“I could not have deigned for a more prophetic ending to my debut match. After the victor was announced, when the slayer of the serpent was proclaimed, not myself, but Alice, I was inundated with doubts regarding my potential for possessing the pathological brutality required to emerge the hero. I have learned a lot in my relatively short chronology elapsed as a part of this performance artistry, and I believe I speak with authority when I say that every single other performer would rather have won their first competition. I, however, am not every performer. I am Alek Shades.
“What I was involved in is nothing short of Schrodinger's wrestling match. I was definitely not the winner, of that I have no delusions. Despite that, I was not the clear loser, either. This is a precarious position I share with my upcoming opponent Jake Fog. The difference between you and I, Fog, is our outlook on the situation. You are forcing yourself to come to terms with how the record books will inevitably reflect the loss on your record. I am able to transcend the phallogocentric preoccupation with victory.
“This situation I'm in is indeed prophetic because it predicts how I'll be perceived by my fellow competitors. You place the blame for your defeat on your inability to break through the mental barrier, in assaulting the minds of your opponents through the dissection of their persona. This is inherently flawed, as if it were true, who would be better at playing mental games than myself? Despite this, I was defeated. To your credit, you understand this. That’s why you focus your attention in fields where your neural network is equipped to excel.
“You are able to instead dissect every move of your opponents, every strategy, every angle from which they attack. I said it last Monday, and I’ll say it again tonight, Jake. Overthinking, overanalyzing separates the body from the mind. Your body is not able to perform in sync with the levels at which your mind is operating. That’s why you can perfectly identify the shortfalls of your opponents after a match is decided, yet you cannot implement this skill in order to alter the outcome of one which is still in progress. You, my friend, are simply an armchair general.
“We both ended up in the same place, neither victorious, nor defeated, and I believe that’s exactly why we have been pitted against one another. In this post modern world many people often make the mistake of believing that reality can be perceived in an infinite number of ways, and even more egregious, that any number of those perceptions may be considered valid and no more or less accurate than any other perception. In order to establish that reality is finite, one of us must emerge definitively superior over the other. To be fair to the postmodernists, in theory, there are an infinite number of separate possibilities where anything can happen in this match. Unfortunately for them, in the metaphysical reality in which we exist, there is only one logical conclusion: Alek Shades will claim victory over Jake Fog.
“I am already being underestimated by my opponents, and that is why the obvious outcome will be denied by you and others. When I appeared to flounder in my match at what should have been my moment of perfect opportunity, I was faced with a revelation I had not yet epiphanized. I had to reconcile my own immortality against the mortal afflictions facing myself and my opponents. At that moment, I tried to embrace this realization, that I am eternal, all this pain is an illusion. I tried to understand something far greater than myself, and I am now at peace with my own potential for brutality. Many question how I speak of my untold capacity for violence, yet claim to be a force for good. Human beings are capable, everyone, of atrocities beyond our imagination. That is why we must army ourselves against our darker side. When I allowed myself to tap into my violent side, it threatened to overwhelm me.

I was not possessed by some outside creature, I was in conflict with myself:
