“Action Wrestling…”
The gruff voice of Bryan Blaze opens the scene. Behind him is a Canadian flag hung on the wall. The gray suit and aviator sunglasses gives him an air of superiority, or at least that's the vibe he gives off, as if his arrival to CruiserClash hadn’t done enough in that regard.
“I’m sure most of you thought that you’d never see the day that you’d see me in an Action Wrestling ring. Truth be told, I would’ve thought the same thing.”
Nonchalantly removing his shades, Blaze tucks them into the breast pocket of his tailored suit.
“My career was done. I had done everything I ever wanted to accomplish. I’ve been a Cruiserweight Champion. A World Champion. Competited all across the globe in just about every sort of match you could think of. I was even inducted into the Mainstream Wrestling Hall of Fame.
As I said, I’ve done it all.
At least, that’s what I thought.
You see, for as long as I was a trained wrestler, I felt the need to showcase to the world the greatness of Canadian Professional Wrestling. I don’t need to name off all the great Canadians who captivated audiences globally over the years, because that list goes on and on. So, that begs the question that EVERYONE will inevitably ask me. Why?
Why Action Wrestling?
Why now?”
With a smirk, Blaze cocks his head back and points to the Canadian flag on the wall behind him.
“Canadian wrestling is under attack. Look no further than on Clash. The Heritage is ridiculed and dismissed and why? Because they are Canadian, and they are PROUD of their HERITAGE. Not just The Heritage, but look at how Tatiana Jolee is treated. Dismissed and pushed aside. Having her PULLED from the shows, without her knowledge? Shameful.
So this is why. Canadian Professional Wrestling is the best form of wrestling on the planet, bar none. We’ve seen trailblazers and legends come from the Great White North and Action Wrestling would like you to believe it’s all one big joke. That’s what’s brought me here. I am here to save Canadian wrestling. I am here to save Action Wrestling, specifically CruiserClash, from itself and bring it to the heights I know it can ascend to.
I won’t require a thank you, but Teo Blaze can shine up that title real nice for me.”
Exaggerated wink.
“Now Papito, don’t think I’ve forgotten about you.
I mean, don’t get me wrong, I think everyone else has. Karlie Nash even destroyed you when it came down to it. You are one of these dying branches of CruiserClash that needs to be trimmed off. You bring your Heritage, and I’ll bring mine.
It’s about time people are reminded of who I am, and to introduce those that don’t know what I am capable of. Athleticism, violence, and intelligence, all rolled into one. Papito, you better bring your A game, because if you don’t, I’ll knock your head clean off your shoulders.”
Just as Bryan finishes speaking, a loud ringing can be heard. Rolling his eyes, Bryan walks over to a small round table and picks up his smartphone.
“Hello?”
…
“Yeah, James. Yeah…I…I know.”
…
“Yeah, we spoke.”
…
“Yeah, James…ok. I gotta go.”
A small chuckle as Bryan glances back towards the camera.
“Those guys have NOT stopped calling me since BattleBowl…”
