"Always be ladylike is what my father told me but when you're dealing with a woman who can't fathom that she isn't the center of the attention, that's going to be very fun. Nothing's better than making a narcissist be held accountable for their actions. Nothing's better."
ALONE.
"Oh, Nikki..."
The pier of Jacksonville Beach was the perfect setting for the sunny weather as spring broke into the year. Serenity's ecstasy was delightful in her first-ever upcoming defense of the belt. The waves brushed against the crystal sands, her black bathing suit absorbing the sun's rays. It was her moment to enjoy the time as she leaned against the crumpled wooden barrier looking out to the horizon.
"Battlebowl didn't go as I wanted but there's no doubt people know the type of champion I am. Nikki Vaughn is going to experience that and I hope Karlie watches too. She's going to witness her tag team partner fall again when it matters most in any singles match she's been in."
She chuckled and adjusted the sunglasses above her dark hair.
"But I honestly feel sad for Nikki. She's hurting on the inside and I know she feels disrespected by being my first defense of the belt. Nikki, you've never had any success on your own despite you being a tag team name with Red, White, and Bruised. You've won tag team championships in Action Wrestling, WCF, Mexico, and even in your own company, Southern Fighting Championships. You've done it all and yet where are you now?"
Serenity looks around as an emphasis on her previous statement.
"You're here subjected to me. Joey Bunga knew you weren't anything of relevance recently despite all you've achieved in the tag team division but that's just it, you achieved them based on your partner. Not discrediting what you've done for our country in the Olympics but when you think about it, you don't know what it means to be successful on your own."
She rolls her eyes.
"You had a chance to become world champion but you lost to Lockhart. Any time you lose against a name, you're busy beating local opponents, no-names, or attacking backstage interviewers to make up for it. It's the same formula, Nikki. You lose a match, make up for it with a cheap win and then blame your losses on the city you're in. You can't face a simple fact because the makeup from your face has blinded you."
Beside her resting on the wooden structure is the women's championship belt shining off the sun's reflection.
"Nikki. Jacksonville is right behind me and you won't be able to blame them and you can blame me when I beat you down to the point you're going to disappear for weeks and cry into Karlie's arms."
She holds the belt up to her face and smiles seeing a mirror of herself.
"But don't worry Nikki. There's always a tool in your kit to tell your mind this never happened. I guess it's basically what happens when the older woman can't stand the younger and better girl getting all the attention. Do you believe this is your moment to shine? It isn't. You were given opportunity after opportunity and you blew it!"
Serenity almost cupped her mouth. She felt the innards of her gut ready to explode until she swallowed it down.
"You're sad. You have everything. Olympian, multiple-time tag team champion, undefeated in martial arts, your promotion, and unconventional sex life. Yet with all that, you remain the bitter modern woman unable to achieve happiness. You're broken, hurt, and desperate for attention."
The belt hung off her right shoulder and she adjusted the glasses back properly. A slick smile birthed from cheeks to cheek.
"This belt means so much to me. I accomplished in three weeks what it took you to do in three years! Become a cruiserweight star. You've had multiple chances to succeed on your own but you've been latched onto Karlie Nash. You're not a woman, you're a narcissistic bitch who spends more time tag-teaming old broads more than wrestlers in the ring with Karlie."
She looks to the sea.
"And they say I'm the one with daddy issues."
