He does this every time. I can never get a moment of peace alone when he intervenes. I was ready to capture it all in the palm of my hands but he let his ego ruin everything. I am no longer his pawn; I'm a monolith who deserves much more.
ISOLATION.
Ten missed calls on her phone on a Sunday morning at the hotel suite next to her snoring grizzled Viking of her boyfriend. She sat in her pajamas staring at the abundance of missed calls and unread text messages from her father until she rested the phone on the bedside stand before unraveling the white silk sheets from her body. Serenity left her slumbered lover and moved onto the balcony of their hotel in New Orleans feeling the cold breeze brush against her face.
"Karlie. Don't show up to CruiserClash, please. I have so much anger boiling and with the medical condition of your neck, I do not want to be responsible for ending your career. I like you Karlie even though you have disgusting traits of being an insidious human being with an unhealthy obsession for women older than forty. You're pretty much the opposite of Leonardo DiCaprio but everyone has their kinks."
She sat down on a chair and wrapped the robes around her for comfort. Serenity leaned back as she crossed her right leg over the other taking in the view.
"But don't expect me to take it easy on you. I'm very pissed off to the point I could ruin someone's life. The whole drama with my father has pushed me to realize that you need to do things on your own sometimes and that's exactly what will happen when we step into the ring. The last time we faced, I defeated you and defended the women's championship right after beating your pathetic counterpart, Nikki Vaughn."
Serenity remembered the wars they fought together but she was able to defeat them in great fashion. However, she understood the past meant nothing to the present times in this industry.
"This time, no need to be brash about anything. I'm going to beat you senseless and you won't have any excuses to make. Karlie, as much as you've tried to become this singles competitor on your own, you've been a heap of pathetic trash in the ring. You don't even deserve to be in the same ring with yet here we are and now I have to put you down like an old dog who refuses to die."
"But you can make all the jokes you want and put on the facade that you have a chance. I beat you when I was an inexperienced champion so imagine what I'll do now with some experience under my belt. I'll be making you look like a bigger fool than you've presented yourself to be on social media."
She stood up from the table and stood in front of the barrier. Her eyes surveyed the entire city before her knowing her phone behind was going crazy receiving communication from her father. Serenity stayed focused on the match before her.
"Karlie. You're nothing to me and this brand. You've been one of the best tag team athletes in this company even to the point you've proven yourself in the UFC better than Max Daemon. However, you're nothing more than a placeholder who needs to put in my work but all you've shown is the same formula. You get on a microphone, make a cheap heat remark to the audience's hometown, get a win, leave and go home to whatever infected sexual partner you can find on the streets."
The mere thought of that happening almost made her throw up but she held it down. She looked over her right shoulder to Holden sleeping then back to the city view.
"November 7th. That's the day I'll rule unable to ever compete again. I'm going to break every bone in your body and prove to the world that I am still the household name of this brand which means no one can stop me from being at the top of the mountain. See you soon Karlie and don't be late."
