“Are you sure you’re taking the school incident well?” Moriba asks
Kitsumi stares at him for a few moments, the smile on her face unsettling. The officer watching her intently looks for signs of a crack, a break, anything incriminating.
But there’s nothing.
“We were lucky to get out of the school alive after the explosion. Truthfully? I am just sad my mother isn’t here anymore.”
“And the other girl, Hideyo…you sad about her?” the officer asks.
Kitsumi’s smile widens as she faces them.
“Of course.”
She ignores the suspicious looks in favor of meeting her brother’s eyes.
“Noburu…you were taking me to meet Aisuru, correct?”
Noburu nods, his face otherwise emotionless. He too seems suspicious, though more of Moriba than anything else.
“Of course,” he repeats.
“We’re done here?”
Her question was at the officer.
His growl is all the answer she needs.
…..:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::…..
It’s too sad that meeting Him was only a ruse.
For the most part.
Kitsumi gives a wave to her brother as he drives off, leaving her sitting on a park bench.
It is an unusually short amount of time before her ally joins her.
Roddy sits down, wiping his hands through his hair. He’s dressed in his usual suit, sans Raybans. Looking past him, she can see Doc in a similar attire looming and watching for eavesdroppers.
“Hey Kit. How you holding up?”
She raises an eyebrow at his unusually caring question.
“I am fine. Considering my mother’s death was a foreseen outcome, I find myself more interested in what will happen with Hideyo no longer with us.”
“Right…yeah, I was interested in that too. Hey, out of curiosity, do you know anything strange about that Chinami girl?”
Her eyes can’t help but narrow at the unusually invading inquisition.
“Nothing that would make her an interesting person.”
Roddy nods, his shoulders visibly relaxing.
“How are YOU holding up?”
The shoulders tense again.
“Fine. Given this is what we planned, and it was executed beyond perfection, there’s nothing to worry about, right?”
“Rod, your eye won’t stop twitching.”
Lo and behold, his right eye keeps twitching.
“So Kit…how about our match at CruiserClash?”
The subject change is obvious enough…
“You mean the one against a tag team that AREN’T the current tag champs for our belts?”
“Yeah, that one.”
“I think these is meant to be some sort of test for them. Not us, we’ve already proven ourselves as an alliance by beating the supposedly best tag team on CruiserClash and apparently AW as a whole.”
“Which is something the Canucks can’t claim, given they lost quite recently to them.”
“A fact made even worse that they did so by DQ to save themselves from losing via pinfall. Far be it for teams to earn things the right way.”
“Yeah, only a dastardly and deviously intelligent team would cheat relentlessly on their way to constant victories.”
“But victories they are all the same. Truthfully? I’m more interested in why exactly we’re not the first challengers for Shayde and Gracy.”
“Even looking at things as they are, giving the lWo a shot reads more as ‘every other team is busy, let’s just make do’, which is not only a pretty bad look, but also pretty fucking insulting.”
“We are The Rulers of Our Kind, the most upstart team in AW—”
“—as a whole, full stop—”
“—yet here we are having to face the champions of Canada—"
"—a championship that is more dubious than Adler and Azzy both getting more than me in the All Access Champion of the Year votes? When I beat Azzy a week after she won the damn thing?”
“Meanwhile we were the last actual tag team that were champions and had our titles taken from us, yet we’re barely present in the voting.”
“I don’t want to call conspiracy, but this whole thing DOES read like they didn’t want us to be in the position at all. And with Torture twiddling his thumbs to figure out a GM, we’re left with our hands on our hips wondering where the fuck is our due?"
“I think their plan is to make us earn back the titles, something we’ve already more than done enough to qualify towards."
"Beat the AW Tag Team of the Year clean.”
“Check. Beat the two previous Cruiserweight Champions in the ring clean whilst they were champion.”
“Check. Been dominant over everybody we’ve been put in the ring against since we started teaming together.”
“Check. Proven ourselves as singles competitors on multiple fronts.”
Roddy pauses.
Kitsumi turns towards him, giving him her soft smile with that blue eye.
“Check?”
“Check.”
She nods, her eye returning to normal with but a blink.
“The Heritage can’t say they’ve done half those things.”
“The Heritage can’t say they’ve done ANY of those things.”
“And yet we’re expected to face them in a match? And not just look past them?”
“Most tag teams consider that a stupid concept…”
“…most WRESTLERS consider that a stupid concept…”
The two share a glance.
And then share a smirk.
“Confidence and cockiness are the same thing depending on your viewpoint. Suffice to say we don’t need either to state we’re winning this.”
“I would be surprised if anything to the contrary happened. The Heritage might be a threat in numbers, but numbers are always something we’ve had.”
“Yeah, Doc’s always been a mother hen like that. Lucky for us, there shouldn’t be a repeat of what happened with Karlie anytime soon.”
“The Heritage are too cowardly to choose the honorable way.”
“And we’re too wise to do any different.”
“And maybe once we put down the ‘Canadian’ Tag Team Champions, Torture or the new GM will give us what we’re owed.”
“If they were smart Spayde and Grady would just hand them over now, save everyone the time.”
“People DO love wasting everyone’s ti—”
“Hello there. My name is Tina Timely.
I am here to remind you that time is just an illusion. Its existence is indicative entirely as a manmade creation. If humans as a whole would cease measuring it, its entire concept would no longer exist.
As such, it is not a surprise that things created after a certain moment would find themselves existing before its said creation. Anything is possible with time.
Because time is a falsehood
It is a lie
So remember
“Hello there. My name is Tina Time—”
NOTHING IS REAL
LIVE
LAUGH
LOVE
YOU’VE ALREADY
“What the fuck was that?”
Kitsumi glances around, her eyes wide.
“Kit, what the fuck was all of that?”
Roddy’s hands are over his eyes, rubbing them as if trying to clear away something blinding him or blurrying his vision.
Which is a description that is too descriptive to not be accurate.
Wait, how the fuck did I get here?
“Who said that?”
“Kit, it’s me.”
What the fuck? She can hear me?
“Who’s there?”
“Kit, something’s going on. I can’t…the world is just…”
He lets his hands drop as he tries to look around.
“…Kit, I can barely see anything. I don’t…I don’t know what the fuck just happened, but if you can find a way to reverse it…”
“No! My name is
“Kit what the fuck is happening?!”
Yo I’m with this guy. What the fuck is going—
Roddy can’t help the shriek that emits from his mouth, his eyesight suddenly back to full form.
He breathes in and out, clutching his chest. Kitsumi can see Doc approaching, obviously worried.
“Mother hen indeed…”
Kitsumi glances to her right and spots Him awaiting her arrival.
Her smile grows and she stands.
“Pardon me gentlemen, but He is here. This was a nice conversation, Rod. I will see you come CruiserClash.”
She walks off, hoping to surprise Aisuru with her arrival.
Doc places a hand on Roddy’s shoulder. He jumps, shrieking once again.
“Roddy, what’s wrong?”
Roddy shoves Doc’s hand off his shoulder. He stands up abruptly, walking away from the bench. Doc follows him as he talks.
“Get in touch with that Chinami girl as soon as you can. I just had a GLIMPSE of what the fuck Kit can do, and I need to know what she knows.”
