But you need it to validate your career.
The camera moves to reveal Karlie standing inside the mma cage at Nikola’s MMA training facility.
Do you know how many times I’ve heard that I need the Cruiserweight title to validate my wrestling career. When you're a pillar of the cruiserweight division, I guess in some ways people are right thinking that, sure you can be tag champs multiple times, but it's the cruiserweight title that defines you, honestly it’s a matter of opinion.
Karlie leans against the cage wall as Nikola enters in MMA gear along with Meisha Tate.
Nikola: You and I both know what Spayde Martinez can do, after all she tried and failed to end both of our careers, but she’s one dimensional completely reliant on her mma training, and it's time to beat her at her own game.
Meisha: Exactly, Nikola and I will give you the finer tips you need to to beat her ass.
Nikola: No one wants that hack as cruiserweight champion again, now lets begin.
Several hours and several ice packs later, Karlie is sitting against the wall.
Zero zilch nada, that’s unfortunately the exact amount of time I’ve held the Cruiserweight title sure I’ve had my share of opportunities, and yeah I've never won and when you had those opportunities and were unsuccessful and watch as people who don’t have a quarter of the talent I have win the cruiserweight title, I admit it does rub me the wrong way.
A crooked smile comes across Karlie’s face.
Its funny how people think they know what’s best for my career, how the cruiserweight title keeps coming up in conversation, honestly I tune people out, because people don’t know shit about what’s best for my career, would it validate my career in Action Wrestling, sure it would I guess, thing is I have to win it first, but to do that I know what has to be done, and who I have to beat to get that opportunity at Battlebowl.
Karlie stands up and exits the building.
Karlie is standing next to a white board.
Spayde it’s time for a numbers game, you do know how to count I assume, so I assume you know what the number seventy seven means, it's the length of your forgettable title reign, a title you won by beating up someone who wasn’t a trained wrestler, bet that made you feel real bad and tough huh, no it made you look like a coward and a bully and every bully eventually gets put in their place.
Karlie writes the number two on the board.
Two, the exact number of times you defended the title in your seventy seven day reign, how embarrassing for the Cruiserweight division and cruiserclash, the champion doesn't give a shit about the title to even defend it, your title reign was forgettable because you made it forgettable Spayde, no one cares you were even champion.
Karlie writes a zero on the board.
Zero represents what you are as a person Spayde, a zero, and it's also the number of times we wrestled during your title reign, now I am not going to say you were ducking someone like me, but you were ducking facing me. This week Spayde you’ve been handed another opportunity you don’t deserve, and opportunity to earn a cruiserweight title match at Battlebowl, everyone thinks your just going to step into the ring and beat me up and walk out number one contender, well I’m afraid that’s not going to happen, your one dimensional, you wrestle the same style week in and week and sure that’s fine, but unfortunately for you, I know all your weakness, your moves are predictable, and thanks to two real martial legit artists, I’ve learned how to beat you up and put you in your place, and I’ll feel real great doing it. Spayde your the past, your time is done, I’m going bury you and your career under the boardwalk in Atlantic City, and punch my ticket to Battlebowl, and if don’t like it Spayde your more than welcome to try and stop me.
