Following recent events in Texas, Minnesota Fundamentalist Church leader Karlie Nash, spoke at the latest meeting of the American Mental Health Association, Ms Nash after presenting a large donation to the association, took to the podium.
Mental Illness is something that affects anyone, whether you're suffering, or related to a suffer, more emphasis on mental health issues is a requirement this country needs to focus on. Stated Ms. Nash.
Karlie expressed condolences to the families of the recent mass shooting in Allen, Texas.
Ms. Nash then changed course and stated the Texas shooting was just another reason why the United States needs to take action against Mental illness and push for stricter gun control. Ms. Nash then stated that the biggest danger to America’s citizens isn’t Russia or Vladimir Putin, China, or North Korea, Ms. stated that the biggest danger to American citizens is the National Rifle Association and its continued defense of the right to bear arms. Ms Stated the NRA continuously blocks bills and legislation to remove assault rifles out of citizens hand. Ms. Nash stated that the NRA’s continuous influence over lawmakers, keeps American citizens in constant danger and fear. Ms. Nash stated that while she is an avid hunter, she has refused NRA membership and will continue to do so and stated she will continue to support those who support the ban on assault rifles like the AR-15. Ms then thanked the American Mental Association for their continued efforts in helping Americans deal with their Mental health issues, and stepped down from the podium.
