I made the mistake and I take responsibility. I acted impulsively. I paid the cost, I fell to rock bottom but I climbed up. Now, we're going to do things right. No antics, no emotions; Just professional wrestling. Exactly how it should have been.
GROWTH.
She closed the door to her old locker after another hard training session at her father's facility. Serenity sat down on a wooden bench and leaned forward with a towel around her neck watching the sweat drip from her nose to the concrete floor.
"I apologize Teo. You were right and so was my father. I acted unprofessionally and made a fool out of myself. Our match was amazing and I ruined it by being pathetically unsportsmanlike."
"However, I suffered in global humiliation and had to endure being off the grid thanks to my father but in my spare time, I built myself back up. Something you're known for doing and being on the chopping block taught me a valuable lesson."
Serenity lifted her head upwards staring at the glass panel wall knowing her reflection connected with her on a deeper basis. She knew the hardest moment of this suspense to her match was not just facing the champion but the history that came with it.
"This time Teo, consider myself a factory reset Serenity Holmes. I'm not coming in this time with history or any bias. I'm treating you as I should have been. A simple cruiserweight champion that I NEED to beat to become the leader of this brand. During the time you've been cruiserweight champion, I've managed to become the bigger star in my third match winning the women's championship!"
"I've entered into the main event scene and dominated everyone who thought they had a chance against you. I've elevated this brand in the short time I've been here and proven that I can hold on not only on CLASH but in other promotions too!"
"So how did I lose against you last time?"
She stood up and faced her reflection almost nose-to-nose. Her fingers pressed against the mirror creating a strong bond through herself and shattering the lie before her. Although it pained her to realize, a smile spawned on her face shedding away any doubt.
"Because I lost me."
"A nineteen-year-old girl took the argued greatest cruiserweight of all time to his absolute limit. We were neck and neck Teo but I made one mistake and that's losing myself. I came that close to becoming cruiserweight champion which made me realize one very important thing I always knew I had in myself."
"I CAN beat you!"
"You've faced all types of adversity and you came out where you are now but the landscape has been cleared of war and I'm the one who emerged from ground zero, climbed up to your mountain again and now I'm ready to correct the mistake I made last time! I'm not going to be this sad little girl blaming everyone else for her problems again, Teo."
"You've been the best in this division and no one can take that away from you until now. No more pain, anger, or hatred Teo. I just simply want to beat you and become champion which is why this time, I will win."
Her right palm is placed against the glass looking at her reflection in the eyes.
"So you can say all the poetic words, invoke all the metaphors, paint this beautiful picture and tell the world your story. I am done living in delusion. I believe in reality and reality shows no mercy to those who refuse it. Come Halloween, there's no time for the antics, smoke and mirrors, games and fun, reality will be one and one thing only Teo."
"You're facing Serenity Holmes, the 22nd Century Girl and you know what happens when you step into the ring with her?"
Serenity turns away from the mirror soaking the silent atmosphere in. Her eyes are closed, her hands-free by her sides and she takes in a deep breath before opening her eyes again. Fueled with fire but not of rage, more of passion and writ.
"I will become the new Action Wrestling Cruiserweight Champion."
