Be as harsh and not picky as you want.
I’ll try to return the favor of advice.
Thanks.

I know that I went without winning as Shadow for over a month in the Uci, due to a mixture of reality and fantasy not playing along nice together. It was very frustrating creatively but it's one of those things that happens to everyone. You feel you can't buy a win. It's kind of like trying to snap a losing streak in baseball. You just have to write through the slump really. I know the 2500 word count was vicious on my writing style, but I thought everyone did great for what little everyone had to work with for the number of opponents we had in that UCI Championship match and anyone could've won.
If you think John is in a major slump, you can tinker with your character but I wouldn't do a major overhaul. Frost is a great character. I know from experience, tinkering with Shadow during my slump, just adding thing that I thought would work and some that didn't for his character, helped me out of my slump. The 2500 word count was vicious on my writing style, but everyone did great for what little he had to work with for the number of opponents we had in that UCI Championship match.
Hope this helps?

When I get into a slump, I take a look back at the story I wrote, and see how I could have paced it better. That was my primary problem; I was so eager to tell the story that...well, I didn't really tell the story. XD
There are ways to get the same story out there, but stretched over several weeks rather than in two or three RPs. Its where you may consider adding more descriptors or your character's thought process over varying issues in RPs.
Or heck, maybe you just need a different story.
