Character Name: Gerard Angelo
Nickname: "The Moriarty of Action Wrestling", “The Living Legend”, “The Hollywood Hero”, “The Man Without Peer”
Hometown: Hollywood, California
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 225 lbs
Alignment: Arrogant Heel
In-Ring Style: All Arounder, Gerard is well traveled and trained in the art of wrestling, along with basic training in many disciplines of martial arts as he likes to do his own stunts in movies. He also just might be the best athlete in the business. Gerry can fly, he can brawl, he is very technically sound. That being said, he’s not going to out fly a luchador, or out strike someone well versed in strong style. Jack of all trades, Master of none. (But don't tell him that.)
Bio: Having been in the business for many, many, years, Gerard Angelo has been through a lot. He was born in Newark, NJ to Anthony Angelo and Nora McGuiness. His parents had been engaged to be married while his father was getting his tech business start up running. While it finally took off during the internet boom, the new found money and success went to his father’s head and a line of cheating and worse drove Tony and Nora apart. Over the next years of his life it led to Gerard and his younger brother Sean splitting time between his mother’s home in North Jersey and out on the West Coast in California where his father moved the company headquarters. Gerard had been born with the gift of athleticism growing up and was a stand out in football, baseball, and wrestling. In highschool he helped lead his highschool to back to back state championships in football as a wide receiver/free safety which lead to him receiving offers from USC, UCLA, Georgia, and the University of Miami. Gerry committed to the University of Southern California to become a Trojan. Playing at a big time college program would be beneficial for Gerard if he wanted to play in the NFL, but alas, disaster struck. During the off-season Gerard and two other players were pulled over during a traffic stop. They were charged with possession of 2 ounces of Marijuana, an 8-ball of cocaine, and multiple prescriptions (that didn’t belong to anyone in the car) of opioids. Gerard, being born into a family of privilege (both monetarily and racially) got off nearly scott free. Both of his other teammates weren’t very lucky, and it is a guilt Gerard is still processing to this day. Though legal charges were escaped except for a brief sentence of community service, Gerard had his scholarship revoked. Thought he was wealthy enough to pay to go to any college he wanted (his father’s company, AngTech as it was known at the time had made him a multi-millionaire) Gerard knew that it would be awhile before any other programs would look his way do to the metaphorical scarlet letter attached to him. Gerard attended community college at the request of his mother. While it seemed he was just doing nothing, Gerard threw himself into a childhood passion of his, professional wrestling. The glitz and glamor and adoring fans, it seemed like just the thing Gerard craved at the time.
Gerard looked around and found there was a wrestling school in Los Angeles, touted as the place where a number of pro wrestlers Gerry knew got their feet wet. Gerard made the trip to downtown LA where he found simply a hole in a wall inside a strip mall that was dirty, unairconditioned, and two wrestling rings that looked like they should be condemned. The owner/head trainer was Jon Starsemore, a man that would become a father figure for a young Gerard. Gerry also met the first love of his life, Kara DiMarco.
Let’s jump ahead a decade or so. Gerard is a successful star in wrestling. Popular, charismatic, handsome, he starts getting offers to be in movies. Gerard, knowing one can’t get beat up forever for a living, takes the opportunity. His movies are a hit. His career takes off and he suddenly is going to red carpets, rubbing elbows with guys like Leonardo DiCaprio and Chris Evans, he’s the center of tabloid gossip discussing his flings with several famous women (whose names will be kept private due to legal issues. Google it if you're curious, nerd.) Gerard starts to have more and more time entertaining fans on the silver screen rather than between the ropes. Though one always desires the rush that comes from the live crowd.
After signing with Action Wrestling at the end of 2021, Gerard debuted on the January 3rd edition of Clash. He was subsequently added to the Trials of Despair tournament set up by AW and the United States champion, CJ Phoenix. Gerard made his in-ring debut against Sam Kidsgrove that saw the two fight to a time limit draw, but luckily due to certain circumstances, both of them were able to advance in the Trials. The following week Angelo pinned Action Wrestling mainstay Odin Balfore in a hardcore match to advance. Gerard then headed to the finals to face Lissie Hope in the finals. Due to some...outside interference, Gerry was able to put the former World champion down for a 10 count, which granted Gerard a title shot for the US championship at Revolution 5.
At Revo5, Gerard faced off against CJ Phoenix in a steel cage match with the title on the line. After a fast pace match that ended with Gerry springboarding himself into a Talon Kick, Grindhouse attacked CJ, beating him down before revealing an alliance with Gerard Angelo. The following week on Clash, it was revealed Grindhouse were serving as hired guns for Angelo. They assisted him again in a beat down of the US champ where Gerard stated he wouldn't rest until he snatched the US title away from CJ. Gerard remained with only the one blemish on his record, even co-reffing a cluster fuck of a main event where CJ got some retribution in a knock out super kick. AW management decided to grant Gerard a rematch with CJ at the Battlebowl event. Angelo contested that Phoenix had cheated by having the door of the cage locked, even though CJ denied knowledge of it. That led to Gerry declaring that he doesn't lose when everything is fair and honest.
The two competitors faced off again at Battlebowl in another back and forth match, but this time it ended with Gerard's hand being raised and claiming the United States Championship for himself.
Gerard once again proved himself as a top competitor when he places third in Havoc in his first try, narrowly getting eliminated by Jill Park. After this Gerry was involved in a 5way feud over the US title involving himself, Cassidy Adler, Sam Kidsgrove, Tatianna Jolee and Claire Hawkins. This lead to a 5 way scramble at Evolution V. Gerard lost the title despite not being involved in the decision.
After Evolution, Gerard was place in a qualifying match for a number one contenders Fatal Fourway where he defeated the unbeaten Tony Savage. He was added to the Fourway that also involved Dionysus, Carter Shaw, and Corey Black. Gerry managed to come out on top which earned him a date in the main event of Meltdown against Dandy DiVito, who had a death grip on World title for months. At Meltdown, despite interference from Empire Business, Gerard managed to rip the title away from Dandy's grasp, becoming top champion in the company in little over half a year.
For most of the later half of 2022, Gerard had a death grip on the AW World Championship, defending against the likes of Lissie Hope, Sam Kidsgrove, Bozo, "Hot Shot" Wayne Austin, and Dionysus. After a messy end to a title defense against Dion at HolidayClash where Gerard intentionally DQed himself to retain the Championship, Dion was added to Gerard's scheduled title defense against Wrestler of the Year 2022 winner Spencer Adams on the season primere of Clash. Clash GM Alexabder Pasternak admonished Angelo, which didn't sit right with the champion and he had some choice words for Pasta and his father, Co-President of Action Wrestling Torture. Pasternak named himself special enforcer for the match and Tort said he would be in the Staples Center (Crypto.com Arena is a dumb name) that night. The end of an epic Triple Threat match between Angelo, Dionysus, and Adams would turn into a clusterfuck that saw Torture align with the then All-In briefcase holder Jill Park that saw her gon all in and finally snatch the World title from the vicegrip of "The Living Legend".
The Clash after the Season Primere Screwjob, Gerry challenger Park to a rematch that night for the championship. Park accepted but it turned into a beat down from Jill and her boyfriend Jake Paul. Luckily, that same night, Paternak announced that a Fatal Fourway for the World Championship would take place at the Gold Rush PLM that included the former champ, Park, Spencer, and Sam Kidsgrove. The Fourway didn't go as planned as Jill Park once again escaped with the World Title in he grasp.
Tensions continued to be high after Gold Rush where Gerard and other continued to jockey for position in title contention. Pasternak once again announced a multi-person match at Battlefield, this time an Elimination Chamber match involving Jill Park, Spencer, Kidsgrove, Regan Voorhees, and Addy A. Gerard pinned Sam in his last match, retiring him effectively. He lasted until the end where he was beaten by Jill Park.
Gerard sort of spiraled downward after this, not really finding his footing, even suffering a loss on Clash to FPV. However there was one last beacon of hope for Gerard to main event Evoltuion. Havoc. Angelo entered at number 18 in his second Havoc, lasting until the end against old rival Lissie Hope. Hope took this round of their rivalry, winning Havoc much to the dismay of Gerard Angelo.
The Clash after Havoc, Dandy DiVito (Who returned at Havoc and was eliminated by Gerard) demanded to be inserted into the main event. Angelo interrupted and declared if anyone should be inserted into the title picture, it should be the guy who was never beaten for the World title. This led to Pasternak saying no. Dandy blamed Gerry for it, which led to him wanting a match with The Living Legend at Evolution Six. Gerard declined. Dandy countered with putting his career on the line to get a piece of Angelo, who accepted.
They had a violent fight at Evolution where neither man could put the other away. The ref had gotten knocked down so Gerry had taken advantage and nailed Dandy with two consecutive one man ConChairTos, making Dandy's brother Richard watch before denting the chair over his head. Angelo defeated Dandy, ending his career.

Entrance:
The arena’s lights go black, plunging the inside into darkness causing a nervous murmur to flush over the crowd. The ActionTron lights up suddenly, reflecting the night sky over water when stars start flying at the screen with the familiar orchestra music. They turn on the water and fly toward a familiar mountain with the sunrise behind it. The 21 stars form two-thirds of a circle over the mountain but instead of “Paramount”, the cursive font reads “Gerard Angelo” and the crowd fucking boos.
“I CAN’T STOP!”
The lights start to flash as “STOP” repeats repeatedly from different speakers in the arena as the beat builds and then drops.
BOOM
An explosion of gold fireworks goes off.
“I CAN’T STOP!”
The house lights come back on as the hook of “Who Gon Stop Me” rings out through the jam-packed arena as the crowd continues to boo. The lights come back on as Kanye West’s voice serenades the people as they give loud boos, Gerard Angelo is shown standing on stage, back to the crowd, the hood of his hoodie pulled up, right arm raised above his head at an angle, one finger extended. The World Heavyweight Championship is draped over his shoulder, the face plate facing the camera. He throws his hood back with his right hand and spins around to the crowd as he extends one arm like he’s absorbing another wave of booing, the other holding the World title up, a cocky smirk etched across his face as he surveys the crowd behind his trademark sunglasses, He makes his way down to the ring slowly, brushing off fans and taunting them.
Ethan Miller: From Hollywood, California, weighing in at 225 lbs, he is the World Heavyweight Champion, the Living Legend, GERRRRRARD ANGELOOOOOOOOO!
He stops at the ring stairs, slaps the top step before climbing them, and walks to the center of the ring apron. Angelo surveys the arena again to another round of boos, and poses, holding the championship up as pyro explodes from the four ring posts. Gerard slips through the middle and top rope into the ring. He walks to the opposite ring post before leaping onto the second turnbuckle, raising the title again to the booing crowd. Gerry points to the crowd before unzipping his hoodie, which gets more than a few ladies in the audience to scream out, pulling it off and pretending to toss it to the fans before just dropping it on the floor with a smirk. "The Hollywood Hero" hops down, and reluctantly hands the World title to the referee. He removes his sunglasses, placing them neatly in his corner before leaning back against the turnbuckles, mouthing off to the fans as he stretches.
