Mason bends down and adjusts his sock above his Reebok Teo Blaze' remixes and sits back on the couch.
Mason Jones: I just felt like he wasn't appreciating me and I needed to do what you said and that was set a boundary and really make him realize how he talks to me and how he treats me.
She shakes her head and asks another question.
Mason Jones: Hm, I think he realizes it, it's hard to tell to be honest. He doesn't exactly communicate well with what or how he's feeling. A very guarded man, yeah.
She writes something down before asking another question.
Mason Jones: I feel like sometimes when he's insecure or vulnerable, it really gives me anxiety or makes me anxious but I feel like that because I wish I could take his insecurities away. He's one of the all time greats, he's had so much success, and he was so great in his career.. but I feel like he needs the alcohol to be that good and I just want to show him that he doesn't.
She writes down some more as Mason adjusts his GShock watch on his wrist.
Mason Jones: Well, now that I've set this boundary, I'm still his Sober-Bud, and I see him 4x a week and we talk on the phone, but it's strictly sober-business and thats that. I don't tell him how I feel anymore, I don't get into his daily routine or ask him how his day was, or ask him about his feelings. I just let him be. He has a match this week on Clash, and we didn't even talk about it on the phone before I came in here.
She continues to write some more down.
Mason Jones: Yeah, I have a match, its this King of Violence match where we're going to use weapons and it's going to be brutal. I've never really fought in something like this so getting this chance is pretty nice. I went to Torture and just sort of felt like maybe my career was taking a step back and I don't want to put my needs or goals behind when I was so close to Price every day. So I'm putting my needs first, like you suggested and I think it's paying off.
Whats that?
Oh, well, yeah, I'm a little fearful of bleeding or getting a scar, or bruised, but I feel like I can hold my own too. Holden Ross is this pretty big scary dude, but he can't be any more scary than Price or anyone else I've wrestled before. I have experience here in Action Wrestling, I've wrestled in front of hundreds of thousands, what has Holden Ross done? Ran through an empty prison for a million dollars like a little rat in a maze? What a joke.
Who else is in it? Zolton too. Yeah, it's a four way match but I was told it wasn't elimination so, I have to basically find a weapon and just strike hard and fast. Zolton is good and plays off this chaos type vibe, but to be honest, I can take him. He'll swing a weapon or two but I can block it and get back on offense against him. He's fought Ash Blake for the Hardcore title already and lost so I figured, I swing a few chairs on him and can bust him open, I can be on top of him in no time. I mean on top of him, wrestling-speaking.
She nods as Mason tries to not be awkward.
Mason Jones: Zolton is good though, I don't want it to be known that I think he sucks or something, but yeah, I can beat him. I mean, the one I have to worry about is the KING himself Corey Black.
No, not the King of Violence, so thats the match I'm in. It's the King of Violence.. and yeah, he's a KING so yeah its weird that he's not the King of Violence already, since he's been in like a 100 deathmatches in his 20 year career, but yeah, he has..
She asks another question.
Mason Jones: Yes, it is the same Corey Black who didn't visit Jayson Price once in the hospital. Yup, same one. He pisses me off. He was a friend of Jayson Prices for forever. I really mean forever. When Price had his episode, I was the only one. No Frank, No Corey Black, hell, Torture or Gravedigger didn't even show up. Not one person visited, but I was mostly shocked when Black didn't visit. But, then again, no one loves and respects Price as much as I do and thats why I'm here right?
He chuckles to himself.
Mason Jones: Yeah, Black isn't a good friend. He's selfish and an ego and he only cares about himself. I'll make him pay in the match for sure. I wanted to. As soon as I saw he was in the match, I wanted to be the one to make him bleed. I want him to realize just how much of a better friend, a better person I am for Price than he is.
Aww man, we're out of time? Well Doc, it was always a pleasure.
Mason gets up out of the therapist couch and walks towards the door. The scene fades out.
