First off, Niobe, I want to say thank you for stepping up to the challenge. I commend your being eager to do so, too. You know exactly what you’re getting yourself into with this match and you still managed to walk into it with at least some level of optimism or recognition of what a one on one with Spencer Adams can do for you, what even just showing up and proving to the world that you can hold your own can do for your career, the jet pack rig that it provides. However, my kudos begin and end with the setup as I’ll tell you the same thing I’ve told a billion so so rookies before you.
It’s a familiar stance, me telling you that you’re a nothing competitor in a company that demands the best from the best in order to make their stock show any real sign of life. It’s the same energy I gave CJ before our Hardcore title showdown. See, getting in there and trying to hang against the AW original, that’s the obvious challenge. That is the one that you know. The real uphill battle is showing that you aren’t another in and out talent against someone who smells blood in the water from a papercut.
Any inkling of doubt, any failure to show something that projects you as a future five star talent..I pounce on shit like that. Why though? Why go for the throat if I think that you don’t have it in your gut to take a real fight to me? Niobe, this company and this industry needs people it can depend on. On my worst day, I’m the steady hand. On my worst day, I’m STILL widening the gap as any other company’s GOAT in a world where I gave them my time instead of AW. I’m here to put you down and attempt to snuff your career out before it has a chance to actually start, because it’s what this place demands of me.
That type of fire and vocal opposition is the difference between one competitor and the next. Thirty-two years old and just entering prime years, I can tell you that you don’t maintain a certain level without this attitude. If I don’t come at probable nothings like this, I’m telling the people who support me and this profession that I’m giving up, that I’m not better than you should you prove me right. (You will.) I’m here to walk in and out, to do what I have to do to turn a spot on the card into essentially a week off. This is your chance and it’s probably your only one.
