"A MATCH LIKE THIIISS!" The belting song voice of Jason Cashe is heard but who you see is the smiling face of Josslynn Spencer. "SOME PEOPLE WAIT A LIFETIIIME, FOR AN OPPONENT LIKE THIS!"
Josslynn snickers and presses a finger against her lips, shhhing the viewing public as she was running a Livestream. She turns the camera as she sneaks into the bathroom where you see the shadowy shape of Jason Cashe inside the shower, hidden behind a curtain. He was singing.
"SOME PEOPLE SEARCH FOREEEVER! FOR THAT ONE SPECIAL CLASH!"
Josslynn, putting the camera back on herself, shakes her head. Cashe would often rewrite song lyrics on the fly, even a small change can redefine the meaning of the tune.
"OH I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S HAPPENING TO MEEEEE!"
Cashe's shadow behind the curtain had something in both hands and held close to his mouth as if it were a microphone. He was in the ZONE and completely unaware he was being recorded.
"Some peeeeople wait a lifetime.. For a Maaaaatcch like THIIIIIIS!"
Upon his finale, Josslynn begins hooting and hollering, cheering for her man. He almost slips in the shower as he tugs at the curtain and pokes his head out. The camera on Josslynn's phone recorded him as his eyes widened at the sight of it.
"Whaaaahahaha!" He gasps and laughs. "What are you doing?!"
"Livestreaming.." She says behind a grin on her face. "Say Hey!" It was well documented that Cashe liked to say 'Hey' when greeting someone.
"A lot has changed since we last met inside of a ring Dionysus.. Time does that to people but more so, I have changed since the Clash of The Immortals. I haven't been back to Greece since then but my life and my career has done nothing but improve since then!
When I arrived in Greece back then, I arrived with one girlfriend, ended up with another before I left. Since then both of them have gotten pregnant..
Not it, by the way.
Thank GAWD!
I ended up back with the one I never should have left two years before. Since that time in Greece, I have changed my diet. Changed the way I train, the way I work out. I've gotten in shape and had a lot of tattoo work done. You still have a great beard though!
You say you've changed but have you? Tag Titles but you had those last we fought and have just lost them more recently. Congratulations on the length of your reign, I know holding any Title for as long as you guys did is no easy feat in any promotion."
"Hahahaha!!" Josslynn falls back on the bed as her laughter bellows out. "What the heck is that?!"
Still on her Livestream, Josslynn turns her camera to show Jason Cashe standing in the doorway of the bedroom with his fists at his hips, posing, wearing nothing but a loincloth.
"It's my ring gear for Clash on Monday!" He says with total confidence. "You like it?"
"No shoes, no knee or elbow pads. Just a loincloth?" She asks.
"Yup." His pose broke as he tries to explain the concept of his idea. "Dionysus wears Gladiator gear, he's got a helmet and a sword!"
"Where is your sword? Lemme see that!" She was in need of Orbit gum for her mind. She leans forward and reaches to lift the front of his loincloth. He playfully slaps her hand away.
"No sword, I'm more of a spear guy.."
"Yeah you are!" She hollers and raises her eyebrows into the recording of her livestream.
"I swear!" He laughed but was trying to keep on his point for the attire. "His gear is more dressed, far more fancy to it. Mine is that of an enslaved Gladiator. I won't have the engraved metals, the polished sword.."
"Not ye-" She tries to chime in but Cashe dives at her and her words become a squeal as he tackles her back onto the bed. Taking her phone from her, he tosses it off the bed and you can no longer see them.
"Solo, you came so close to becoming #1 Contender heading into Meltdown but that became another instance where you reached up and missed the opportunity given to you. By close, I mean you were in a match to determine who was next to get a shot. Earned or not, you were in that match!
You should really hate me! You have been in AW since the start, right? Yet in that time, people have joined, risen and fallen in the ranks, some have left. Some of those names have had titles and the only time you have been able to grab hold of a position of Status is when Downfall was at your side. That HAS to eat you up a little inside. Being the only guy still around who went from WCF World Champion to essentially the Mascot of AW!
You are expected to have the most spunk! Be the definition of team spirit but it's only when the actual players stand next to you do you see a spotlight of any status. As of late? You're the guy in a Dress on Twitter..
I like you Dee, I really do. After that match in Greece, we had a few drinks. Talked shop, talked about our futures, the next steps we wanted to take. How could I not like you? In our last match, we had no rules.
We bled together..
We broke each other down until the skin on our teeth was the only thing still in the race but in that moment of opportunity, I took the opening and made it my moment.
My Hand Raised!
My time to shine!
So what changes now? Will you be what finally brings my reign as CBS X Champion to a close? As an Original Member of this company, you have had plenty of opportunities, I'm sure. What makes this one different from the ones you've had before now? Even now, you said that Cedrone being in that match was a joke so what did you really gain but my attention as a Challenger to the Title I have and the Status I plan to defend once again, successfully?
You have a history of injuries. You have a history with a lot of issues and challenges in life that you've had to overcome. You have a lot to be proud of as a man and I think that shows in your personality. A good, solid dude! Yet in that ring, when a belt is on the line, when the Main Event spotlight is shining down on us? All that nice shit goes out the window..
Your injuries are tested. How's the shoulder these days?
Your morale gets poked at. Does it become a CHALLENGE for me to see if I can break that smile? To tear down your happy go lucky personality.. That's what I start to contemplate when I am in these situations. When these moments of opportunity present themselves not just for you, the challenger but for me as the Champion. It isn't just holding a Title for me but the challenges that everyone new, who steps in line to get their shot brings to the table.
This is yours.
I've grown quite fond of the CBS Title. I like how it feels on my shoulder, so be it Greece, the UK, Egypt, Africa, South or North Korea, China, Japan, Canada or even Grand Forks, North Dakota, USA. I plan to keep it."
New York City. The CBS Headquarters was a tall building of windows but the logo stood out. Jason Cashe down on the sidewalk in front of the building was wearing his loincloth, some flip flops and over his shoulder was his CBS X Championship. He paced back and forth with the logo and front doors in his backdrop.
"When I first won this belt, it was spontaneous. It wasn't planned. It wasn't something I had any real desire to win. I can't tell you any program on TV I have watched on CBS other than during Football season."
He scoffs and looks up at the logo. "Even after I won the belt. I was seeing that I wasn't being booked to defend it. I asked to defend it. Length of a reign to me isn't as important as how often and against who you defend it against. That is my interest.
I've beaten Elijah Martin
I've beaten Kyle Kemp, a former AW World Champion unlike yourself but even with that truth, I look forward to this match more.
You are like me Dee.. You have this uncanny ability to make it fucking interesting no matter who the opponent is. No matter what the style or challenge you are standing across from, you bring your own energy to the match. I like that most about you! I don't expect that has changed about you, has it?"
A woman halts to a stop as she begins to passby along the sidewalk. She had a little boy's hand in hers and she quickly turned and walked away from the crazy man rambling on half naked in front of the CBS Headquarters.
Cashe grins at the woman and nods as she scurries away. Continuing, Cashe faces the recording again. "I have to expect change, you must adjust on the fly in matches like these but the most important change I expect to see is not a change in the outcome but just how that outcome unfolds.
There won't be cheese graters or barbed wire, there won't be ancient amphitheaters as the backdrop to our match. I told you then that we would do battle like Gladiators. That we would put on a show that merits the ring gear you wear that pays homage to your namesake.
Now, I will tell you this.." Cashe steps closer to the camera, his teeth biting down on his bottom lip momentarily before he continues speaking.
"We will fight. Unlike last time, it won't be for Immortality or bragging rights. You were a Tag Champion then and now you are a Challenger wanting what I have so we will fight..
We will scrap up and see who falls down last. We will find out if time has been on your side for redemption or my side for confirmation of what has already happened once before. I aim to win, you better aim better and truer than you did before.
You have been inconsistent in booked matches, you have come up short or not been booked much at all in singles matches but you stepped up against Cedone. You earned this match and I am almost grateful that I couldn't compete in the Triple Threat because this right here?
These are the matches that make the best moments.. Time will change nothing.. We will Clash and in the end, you can expect me to tweet the following hashtag to AW..
#AndStill…"
Lifting the CBS Championship from his shoulder, Jason Cashe steps back and raises it in the air with one hand. Under the logo on the building, he stands in a pose and stares directly at the camera as the scene fades.
Josslynn snickers and presses a finger against her lips, shhhing the viewing public as she was running a Livestream. She turns the camera as she sneaks into the bathroom where you see the shadowy shape of Jason Cashe inside the shower, hidden behind a curtain. He was singing.
