Character Name:
Teo Blaze (Formerly Teo del Sol)
Nickname: N/A
Hometown: Houston, TX
Height:
6'1
Weight:
195
Alignment: (Face/Tweener/Heel) Mostly between tweener and face. Face against 90% of opponents.
In-Ring Style: Explosive, with no consideration for own health. A touch unhinged, and with a tendency to explode on opponents. Throws a lot of strikes, and Often uses flying and running moves, as well as flips and dives. Shows little concern for his own safety and uses his entire body as a weapon to make up for his (relatively) smaller size.
Bio:
(Hoo boy, strap in.)
Teo Blaze began his career in Houston Texas as "Teddy Blaze", a reckless and high-flying fan pleaser on the indy circuit. While he went on a brief tear, when he worked his way up to a regional title shot, he lost the match embarrassingly after overestimating his abilities. As a result, he began a spiral of depression and drinking that lead him to go on a nearly six month losing streak. He hit rock bottom when he wound up in Mexico working a lucha event that could barely afford a ring (and had livestock running around). After another loss and picking up his check, he was found outside the cantina by legendary Luchador Hector Habanero! Hector was a local legend who was well known and respected in Mexico, but had fallen on hard times after he retired. He took Teo to Habanero hall, his gym, and taught him about Lucha Libre, and Teo found new life in entertaining the fans. After about a year in training, he earned his mask and was reborn as Teo del Sol!
And so he was reborn as a fan favorite babyface. Without going into too much detail here, Teo del Sol was an instant hit upon returning to America. He embarked on feuds with the likes of David Sanchez, Jared Holmes, and Kyle Kemp, even teaming up with Spencer Adams to form "The People's Choice" Stable. He even purchased Habanero hall (now closed down) and rechristened it "El Gimnasio del Sol". Times were good, but...With that said, certain events that will not be mentioned here caused Teo to fall into a spiral of self-doubt, with his friends torn between two companies, he was reborn as the vicious and vengeful Teddy Blaze once more. He threw away his mask and adopted a more cynical, hateful attitude, lashing out at people around him, even former friends (such as Spencer Adams). His more aggressive style, while less popular with the fans, also led him to begin hijacking the airwaves on pirate broadcasts, stealing cameras and rechristening himself "The King of All Media" to fit his new aggressive persona.
(It is also during this time that another masked Teo began to appear in UCI, though sources cannot confirm whether it was the same man beneath the mask).
Well, eventually, Blaze's flame burned itself out a bit. He had worked out his aggression, but had not accomplished what he had hoped. Then his world was turned upside down when he won the tag titles with Kyle Kemp, his greatest rival! This caused something to snap in Teo's mind, and he temporarily began to believe that the universe had guided him to an impossible outcome (teaming with Kemp) in order to show him that the world was a disorderly and chaotic place. Donning a new mask, he began to preach the broken gospel, a rhetoric built on madness that stressed him as Chaos's chosen agent bringing enlightenment.
But this too was not destined to last. Although he was carried to new heights as the agent of Chaos, he began to realize that his circumstances were built on loss and pain, that he had reinvented himself over and over again to deal with the fact that he simply was becoming someone new, that he was growing as a person. With this understanding, he returned to Mexico and reclaimed his mask, wrestling once again as Teo del Sol, the revenant Luchador of the People's Hope!
...Except he began to realize that he did not feel like Teo del Sol any longer. Upon reflection (and a hard fought title match in a crater), he realized that he had been fundamentally changed by his experiences, and that rather than trying to turn back the clock to before he was the King of All Media or the Agent of chaos, that he should embrace the growth and changes he had put himself through. Thus, after some soul searching, he became Teo Blaze, a combination of all of his previous personas. He retained the optimism and hope of the Masked Luchador, but kept the aggressive edge of the Fiery King of All Media, combined with the unpredictability of the Agent of Chaos.
It is this Teo Blaze who chose to come to Action Wrestling, refined and shaped by his experiences, ready to craft another legacy and move forward with all the good and the bad he has accumulated along the way.
UPDATE! Events that has happened in AW
Since coming to AW, Teo has had a lot of stuff happen, so I will try to include that now in as much of its entirety as possible. After coming to AW, Teo's run thus far has been fairly hot and cold. He's earned several title shots, including a World Title match in an Elimination chamber, but has yet to win any of his title matches. The most success he has found was winning the Trios Tournament with Alex Richards and Kyle Kemp, though the team would ultimately be short-lived.
The big turning point for Teo came when he challenged Corey Black for the Hardcore Championship. Kevin Bishop returned and interfered, costing Teo the match. This frustration would cause Teo to undergo a bit of a personality shift, becoming more unhinged and aggressive. He would attack Kevin Bishop with a barbed wire bat in revenge at XIII. Shortly afterward, Teo began getting haunting messages from Scar, a person wearing the same mask that Teo wore in WCF, a wooden Red mask with white scars. Teo tried to confront the masked man, and ultimately deduced it was Kevin Bishop taunting him. The two had a match, with Bishop promising to reveal the identity if Teo won. After Teo defeated Bishop, however, Kevin revealed that Teo had been recording the messages to himself! Shortly afterward, Teo realized that when he put the mask on, he was overcome by a rush of anger and aggression, and he started to like it.
Before he could process these events, however, he was attacked backstage by Corey Bull! This kicked off a violent rivalry where the two beat each other senseless. As a result, Teo began to wear the mask more often, using the aggressive tendencies it provoked to hold his own with the much larger Corey Bull. Though Teo initially got the upper hand, beating Bull in a barbed wire match at XIII, the two beat each other senseless on a weekly, basis, culminating in a fiery showdown in a steel cage! Though Teo came up short against the monster, the grit and aggression he showed throughout the feud had transformed him, the fiery passion of Teddy Blaze reawakened once more.
Teo has most recently jumped to Cruiserclash, diving ever deeper into the aggressive side that the mask continues to provoke, and determined to use that aggression to right what he sees as a sinking ship, as well as test the limits of just how far the mask can take him.
Attire: Long black jeans, red belt, athletic tape on both hands, black shoes.
Entrance gear includes the signature red and white scarred mask, pictured here:
Theme song:
Pic Base: Matt Murdoch from Daredevil (netflix)- Teo's hair is probably slightly longer and not combed over, but that's a minor detail.
Entrance:
The lights begin flashing wildly, alternating between plain white light and dark red shades, as a haunting, almost sinister sound fills the arena. Suddenly, a roaring guitar riff echoes throughout the arena as a crash of static appears on the screens, followed by a message:
Then, without warning, the static is consumed by a smiling, dark red face as the ramp lights up with a burst of flame! The instant the flames fade, standing in the center, as though the flames themselves had summoned him, is Teo Blaze. He wears a bright red and gold mask over his face, matching the face that appeared on the tron moments ago. He turns towards the ring, his head hanging slightly to one side limply, even unnaturally, then slowly, he reaches up, and with his left hand...he removes the mask to reveal his face, an expression of wild abandon etched across it, a crooked smile showing a row of bright teeth. With a sinister laugh, he begins walking purposefully towards the ring, his eyes wild with anticipation- yet there is a determined swagger in his step, and as he walks up the stairs to the ring, he holds out the mask in front of him with one hand, the smile on his face matching the mask's smile perfectly. Finally, he steps into the ring, stretching loosely and preparing for the match.
