We open on one of the many popular, crowded beaches of sunny Los Angeles, California. People mill about, having fun. Wearing a grey suit, Cruiserweight Championship draped over his shoulder, VOID looks out at the ocean, seemingly unnoticed. Nearby, a song plays on the radio:
The whole scene around VOID flickers.
Suddenly, it’s a dark and stormy night on the beach, without people.. Static is all that can be heard. VOID turns around…
Suddenly, it’s a dark and stormy night on the beach, without people.. Static is all that can be heard. VOID turns around…
And the beach returns to sunny splendor.
VOID gives a sly smile and wink to the camera, before walking among the throng of people, talking as he does.
Los Angeles, a city of superheroes and terrorists. Honestly, there’s no better place for Action to ring in the new year. And really, this city encapsulates both of my opponents for my newly won championship. They are the smiling superhero and the moustache twirling super villain. But neither can stand against a true predator.
VOID comes to a stop. He turns towards the camera, and the scene switches to storm.
Karlie Nash. You and I outlasted all comers, fought tooth and nail for this championship. But at the end of the day, I am the champion. After so long I finally have claimed my crown. Meanwhile, your demons grow by the day. If not now, when? Because, I can tell you this, against me you’re… what 0-5? 0-6? Frankly, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve stood over your spent, barely conscious body with my arm raised. At this point you must be scrambling, thinking of ways your little lapdog Nikola could interfere. You're desperate, Karlie. Desperate to retain any ounce of reputation you have between the ropes. But I look forward to kicking you down from the cusp of greatness one more time. And maybe this time, you’ll finally get it. You’re a washed up old bat who’s sucked up as much recognition as you can from the Cruiserweight Division. There’s nothing left to do but hang up the boots and fade into obscurity. So, Karlie, run, scheme, hide, do what you have to do. Because nothing, nothing can save you from the inevitable end that is coming this Monday.
VOID snaps his fingers, and the scene returns to sun and fun. But his eyes remain fixated on the camera, staring with a viscous glare.
Then there’s Teo, oh precious Teo. Poor Andre wasn’t able to hang for long, and you put in a valiant effort, but it wasn’t enough. And, finally, I got my vengeance for all you and your idiot friend have wrought. You want more where that came from? Oh, there’s plenty. The rage and fury I have for Teo Blaze goes far beyond one superkick. Teo, you and I are polar opposites. You are the long beloved darling of fan and exec alike. You show up to smile at awards shows, you give commencement speeches, you get exclusive Burning Hi-Tops from Reebok. I will never get that treatment. All those distractions blind you, Teo. And when I look past all the frills, I see a man who’s afraid. So long you’ve carried this division on your back, whether it be in the tag division or as a singles star. Don’t worry Teo. I’m here to take on the weight. The Light of your Blazing Knee has gone Out. I am quicker, I am more focused, my morals are stronger than steel. It’s time to change the channel. The sun sets on the time of Teo, and the moon rises in the era of VOID.
The beach scenes begin to constantly flicker between each other, growing in speed. VOID walks towards the camera.
Two paragons of the Cruiserweight division. A grand hero and a scheming villain. It’s a tale so easy to write…
The flickering stops, both scenes disappearing. VOID stands before a green screen, smiling.
Even I could have put it together. Now, I am in control, I am the director of my own fate. In this city, heroes, villains, they’re temporary. But creators, they are forever. And my creation, my film… has only just begun.
VOID walks out of hsot, and the shutter closes on the camera, fading to black.
