Here I am again coddling the men who have never been close to where I've become. All three of them have no relevance or worth to be the number one contender. They've wasted their chances while I'm given yet another one. I will not make the same mistake twice!
FOCUS.
He collapsed down on the canvas inside her father's ring. Serenity kneeled in the center sweaty and almost to the point of exhaustion being back in Houston at Andre's training facility. She was surrounded by three trainees who were down on the canvas as she removed strands of wet hair from her face. Her father leaned against the apron staring daggers into his daughter as she took a moment to recover from the drill.
"I'm done playing games dad. I'm done wasting my time having to carry people who are below me in this division when I have proven to be better than the rest. You were right. I made a mistake and it put me back in this contendership position but one else is suited better to face Teo than I am!"
She stared down at a trainee who is lying on his stomach coughing in pure agony. Her eyes remained fixated with a cold stare.
"Dorian Bateman? Him? All he's done is proven that dreams get you nowhere in this business. He's a common man who thinks that summoning a couple of worthless pawns makes him big but all he's done is continuously waste his time battling scum to make himself look like a worthy opponent. Dorian, I don't care about your dream or your little battle with Max Daemon. You may have beaten the other two but I'm a whole different level you're not ready for."
"You need to know that dreams are just fiction. This is reality and I always am best at rude awakenings when I watch your dreams shatter before your very eyes."
"But Max?"
She turns to another adjacent corner to a trainee sitting down leaning against the bottom turnbuckle. Serenity bent forward slow clapping in front of the poor student.
"My! My! My! The great Max Daemon has blessed us with his presence on CruiserClash! The ego-inflated former Pure Champion who embarrassed our company in the UFC and barely defeated Conor McGregor at Evolution V. Now look at you! Here are you losing match after match even with the pathetic Dirge holding your hands? You let a nobody such as Dorian Bateman make you look like a bitch but hey, as long as you continue to attack him from behind, you'll feel better right?"
Serenity chuckled as she stepped back into the center of the ring. She paced back and forth with her hands on her hips.
"Max. Welcome to CruiserClash. The lesser show as you called and you can't even score a significant victory. You must feel so disappointed in yourself. Thinking you could crossover and make a name for yourself. You have? You're now a prominent loser."
"And speaking of prominent losers.."
The final student of the trio in the third corner was trying to stand up but kept falling flat on his hands and knees. Serenity shook her head and sighed.
"Lazaro. How many times do I have to deal with you? If we thought New York rats were indestructible then Mexican cockroaches must be Gods. What do you bring to this match other than being a dead body? It's a miracle you even survived my dad last week but I guess now you want revenge. It's futile. Every time we've met, you've lost. Hell, you've lost to everyone in this match as well and now you believe you're the number one contender?"
"It's pitiful, to say the least."
Serenity watched the students start to stand on their feet and she gets into a position to restart the drill. Andre nods his head gesturing for them to begin.
"What happens when a Dreamer, a Dirge, and a Golden Idolo come together into a ring with a 22nd Century Girl?"
The students charged at her from all directions but she rolled out of the ring causing them to collide with each other.
"The 22nd Century Girl always stands tall."
