**--The scene opens up inside a doctor’s office where we see Jonny buttoning up his shirt after being seen by the doctor. Gloria looks on concerned--**
“What do ya think doc?”
“Although I advise against it, I feel that as long as Mr. Cedrone continues to do what he’s doing to heal, he should be good to go for his match next week.”
**--The doctor turns his attention to Jonny--**
“Now Mr. Cedrone, one wrong move; falling the wrong way just once can completely undo everything you’ve done. Injuries like this need time to heal completely. Something of which you have very little of I presume.”
**--Jonny scoffs at the thought--**
“In my line of work doc…we’re constantly on the go. No rest for the weary.”
“Very well. Just remember to take it easy for a while though Mr. Cedrone. You don’t want to lose everything you’ve gained so far in your rehab.”
“I’ll do my best.”
“Well I know that that pretty much means that you’ll do whatever you wanna do but I appreciate you obliging me at least a little bit Mr. Cedrone. Don’t forget to checkout with the receptionist on your way out.”
“You’re gonna charge me for this?”
“Are you kiddin’? Every little bit counts in this economy Mr. Cedrone. You’re lucky I’m not charging premium prices.”
**--The doctor walks out of the room as Jonny and Gloria confusedly looks at one another.--**
“What the hell does that mean?!”
“Jonny baby are you sure you’re ready for this match next week?”
“No but I’m gonna do it anyway. The son of a bitch ran me over with a frickin’ car!”
“Technically someone else ran you over with a car. You saw the footage. After running you over, the driver stopped so Elijah could crawl into the backseat.”
“But it was all orchestrated by Elijah. You honestly think that whoever his henchman is was smart enough to come up with that plan all on his own?”
**--Into the room walks Tony Malato who closes the door behind him--**
“Hey! I got here as soon as I could.”
“Hopefully you’re not too late.”
“I’m sorry! With Pops in the hospital I had to pull double duty at work…then change.”
“You still smell like a cheesesteak sub.”
“I’m doin’ the best I can J!”
**--Jonny mauls over that little tidbit for a moment then embraces Tony in a hug--**
“You’re right. I’m sorry T.”
“It’s okay. We’re all pretty uptight here lately. So were ya cleared?”
“Yeah. Sure. He said I’m as healthy as a horse!”
“That has a bad leg and is ready to either be put out to pasture or turned into glue.”
**--Jonny sports a grin--**
“What he really said was that if the match was a little further down the line he wouldn’t have a problem with outright clearing Jonny but seeing that it’s just next week…”
“It’s kind of a conditional release.”
“Pretty much. Yeah.”
“I’m fine! Look. This has to be done. No jackass is going to do what he did to me and get away with it. You know how this business is. It’s an eye for an eye! You don’t just turn the other cheek and let the other asshole get away with attempted murder! You do whatever you need to do to do the same to them…
….or worse.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?!”
“Whatever means necessary.”
“He’ll pay for what he did J.”
“One way or another! That’s a promise!”
“Just be careful baby.”
“I will Princess. But to be honest, I don’t care if I have to sacrifice my body in order to get the job done. I will do just that. The piece of shit will go down and he will go down for a long, long time!”
**--The scene fades to black with a close-up on the deeply concerned look on Gloria’s face. The scene fades back in at a beautiful scenic park. Parents watching their kids play on the playsets. Dogs frolicking and playing fetch with their owners. Butterflies nonchalantly floating in the wind. Everyone minding their own business until…the storm clouds roll in. It went from being bright out to pitch black in 0.6 seconds! With the clouds came winds whipping around at 200 mph! Dogs and humans cower in fear looking for shelter anywhere they can! Lightning flashing but instead of its usual bluish white hue the lightning has an ominous red tint. Then the heavens opened up and rain fell upon the earth. Any unsuspecting bystanders left outside during this were met with excruciating pain as this is no normal rain. This is indeed acid rain! Anybody left outside to endure such unimaginable pain were left “frozen” in place with their skin melting off of their bones then their bones deteriorating to ash. With the rain comes hot cinders – brimstone. It’s a true hell-scape in what was just a peaceful, serene, tranquil park for everyone to enjoy!
Only to be shaken away by an awakening Jonny Cedrone who pops up out of bed in a cold sweat, panting heavily awakening Gloria in the process--**
“What’s wrong Love?”
**--Still panting, trying to catch his breath and regain his bearings, Jonny struggles to find the words. Does he talk to her about the dream right now or wait until they’re both awake enough to wrap their heads around the events?--**
“Just a bad dream Princess. Go back to sleep.”
**--Gloria lies back down but caresses his back with a loving hand. After regaining his composure some he looks back towards Gloria’s resting face, leans back and kisses her forehead. In a fleeting moment she re-opens her eyes and looks adoringly into Jonny’s, caresses his face and they each reach in for a kiss--**
“I love you babydoll.”
“I love you so much! Now get some sleep.”
**--Jonny lies back down cuddling with Gloria, facing her with a huge smile on his face. They kiss once more before Gloria turns around and becomes the small spoon, nuzzling in as close as close can be as they both slip back off to Neverland. The scene fades to black. The scene fades back in with Jonny dressed in a suit, leaned back in a chair with one leg laying across the knee of the other, picking the lint off of his sock and removing a little dirt from his $500 shoe. He looks up towards the person sitting across the room from him--**
“So what do ya think? A little messed up isn’t?”
**--The scene cuts to who Jonny’s looking at and it’s a psychiatrist. A beautiful brunette dressed conservatively in a dark gray business suit and a pair of glasses. She uncrosses her legs then crosses them again with the other leg now being on top.--**
“Very interesting to say the least. What do you think it represents?”
“No offense but that’s why I’m here – to get your professional opinion on the interpretation.”
“It could mean a plethora of things. Are you enraged about something? Filled with rage or anger about something or towards someone? Have you been involved in a traumatic situation recently?”
“Yes.”
“To which?”
“All of the above.”
“Oh. Well…where would you like to start? The trauma? The rage? The events leading up to or the cause of being so infuriated?”
“What do you mean?”
“Well in order to address the dream studies have shown that if the patient talks about the feelings that they had prior to the dream, they would get to the root of the dream and have a better understanding of it.”
“I have a lot of anger pent up right now.”
“Good. Go with that.”
“Honestly I want to keep it pent up until the next time I see the no-good son of a bitch.”
“Given your profession, I guess I can see why but leaving stones unturned may leave a lot of questions unanswered about your dream.”
“I think I can live with that. I was just curious as to whether you can give any possibilities as to what it could mean.”
“Well…let’s start with the obvious. Let’s look at the hellscape that you described, shall we? Dark ominous clouds. Thunder. Lightning – red lightning. Acid rain. Hot cinders. Flesh melting. Bones reducing to ashes. All of that of course represents death and destruction. Is there someone that you wish death upon?”
“I never wish death on anyone. Destruction? That’s a different story.”
“What has this person or persons done to you that you want to cause such pain and suffering to them?”
“The more apt question is what hasn’t he done? Every chance he’s gotten he’s attacked me from behind. Made disparaging remarks about my beautiful wife. And he ran me over with a car! So yeah, I think there’s some retribution to be had for sure.”
“Wow! I had no idea! What kind of person runs over another person with a car and not have a guilty conscience about it?”
“The kind of person that’s scared. The kind of person that knows what’s about to happen and he doesn’t know what to do about it. The kind of person that knows that he really can’t beat me. I guess his mantra is “If ya can’t beat ‘em, kill ‘em.” He’s a piece of shit that needs to be dealt with and I promise that I will do just that.”
“I don’t know what that means exactly and let’s keep it that way Jonathan but however one decides to deal with their anger is 100% up to the patient as long as it’s in a healthy manner. That’s what I’m here for. To assist you in dealing with your anger Jonathan. You choose to harness that anger and aim it directly towards the perpetrator of the anger. Professionally I can’t and won’t help you do that. But personally? Personally I hope you kick this person’s ass.”
**--The scene fades to black as Jonny begins to crack a grin. The scene fades back in in what looks to be an abandoned warehouse. The view continues to move through the building as if there’s a destination planned. It passes empty pallets strewn all over the floors, forklifts that haven’t been used in decades and mostly empty shelving units. Then the scene cuts to a room where a section of fencing is set up with the camera looking straight into it. After a few moments in behind the section of fencing slowly walks Jonny. He’s dressed in a pair of jeans and a white wife beater with his wrists heavily taped. He looks the fence up and down. Studies it. It almost seems as if he’s caressing the fence.--**
“300 sq ft of skin-grating twisted steel wrapped around the squared circle. Two men will enter. Only one will survive.”
“Elijah. The two of us have put each other through absolute hell. Each time we meet we unleash more devastation than the time prior. This time it’s no different. This time the carnage left in that ring would make every war combined look like an episode of Sesame Street.”
“Two men starving to be at the top. Two men with the insatiable appetite to be the absolute best in this business. Two men willing to do whatever it takes to win. Two men fighting, scratching, clawing to earn their spot in this industry.”
“Two men each feeling that they’re better than the other going to war.”
“Elijah. You’re tough. No matter what you do to me; no matter how malicious you can get…I will never take that away from you. Despite the differences between us, I’ll never be shy to give credit where credit is due even if it’s the devil himself. You’re a tough man.”
“The question is…”
**--Jonny smacks the chain link fence allowing it to shake violently.--**
“Just how tough are you?!”
**--Jonny – seemingly out of nowhere – decides to grate his own forehead across the fence. To nobody’s surprise blood starts pouring out of his forehead--**
“After everything you’ve done to me, after everything you’ve said about my wife and me, after taking an attempt on my life with running me over with the car a few weeks ago…I have so much redemption in mind. Revenge will be slow. Revenge will be savored. Revenge will be mine!”
“I’m gonna take your head and grate it across the fence, shredding each and every inch of skin you have on your face and your body! Then I’m gonna take what’s left of that disgusting, mangled up carcass and I’m gonna throw it from pillar-to-post – from one side of that ring to the other – making sure that I utilize every inch of that ring and that cage. Blood will pour from every pore of your body. You’re gonna be in so much pain that you’ll be screaming from the top of your lungs, begging me to stop! – “OH PLEASE MR. CEDRONE! PLEASE HAVE MERCY ON ME! PLEASE SPARE ME THIS BEATING! I BOW TO YOUR EXCELLENCE!! YOU’RE THE MAN MR. CEDRONE! I’LL PAY YOUR TAXES! I’LL BE YOUR BITCH! I’LL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES JUST PLEASE HAVE MERCY AND STOP THIS BEATING!! PLEASE!!!”
**--Jonny sports an extremely crazed look on his face and his breathing is labored--**
“And then just as you think I’m about to have mercy on you, I’m gonna stomp a mudhole in your ass and walk it dry Elijah!”
**--Jonny calms himself a little before continuing--**
“Elijah. You think you know who you’re messing with but I promise – you have NO idea! You have no idea what I’m capable of and you have no idea at what lengths I’m willing to go to let you know!”
“I hope the teeth in your head are your own because when this fight is all said and done, that’s the only way they’ll be able to identify the body.”
“You may not have been the one that was behind the wheel of the car that ran me over – that’s another mystery for another time that I promise that I will deal with when the time comes – but I know you’re in charge of whoever it was that did it. You think that was your best bet to get rid of me?”
“HA!”
“You have to make sure that this heart quits beating before you can even dream of being rid of me!”
“Death and destruction. That’s what this feud of ours has been all about. We won’t be happy until we’ve destroyed each other or worse!”
“The squealing of those tires was the signing of your death warrant Elijah. And the cage?”
**--Jonny looks the panel of fencing up all over then dead into the camera--**
“It will be your coffin!”
**--The scene fades to black as Jonny shakes the fencing once more then leaves the scene--**
“What do ya think doc?”
“Although I advise against it, I feel that as long as Mr. Cedrone continues to do what he’s doing to heal, he should be good to go for his match next week.”
