A Christmas Starr
-From the birth of Jesus Christ to Newton's discovery of gravity, great conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn have many notable connections in human history

“Hiya, Action Wrestling.”
Minka Starr assumes a half lotus pose nestled in a director’s chair. The casualness of her greeting matches her attire: scotch plaid pyjama pants and a Queen City Pro Wrestling tee shirt.
“Looks like the planets are in the right alignment for me to make an appearance. Ok, not really. Cosmic fate didn’t drag me back to ADub. My reasons for entering CruiserHavoc are far-reaching though; and carry just as much weight.”
“Yeah, sure: CruiserHavoc is being held in Las Vegas; and me and Bea just happen to be in town to visit a friend of hers for the holiday.”
The ingenue grins and winks.
“But I’m not entering one of the most high-risk, unpredictable match types in pro-wrestling to kill time between shows. Nah. I’m here to win the Action Wrestling Cruiserweight Title to send a message.”
“To everyone who thinks business as usual is something we workers have to accept.”
“To everyone who thinks I’m a dilettante who cuts and runs when the going gets tough.”
“To everyone who thinks I don’t deserve whatever spotlight shines on me.”
“The message: Watch. Me. Rise.”
“Watch me enter CruiserHavoc and win the whole damn thing. I’m going to become the new face of this division because talent wins out and drive is rewarded, and I got both in spades.”
“I was the one who put Flop in his place when he was gloating about killing Norb Smalley. I became Number One Contender to the Cruiserweight Title by beating CJ Phoenix and forcing him to reevaluate why he actually wrestled- not to keep others from glory, but to find it for himself. A change of brands and two titles later, he’s gotten the message.”
“I’m the one who kicked Teo Blaze right in his smug, misogynistic face when he dared talk down to me, and pinned him for the one-two-three.”
“How many times has that happened on CruiserClash?”
“Yeah, you can try and question my commitment. I’ve dipped out on this company twice-but it was after getting sandbagged by goons who were scared of my talent and what I represented.”
“And that’s the future.”
“CruiserClash needs to move forward. I’m gone for six months and it feels like nothing has changed. A decent authority figure in JJ Biggs gets destroyed by talent on his show; hurt so badly he has to be stretchered out, and the culprits are still booked for CruiserHavoc.”
“It’s Donald Deruty Redux. And nobody cares. Not even Biggs’s boy JC Keeton, who seems more concerned about trolling Lissie Hope on Twitter than standing up for his mentor.”
“That’s the mentality I'll fight. Keeton might be willing to accept that horseshit because he grew up in ‘the industry’ but I won’t.”
“Pro Wrestling does not have to be the way it is right now. We don’t have to take things as they are because of moldy old leftovers like Corey Black and Jersey Jim Luzzatto- dudes who hear the lyrics to ‘Glory Days’ and completely miss the irony.”
“We can change it if we want. All it takes is resolve and the willingness of like-minded individuals to work together.”
“I got plenty of respect for wrestlers, and wrestling, but ‘the industry’ itself? It’s well past due for a controlled burning. Let’s clear out the deadwood so new things can flourish. New talent. New ideas.”
She pops her jersey to acknowledge the company it reps.
“It’s why I signed on with Queen City Pro. It’s owner has a real vision, one I respect, and it’s my goal to help build it into something that reshapes the sport.”
“But I can do more than that. I need to if my words are to have any weight at all. As the man supposedly born under the ‘Christmas Star’ once preached-
“Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”
“Hiya, Action Wrestling.”
