ESTABLISHING - CAR ON HIGHWAY - DAY

CLOSE ON CAR
Rain lashes down, the camera zooms into a banged up Lincoln, with one working light and the wipers make it somehow less visible when they are working. MYSTERY PARTNER, face covered by sunglasses and a scarf is driving. Johnny Cash’s hurt is playing on the radio.

It’s been a long time coming, the drive is hell, everything is banged up. I’m in the middle of buttfuck Nebraska and I don’t know where I’m going, but hey at least I’m going somewhere. I think it was Confucius who once said It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop. I stopped. This is my major regret. I dropped the proverbial ball, lost focus and I was distracted by the envies of mankind so I inevitably stopped because of it. The past year being a blur - a flurry of rage, self deceit and anger boiled over, eventually becoming my nemesis. My own hubris taking me down, landing me in an impossible situation and leading to disaster. But you know, falling down is a part of life, it’s the getting back up. Getting back up is living, getting back up is winning, and I’m getting back up.
The song changes - no longer Johnny Cash’s hurt. Now Disturbed, sound of silence.

So I gotta go help the Hollywood Elite for balance. After all, taking care of yourself takes more than just taking care of yourself, that’s the sweet spot. Hollywood has done a lot for me over the years, the friendships we forge in that town endure, there’s something special about shared experiences that make us bond as artists and craftsmen. So when I get a call from TFK, when I get a call from Shadowlove, I’ll be there. When I was in my healing mind palace, I think I sensed them, small voices in the distance sending me their prayers, giving me their blessings. I think that’s what I heard. I don’t know, it could have been God.
Suddenly the mystery partner brakes. A bull is standing on the road in front of him. Mystery Partner turns off his engine and studies the bull.
MP
That’s a big bull. Ah, Cyrus. 1800 pounds of I can do whatever the heck I want. You own this stretch of road, don’t you? You kinda remind me of Alex Richards. He’s a big bull. He’s like you Cyrus, a mass of power, strength and unpredictability. He’s just as likely to charge as he is to move over for you and put you over. You don’t know what you’re going to get with that big Ol’ bull. That’s why he calls himself the king of Mass Confusion I guess.
You know though. There’s something strange about that guy, something I have never quite shaken off. Something that makes me think that Richards, this bull, this Cyrus isn’t quite as menacing and as big a road block as people think. Think about it, you see a bull in the road, 9 out of 10 people will turn around rather than try to go past because the bull is big and strong and dangerous, right? The bull can’t possibly be bypassed, it’s inevitable and you have to find another way. Alex Richards is the same, you can’t just go round him, you either challenge him and take him head on or avoid him. Well, being challenged in life, that’s inevitable. Being beaten though, that’s entirely optional and turning back is being beaten.
So here’s what I’m gonna do. I’m gonna take on that bull, just like Gilgamesh when he fought the bull of heaven. He had no fear that day, he was with friends and managed to tame the beast. That is what I will do, I have nothing to fear and will tame the beast. It won’t be easy, they say, Alex RIchards is a Hall of Fame shoe in they cry. Really? I mean can you really say that the one guy who has been in and out of the Guardians so often that no one really knows if he was ever in it for real is a Hall of Fame shoe in? But! I hear the naysayers also cry. He’s won multiple titles and is also the number 1 contender for the World Championship! His stock is bigger than it ever was! This is all true, for sure and if you think about it, it makes sense.
This big Cyrus in the road should be the number 1 contender, he should be the big stud, he should be number 1 and the main man in the organisation, but he isn’t is he? Why is that? Maybe it’s the zim-quilla, maybe it’s addled his brain so much that he doesn’t know that he has to take threats in the road seriously. Maybe he methods the king of confusion persona so hard because he’s trying to delude himself. He’s trying to convince himself that he’s on the farm, being a stud and living the high life rather than standing in the middle of the road and blocking traffic, holding others back from moving on. I mean it’s not as if he’s going to win the title and if he does, then his partner Casey Holliday will just take it off him anyway. So why stand there in the first place? Pride I guess, vanity maybe? I don’t know. If I wasn’t vegan, then Cyrus my friend, I would turn you into a steak this Monday on Clash. But I’ll be more humane.
TRANSITION TO OUTSIDE CAR
Mystery Partner exits the car, slowly, dramatically, keeping one eye on the bull. He walks around to the boot of the car, still looking at the bull. He picks up a cattle prod, and slowly, deliberately walks to the bull.

That’s some good coffee. I look around and I see so many people rushing, chasing money, dreams and living their lives full of stress. I always say never be in a hurry, do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset. This is the key to life. This is what I’d say to Casey Holliday if I saw her. On one hand she seems calm, she seems like she has a plan. She announced her all in cash in for the 18th August, everything is all planned and really handled with calm poise and a sense of purpose. She seems like she has always planned it. She took her time and thought about it and didn’t rush into a bad decision. It’s commendable in a way, she must have had Tyche trying to get her to gamble the chance away at every opportunity.
That’s not the real case though is it? From what I understand, she was itching to cash in at every opportunity, her material desires and her lust for gold were at odds with the calm and rational part of her brain. She was actually listening to Tyche all the time and was so close to cashing in during Evolution 2 but Santiago, Chris Santiago, that oh so pointless footnote in the history of AW thwarted her plans. You see Casey is like a swan, she is calm, collected and serene on the surface - looking like she’s in control, but below the surface? Below the surface it is chaos, so much panic in her head, so much doubt and confusion about where she finds her place in this scripted reality of Action Wrestling, another of those velveteen wrestlers who need to realise her place. In my mind, if you have the all-in briefcase and you don’t cash it in when you want to because an absolutely pointless irrelevance stopped you from doing so then you didn’t deserve it.
Then again, we are talking about someone who was just given the briefcase because they so happened to have a long title reign from another organisation entirely. Hell if that’s a thing, Andre Jenson has had the ACTUAL world title since 2016. He doesn’t have a free briefcase and he’s hardly ever even booked. Sam Kidsgrove has been the International champion since November the 19th, which is almost 3 weeks less than Holliday had the UCI title. I have yet to see anyone give him a thing, other than the travesty that is Dandy DiVito. How well are Casey Holliday and Alex Richards going to get along anyway? You have to have tension there, but they’re coming up against the Hollywood Elite. They Hollywood Elite, now I’ve known these guys for a long time and they are the most in sync, dominating team out there. They know what they want to do and they do it. No questions, no tension, no egos. Just a team, a unit. This will be shown in the match on Monday. I just hope that I don’t get in the way too much as a mystery partner. They’re professionals though, they know what to do.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Michael X. Here you have a guy that joins the organisation, wins in his debut match which so happens to be the Havoc rumble, then promptly goes and chokes on the big stage when he gets his big shot. Now I know he is training particularly hard, to make sure this doesn’t happen again. I know he’s working hard to make sure he gets another opportunity and I know he must feel incredible shame and sadness that he had so much fanfare and was adored on his debut but now has been relegated to being the third wheel in a match where the next two potential champions are his partner. Man, that must feel cold, to know that you’re on the outside looking in when you could have been the champion and then failed to win a second chance. A Second chance that was won by your partner. Maybe this is because Michael X is only good when people aren’t ready for him.
Maybe Michael X can only win matches when he blindsides everyone and shows up unannounced and no one even thinks he’s there. As soon as someone can prepare for him, he just becomes predictable. He can come at you with that whatever it takes attitude, with weapons, tricks or anything he can like he’s Loki, descended from Asgard to do anything to win and hit his goals. I have to tell ya though, when you know it’s coming and you know that’s his attitude and style, you know just how to beat it. This is why Michael X won’t ever win the big one, people know how to handle him when they know he’s in the match. Michael X is like a wooden horse. If you don’t know it’s coming and you can’t prepare, he’s gonna kill you in the night and burn your city down. Look inside the horse because you knew though? You can just light it up and watch him burn.
This Monday night, the Hollywood Elite are going to show the world just what is meant when they say they are Elite. They’ll take on 3 of the best the AW has to offer and put on an Oscar winning performance and I for one can’t wait.
