Galatians chapter six verse two tells us to bear one anothers burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Karlie sits on the steps of the Minnesota Fundamentalist Church.
If there is one person that has bore my burdens it’s Nikola. Nikola Vaughn is that one true friend everyone wishes they had, and I’m glad I have, either one of us put their life on the line to protect the other.
Karlie smiles.
Last week, we had our first match against each other and I know the internet assholes have their opinion of the match, but I never cared what keyboard jockey ever had to say. Last week Nikola and I gave the undeserving people in Indianapolis a great match, whether they want to admit it or not.
Karlie greets several members of her congregation as they walk by.
Last week I was insistent, I wanted her to win, but like a true friend she refused, saying it was best for Red, White, and Bruised. What a friend.
The fall Minnesota air gave Karlie a slight chill.
I’ve had to battle for everything I have in wrestling, I didn’t have a famous uncle to live vicariously through, and wish for just one day I could be one third of how good he probably was. They say the road to gold is paved with good intentions, well..
Karlie is interrupted by her second in Command Lisa Ann.
Lisa Ann: Ms. Karlie, they're waiting for you inside.
Karlie: Guess I’ll have to continue this later then.
Karlie stands up and walks inside the church.
Back at home Karlie and Tracy discuss the upcoming match with Teijin.
Tracy: You’ve been in the ring with Teijin before, sure it was a six person tag match when he got a flunk roll of Terra Walker, but at least you got a taste of what he can do in the ring.
Karlie: And it wasn’t anything special, but hey what could I possibly know about Japanese wrestling, right.
Tracy: Greg and Steve hired those Japanese wrestlers for you to train with.
Karlie: Honestly, anyone could learn me to throw a million chops, and if I wanted to learn how to kick someone stiffly, I’d ask Nikki, those Japanese wrestlers bored me, chop, kick, chop, kick, and that one chick was supposed to be a legit martial artist, Nikki and Lee picked her technique apart.
Tracy: I’m aware of that, but maybe you can try and use some of the stuff in your match.
Karlie: Nah, I’ll just kick Teijin’s ass, then drop him on his head.
Tracy: Okay we’ll do it your way.
Karlie: Naturally.
Tracy: But remember the goal.
Karlie: I know what the goal is, her name is Terra Walker.
Tracy: So what about those matches you’ve been watching.
Karlie: Research and it gave me a great idea how I deal another failing effort to Teijin, and humiliate him.
Tracy: I see.
Karlie: Oh, you’ll see and so will everyone else at Cruiserclash this week, how I beat him, he will never recover from.
Tracy: I can’t wait.
Hours later Karlie is sitting on her patio, under the dim light.
When this tournament was announced, I’m sure everyone was excited, Reagan and Addy, used it as a prop in their personal feud, to the point they were removed for future title contention, but did JJ Biggs actually think Joey fucking Bunga had any chance against me, and we all know that Riddler was supposed to beat both Nikki and me, but that didn’t happen either, Riddler failed, and last week, well we know how that went.
Karlie cracks her neck.
The difference between you and me Teijin, everything I’ve accomplished, it's been for me, I never lived in anyone’s shadow, and when I look in the mirror, I accept my few failures as my own. When you fail Teijin, part of your Uncle’s legacy dies a little bit more. Teijin, I honestly used to respect you, then I realized all I was respecting was a failure, and I hate failure. Masuda this week I will deal you one more humiliating loss, Teijin you don’t deserve to be Cruiserweight Champion, unlike me.
