Main Event
Max Daemon vs. David Hunter
The crowd in the arena are on their feet, waiting impatiently for the main event to begin.
Chris Avery: We are moments away from the main event of Pure Cup VI.
Nate Nytro: Wow, we're on the SIXTH one of these?
Chris Avery: We've heard words from both of the participants earlier tonight. But now, we've reached the apex. David Hunter. Max Daemon. Bloodsport. Pure Rules. In the main event.
Adeline Floyd: The following contest is scheduled for one fall, and it is...BLOODSPORT! In this match there will be no disqualifications, no counts outs, with the only way to win by pinfall or submission inside the ring. With that, we head to the stage just as “Royal Flush” by Silva Hound ft. Mick Lauer and Jonathan Young plays on the PA system. The spotlights shine on Max despite the house lights still being up. He steps onto the stage a smirk on his face and his hooded jacket's hood up. He's also wearing the custom Reebok Ex-Oh-Fit Pure Platinum Hi-Daemons shoes. He looks out at the crowd gives them a pair of middle fingers before continuing his trek.
Adilene Floyd: On his way to the ring. Currently residing in a version of Baltimore, MD. Weighing in at 180 lbs. He...is "The Hellborn...and Heavensent"...Max...f'n...DAEMON!Chris Avery: Max Daemon and David Hunter...have faced off four times before this. The first time was a memorial show for the Tampa independent wrestling scene. The second time was at an armory in Washington DC, and was virtually unsanctioned by any promotion. The third time was for a show in Houston that was never televised, and done purely for the sake of said match. The last time these two men faced off was last year in Austin, Texas on the May 9th Clash.Nate Nytro: And with the confidence in his walk, and Holo Make nowhere in sight, tell us how those went.Chris Avery: Max Daemon has never been able to beat David Hunter. Between the two regular matches, the unsanctioned match, and a street fight in Houston, David has had Max's number the entire time. Tonight, this is Max's match on Max's show with all the pomp and circumstance Max craves.Nate Nytro: The lights are on, Chris. Max is ready, the crowd is ready, David is ready. Can this be the night?Max starts to walk down the ramp. He ignores the jeering fans, walking a brisk pace past them with the smirk on his face getting wider. As the chorus reaches its apex, Max hops onto the apron. He steps onto the turnbuckle, placing his right foot on the middle rope and the left on the top. He throws down his hood, unzipping his jacket as the chorus fades away. He points to the hard camera, giving it a finger gun "shot". Upon the radio feedback, he hops off and takes the jacket off. He throws it out of the ring before pacing back and forth.
Chris Avery: And you can see those stitches over his hair and around various parts of his body. He was in a war recently in CU:LT. And he's walking into Bloodsport with a target.Max nods his head, looking out to the stage with a look of focus as his music fades away.
As if on queue, the violins in “The Night” by Aurelio Voltaire start to play. The crowd start to lose their minds, something Max notices.
David Hunter steps out to the stage, already dressed to compete, with the barbed wire baseball bat over his shoulder.
Adeline Floyd: And his opponent...from Tampa, Florida...weighing in at 247 lbs....DAVID...HUNTER!Chris Avery: He's got that barbed wire baseball bat already in hand.
Nate Nytro: A little insurance policy for sure.As David approaches the ring, Holo Make suddenly rushes out from behind. He swipes the barbed wire bat out of David's hands.
Chris Avery: Holo making himself known, taking that bat from David!Nate Nytro: Great equlizer indeed.David and him have a big of a stare down. With a smirk, David turns around RIGHT INTO A CROSSBODY FROM THE RING!
DING DING DING
There's no ropes so Max had easy access! The two bodies hit the floor with a thud.
Chris Avery: No ropes, no rules, all action!Nate Nytro: Max knows this style of ring set-up and how to use it to his advantage.Max stands up and takes the bat from Holo. He says a few words before Holo nods, taking a walk back to the backstage area!
Chris Avery: Interesting! Max sending Holo to the back.
Max grips the bat the tight, waiting for David to stand. When he does, Max swings, but he ducks!
Nate Nytro: He went for the barbed wire bat shot, but David ducked it!Chris Avery: David knows that bat so well, just as much as he knows Max, he HAD to know it was coming. The bat flies towards the ring, and David starts unleashing right fists into Max's forehead. David gets Max back towards the edge of the ring.
Nate Nytro: Here we go! Violence!David backs up a few steps before charging, but Max back body drops him over his head! But there's no ropes, so David lands in the ring perfectly fine!
Chris Avery: No ropes, genius. David was able to get in the ring with ease.
David steps back towards the center of the ring. When Max turns around, David hits a baseball slide that sends Max back.
Nate Nytro: And now David working on Max however HE wants to.
David steps to the floor. He then grabs mat off the floor, ripping it to pieces. Once he throws a portion of it away, exposing the concrete, Max fires off with a forearm to the back of the head!
Chris Avery: Oh god!Nate Nytro: David exposing that concrete, looking for something twisted no doubt.David tries to recover, but turns around into another forearm to the chin that sends him back. Max isn't done and grips David's hair, pulling him close for another harsh forearm!
Chris Avery: Just some straight-up forearms, back and forth.David collapses against the ring, so Max places his head in between his thighs. Max stands above the concrete, nodding his head a couple times.
Nate Nytro: Max going for a piledriver on that concrete!
Unfortunately, David worms out of it, hitting a back body drop to Max onto the exposed concrete! David shouts out to the crowd, earning their support!
Chris Avery: But David reverses it! Max's back just hit that concrete! As Max writhes in pain, David pulls out two tables from under the ring. He sets them both up back-to-back the long ways in front of the ramp. He then turns around and grips Max's hair, slamming him face first into the steel steps.
Nate Nytro: And now it's David's turn to get some revenge on Max.Max starts to crawl, trying to escape, but David merely sends a forearm to the back of his head. Max stumbles forward, so David boots him in the ass, tripping him towards the floor. David shakes his head, gripping Max by the hair and forcing him up. He uses the back of the head and sends Max flying into the nearby turnbuckle post!
Chris Avery: Holy Jesus!
Nate Nytro: Easter was yesterday! Or Sunday! Whichever if either or both apply!
David nods a couple times before grabbing Max by the head against. He turns the man around before sending him flying face first into the same turnbuckle post! The camera readjusts and we can see that Max is now leaking blood like a rusty pipe! The stitches reopened as predicted!
Chris Avery: And THERE'S the blood!
Nate Nytro: Those stitches were never going to last! That Killdozer Cup in CU:LT beat the shit out of him, and he STILL willingly walked into this!
David looks under the ring, finding himself a steel chair. He waits patiently for Max to stand, using the turnbuckle post for leverage. When he turns around, David goes for a swing, but Max moves! The chair ricochets off the post, leaving David exposed. Max hops onto the ring. He charges, hitting a penalty kick to David's chest.
Chris Avery: And now Max able to get the advantage with a penalty kick. However, David stands tall, holding his chest but turning around. Max shakes his head and maneuvers himself behind his opponent, still in the ring. He charges again, hitting another penalty kick, this time to the back of David's head! David collapses onto the floor, holding his head tight.
Chris Avery: And then another to the back of David's head.Nate Nytro: Max not letting up on him, Chris.Max hops down, keeping his balance despite the blood down his face. He grabs the chair that David lost and turns around, blasting him in the back! When David remains on his hands and knees, Max reels back and blasts him in the back again!
Chris Avery: Two chair shots to David's back!He throws the chair into the ring before turning around and ripping the cover off of Chris and Nate's table. He then unplugs a monitor before turning and throwing it at David's back. David uses the ring to stand up, and when Max sees this, he grabs the other monitor and blasts David in the head with it. David crumbles against the frame of the ring.
Nate Nytro: Max has a nasty habit of sending people or himself through our tables.Chris Avery: Yeah and those monitors are thicker than they look.Max looks under the ring near his opponent. He pulls out a ladder! The crowd goes crazy as Max sets it up. He then grabs the crumpled body of David, giving it a few more right hands before sending him onto the announce table. Max pulls his matted hair back before climbing the ladder. He stands near the top above David, giving the crowd a few middle fingers.
Chris Avery: Classy as always, Max.Nate Nytro: Max giving the same respect to the fans that they've showed up, who have given Max the same mount of respect he's shown THEM.This is enough distraction, allowing David to kick at the ladder. Max sees this and stands firm. However, David gets up and climbs the other side. The two stand face-to-face near the top. They start trading forearms! David's! Then Max's! David's again! Max's! David sends a stiff shot, nearly sending Max back, but David grabs his blood-stained wifebeater. David pulls Max back, getting him on his shoulders in a fireman's carry.
Chris Avery: Oh god! Come on David!Nate Nytro: Oh this is gonna suck!
With another quick shout to the crowd, David falls back in a Samoan drop through the announce table!
Nate Nytro: Samoan Drop through our table!
Chris Avery: That's a near 10 feet fall through our table! As a few replays play of the move in question, David stirs. He uses the ladder to rise before folding it up and setting it against the edge of the ring. He then turns around and grabs the body of Max, throwing him onto the ring. David then looks back at the nearby crowd. With a smirk on his face, he turns around and charges up the ladder, going for a Spear—but only meeting a Superkick mid-move!
Nate Nytro: Boom with the Superkick!David remains standing, but Max grips his head. He runs towards the turnbuckle post, running up what's available and turning it around into a tornado DDT! Max hooks the leg.
Chris Avery: Max using his athleticism there.Ref: 1

KICKOUT
Max lets out a
“fuck!” before sending a few harsh forearms into the side of David's head. Once suitably satisfied, Max stands up and drags the ladder into the ring. He then sets it up so that it's standing up near one of the corners. Max nods once before turning around into a headbutt!
Chris Avery: Is the headbutt from the Islanders genetic or familial?Nate Nytro: Who cares?! Headbutts hurt like hell no matter what!Max falls back into the ladder while David stumbles around. He catches his balance before returning towards Max with another forearm. Max turns to the right, trying to walk away from David. David shakes his head and pulls his skinny jeans back into a sleeper hold!
Chris Avery: It's old school, but effective. It's locked in! Max isn't going anywhere! The blood continues to siphon towards Max's face and onto David's left arm!
Nate Nytro: Max is just leaking blood here!Max shakes his head when the ref asks him, opting instead to edge out of it into a back suplex—but David gets behind him! He locks in the sleeper hold again!
Chris Avery: Max nearly got out of it, but David found a way to lock it back in!Max tries in vain to get out of it again, but David continues the pressure! Max starts to fade! His eyes droop!
Nate Nytro: Max is done!
But David shakes his head. He readjusts towards the center of the ring before hitting a sleeper suplex!
Chris Avery: But David wanted him to hurt! A sleeper suplex!Max's head crumples together as he lands on his feet. He looks dazed even as David hits a saito suplex, sending Max onto the back of his head again!
Nate Nytro: And then a saito suplex! Max is not in a good spot!
But David isn't done yet! He locks in a full nelson and waits for the roar of the crowd and the roar from his lips before hitting a dragon suplex! He maintains the bridge!
Chris Avery: Dragon suplex into the pin!Nate Nytro: All full nelson!Ref: 1

KICKOUT
Max kicked the shoulder up, but David maintains his grip! The two men get up, and David goes for another dragon suplex—but Max lands on his feet. He goes back and nearly falls out of the ring, but he balances himself long enough to shoot the Superkick—but David ducks it! He slides on the canvas, turning around and firing off a Spear from the mat, sending it missiling right into Max's gut! David hooks the leg!
Chris Avery: A series of reversals all into the Spear!Nate Nytro: Alright now THAT'S familial.Ref: 1

KICKOUT
David shakes his head, grabbing Max and sending him up to his feet. He yells at him, telling him
“this is for my dad!” He grips Max's head and goes for Thrill of the Hunt—but Max shoves him away! When David turns around, it's into a Superkick!
Nate Nytro: And another one!
Chris Avery: DJ Khalid would be proud!David stays standing, so Max shakes his head and hits a second one! This time David falls to mat and Max falls on top of him, barely hooking a leg!

KICKOUT
Chris Avery: But David holds on!
Max gets to his feet, allowing some blood to drip onto David's body. He looks around the ring a few times before spotting something. He grabs the chair that he threw in earlier! He sends it up and down, wailing it onto David's back!
Nate Nytro: Max with yet another chair to the back.
David stands up, arching his back in pain. When he turns around, Max launches the chair at his face, sending both it and David to the mat! Max then unfolds the chair, setting it up in the ring. He grabs David's left arm, walking back and forcing David to his knees. Max points at David and tells him something indecipherable. He gives a quick middle finger before launching a knee to his face!
Chris Avery: We all know what's up next!Max maintains the grip, forcing David to remain on his knees. Max shakes his head and sends off another knee David's face!
Chris Avery: One wasn't enough! Max went double for the Ebony...!With a smirk now growing on his face, Max forces David up before taking a few steps back. He charges, sending another knee, this time to the back of his head! David falls forward into the hole behind the chair's seat.
Nate Nytro: And put some stank on it for the Ivory!Max sees this and leaps, going for a knee drop—but David moves! Max's knee almost goes into the chair, but Max readjusts, stopping mid-air! Unfortunately, it causes him to stumble forward. He lands on the mat in a heap, but gets to his feet with the grace of a blind emu.
Chris Avery: Max wanted to hurt him, but David with enough wherewithal to get the hell out of dodge!
Max turns around into a Thrill of the Hunt—but again, Max pushes David away. David stops before he hits the ref! David makes sure he's okay before backing up into a dragon sleeper, then the leaping backstabber!
Nate Nytro: Devil Trigger! There it is!
Chris Avery: He used David's care of the ref to do it!
Max sits on David's chest, lifting one of David's legs close to his face.

KICKOUT
Max shakes his head, trying to argue with the ref that that was three.
Chris Avery: David still in this!
Nate Nytro: Max is furious! He and referees have NEVER gotten along! He thinks all of them are out to get him! When the ref maintains his decision, Max kicks the steel chair out of the ring. With the blood still pouring down his face, Max rips the stained and blood-wet wifebeater off his shoulders. He tosses it to the floor, leaving his chest exposed, revealing more stitches there.
Chris Avery: And the bloody wifebeater comes off!Nate Nytro: God that sentence is just horrible to say, isn't it?Max boots David in the face when he tries to crawl. Max does it a few more times before David flips to his stomach. Max then stands over David's back before leaning down and locking in a camel clutch dragon sleeper!
Chris Avery: That's the Arbiter!
Nate Nytro: It's locked in tight!Max leans back, enforcing the pressure even more, causing more blood to pour from his wounds! Max lets out a scream, but David refuses to tap!
Chris Avery: David holding strong! That Arbiter is locked in and Max is not letting go!Max shakes his head, trying to maintain the grip, but somehow, David keeps fighting!
Nate Nytro: But David is still fighting!
Eventually, with the pressure having disappeared, David powers out of Max's grip! He sends him flying over head with a snapmare, but Max rolls through it! He turns around into a leaping sit-out stunner!
Nate Nytro: There it is! The Thrill of the Hunt!
Max collapses onto his back while David falls sideways onto Max's chest!

And he just survived a Thrill of the Hunt! The crowd doesn't like it, but the ref maintains his counts. David sits onto his ass. He looks around the ring before finding the ladder. With a smirk growing, David gets to his feet. He hobbles towards the ladder.
Chris Avery: David's got some plans here...The crowd starts going nuts as David climbs said ladder. He gets to the tip top, looking around at the crowd for a few moments. He then looks down at Max, who has begun reaching his feet! David shakes his head, looks up at the hard camera, before shrugging! He dives down, going for a—it doesn't matter, he meets a Superkick mid-air!
Nate Nytro: I don't think David had a plan there! He just went for it and hoped it worked!Chris Avery: It did not! Nate Nytro: The crowd is losing their fucking minds!David slams the mat a few times before rising to his feet. He turns around into yet another Superkick, but he doesn't fall! Instead, he charges forward, going for a Spear! But David responds with a NINTH SUPERKICK!
Chris Avery: Well that might do it!Nate Nytro: David can't survive this many Superkicks!David collapses within himself, his head meeting his feet as he crumples to the mat. Max uses his foot to gingerly tap his opponent, but David barely twitches. Max shakes his head before exiting the ring. He looks under the ring for a few moments before pulling out a toolbox. He opens it and pulls out a switchblade!
Chris Avery: Max not going for the cover!Nate Nytro: It looks like he's going for the kill! The crowd gasps as Max opens it. However, he merely cuts the nylon off the exposed side of the ring. He does the same for all the ropes around that corner before tossing the blade back under the ring. He then forces the canvas off. Up next is the pad, that Max rips apart!. There's a portion of the ring with the wood now exposed!
Chris Avery: Max looking for the killshot here, and I ain't talkin MGK!Max looks incensed as he grips David, forcing him up and bringing him towards the corner. Max keeps David up, despite his desire to fall. When Max lets go, David falls to knees. Max shakes his head and turns towards the turnbuckle. He climbs the hooks to get to the top of the post. With minimal area to stand, Max manages to keep his balance.
Nate Nytro: It sucks that this man is such a piece of shit, because he's SO athletic! With exposed scars and blood covering the top half of his body, Max looks out at the crowd. He gives them a pair of middle fingers before turning to do the same to David. He dives, going for a shooting star DDT—no, David somehow catches the Osiris!
Nate Nytro: Max went for the Osiris! He was trying to end this!
Chris Avery: It's been a while since we saw it, but David has maintained his grip!
Despite the pain, David powers through it, readjusting Max in his grip so the latter is in a fisherman's suplex position. He then falls back, hitting a fireman's suplex DDT onto the exposed wood!
Chris Avery: King's Throne! Holy shit the King's Throne!Nate Nytro: It's been YEARS since David's needed that! The crowd loses their shit! Holy fuck can you believe David managed that?! David turns Max over, the side of his face resting on the blood covered chest of Max!

Nate Nytro: What the fu—Chris Avery: Who the fu—The camera readjusts and we see Holo Make! He grabs David, forcing him into a fallaway slam position. He sends David one way before forcing him the other, sending him flying onto the floor back first in a spinning side slam!
Chris Avery: Oh god the Call to Kane!
Nate Nytro: It might not have worked with Downfall, but it sure as hell is keeping David down!
Chris Avery: Wanna talk about overconfidence?! This is why it's a weakness! A curse! Max thought he had David and suddenly the only way he had out was Holo!Nate Nytro: What the hell are you actually talking about? The crowd is booing the shit out of Holo. He walks around towards the other side of the ring. He reaches where the two sets of tables are near the ramp, but bypasses them in favor of grabbing the barbed wire baseball bat and lifting it up high.
Chris Avery: A Hawaiian with a barbed wire bat is never a good thing!Nate Nytro: I don't know if that's familial or genial, but Holo is looking to beat the shit out of his nephew with it!He tosses it into the ring before returning to David. He grabs David by his head, tossing him back into the ring. Holo joins him. He takes a quick detour to make sure Max is awake. Once Max starts to stir, Holo turns and slaps his a couple times. He remains perched in the same corner as Max as David crawls to his feet.
Chris Avery: Holo about to charge for David, directly in The Pale Rider's path! Eventually, David gets up. He slowly turns around, meeting a charging headbutt that sends both men to the mat!
Nate Nytro: The Aina I Ka Pono!
Chris Avery: Oh thank god you can pronounce it!
Holo gets up, but the story isn't with him. The fans start releasing a huge bout of cheers, seeing something Holo doesn't!
Chris Avery: Wait a minute!Suddenly, the camera turns and we see Jack Hunter slide into the ring from the ramp! Jack starts unleashing right fists to Holo. Right after right slamming into his forehead! Eventually, Jack steps away to unleash a loud roar to the crowd!

Nate Nytro: The fans are losing their shit! The Hawaiian Suite is on the top floor here in Orono!Jack makes sure his son is okay before walking towards the side of the ring commentary is on. The camera manages to catch him crack a smirk. He turns around and charges, unleashing a Spear that sends both himself and Holo out of the ring through the two sets of tables David set-up at the start of the match!
Chris Avery: Jesus fucks!
Nate Nytro: I thought it was Jesus wept, but he sure as shit is cheering for that Spear off the ring through the tables!
Chris Avery: Both brothers are out of it!
They're out of it, leaving Max and David in the ring! Max crawls towards David, who isn't much worse for wear. Max forces David up, but the latter gets out of it, sending a harsh forearm into Max's face! Max shakes his head to clear his bearings before gouging the hell out of David's eyes!
Nate Nytro: Dirty but effective!Max sets David up for a dragon sleeper, but he fights out of it! After a couple of shots to the head, David rolls out of it, going for a Thrill of the Hunt—but no! Max shoves David towards the ladder! David stops himself, turning around into a Superki—no! David ducks it and grabs the barbed wire bat! David lifts the bat up as Max turns around! David goes for a shot, but drops it when he is kicked directly into the penis!
Chris Avery: What a bunch of well-explained reversals! That was nearly it, but Max just hit with An Attack to the Groinal Region!Nate Nytro: Ain't That Just—
Chris Avery: Yes that's Just a Kick to the Dick!
David falls into Max! This time both men are using the other to remain standing! Max whispers something into David's hear before shoving him back, hitting a TENTH AND SEEMINGLY FINAL SUPERKICK!
Chris Avery: If we had stars this match would have seven of them!Max gets out of the ring, allowing David to fall forward onto his knees and then his face!
Nate Nytro: David is out of it! He's done!Max sees this and falls into the ladder. He shakes his head and starts to climb it. Once he his near the top, Max turns around. He sees David rising to his knees, despite the absolute mauling he's been served. Max does a motion indicating he's going for another shooting star press!
Chris Avery: We've seen him hit the Devil Trigger from a shooting star before!Nate Nytro: Yeah, against Harvey Marx, right?Chris Avery: Yeah, and it won him the match then!Once David has a solid enough base, Max dives, flipping into the shooting star and going for a Devil—
