, essentially calling her shot. She grinned and let the bat drop by her side, tapping against her shoe again.
”I will fight through everyone that gets in there and leave no one left standing to challenge the fact that the night will belong to the Living Nightmare finally. After everything, I will have my moment tonight. The present, the future, belongs to the new champ. Do not get in my way or there will be dire consequences for you. I have called my shot and it’s time to hit this one out of the park ladies.
Don’t keep me waiting.”
