"I wouldn't say it was my best performance but it got the job done nonetheless. Over the past few weeks, I've been feeling much better genuinely speaking. I've been sleeping better, not much to worry about. For once, I'm really proud of the journey I'm on and I'm earning the respect of the fans. I like this. I like this change for the better. It feels right and it's the necessary decision if I want to be the greatest Action Wrestling World Champion in the future. However, I wish I could say the same for Max Masked. He's never gonna change and that's going to be his downfall."
PAWN.
Camila Gonzalez was on a two-win streak following her victories from both her triple threat matches. The hard-headed but heavy needed lesson from Jayson definetly made an impact in not only her career but her life. Social media has been going nuts over Camila's interaction with a 'fan' and she hasn't made any comment. Why? It's her life and she chooses how she wants to live. It didn't matter when someone makes a comment or has the nerve to post something in their blogs about her, she wants to live the way she does and nothing can stop her.
A life lesson can make the biggest impact in someone's life. Camila's recent example is a prime choice. Her victories in her last few matches were good but weren't great. Third times a charm will set the tone especially against an opponent she's defeated before. Honestly, she wanted more than simple challenges if she wanted to prove herself to the general manager. This was just a grooming sequence; Camila was being spoon fed on easy victories until the real challenge came. Pandemic. Claire Hawkins who managed to get under her skin was the next big target in her life. After all, no one upstages a goddess and gets away with it yet she's too busy strutting her stuff now that she has the belief she can beat Camila.
Perhaps Max does share the same ideal but unlike Claire, he can't do anything for himself. There was a time when Max Masked was on his own making his own decisions and thinking for himself. He had freedom to whatever he pleased yet he surrendered it when the circumstances wasn't on his side. Pathetic really and Camila never shared any mercy for the weak. In their first encounter, she destroyed him with ease. She knew personally he would be a puppet on a string tugged by the hands of stronger willed individuals plus he was never really that talented in the ring. Of course joining #FightSmart would propel his career by an inch..and a half. Poor guy. Camila did like his little masked gimmick but it all comes to an end.
However, it's the beginning for Camila. It's the beginning of her new career, her new journey and her change. She's willing to make the sacrifice to Jayson but also to the fake people who pretended to be her friends. Everything she knew, she's ready to throw it away for the chance of something real. Because what is real is irreplaceable.
Hyatt Place Columbus. Columbus, Ohio. July 5th, 2018. 1433 Hours.
Sunlight braces past the window panels and illuminates the scenery of the hotel suite she was staying at. The scent of her perfume battled the oxygen in the room. Camila laid down on the silk white sheets of her queen sized bed scrolling through her social media on her mac book. She shrugged her shoulders, rolled her eyes at the cheeky comments and rumors spreading around by her fans. What caught her attention was the 'leaked' pictures of her and Bryan from their night in their bar. She felt absolutely disgusted what they were saying about him. He's a creep, a loser and much worse; He didn't deserve to be treated like an animal because of her so she couldn't help feel bad about his reputation being demolished.
She slammed the laptop shut then stood up dragging her feet against the white rug and unwrapping the see-through silk blue robe exposing her Victoria's secret prime edition black lingerie. Her curly black hair flopping around behind her past her large bosom and she walked to the living room staring at the large smart flatscreen hoisted on the wall showing the daily news. Once again, the world doesn't know privacy for the news about Camila Gonzalez and Bryan were the headlines. What was wrong about her having a nice moment with an average guy she met? Her green eyes were straining and deteriorating from the pathetic job of the news anchors that she was forced to grab the remote and switch the channel to VH1.
"I swear, the world needs to mind their own god damn business and leave my fucking life alone!"
She threw the remote against the wall and it broke into pieces. Camila sat down on the white couch and leaned forward burying her forehead into the palm of her right hand. It was hard enough to witness Bryan be represented as a pawn in her life but she didn't feel any mercy towards Max Masked. Max chose to be a pawn for the benefit of glory; Bryan was forced in the public's view. She walked back over to her bedroom and grabbed her new iPhone X coated in a custom made phone case having her own signature printed on the back. Bryan's name was in her contact and she called him on Facetime.
"Hello?"
"Camila?"
"Hey Bryan! How's everything?!"
"I'm good! Do you want to tell me why you're Facetiming me while you're in your lingerie?"
Her eyes shot open and she looked down to her clothes realizing she didn't change. Camila looked back at Bryan's face on the screen then she put the phone down on the sheets, ran into the closet and ten minutes later, she returned wearing a sport's jersey, baggy workout pants and put her hair in a ponytail before picking the phone back up. Bryan chuckled and Camila couldn't stop blushing.
"Sorry about that. I just wanted to apologize."
"Apologize about what?"
"When we met at the bar, it wasn't for publicity. It was a real genuine moment and if you've been watching the news or even been on social media, they're trying to make it something else. I've already talked with my legal team to make sure your reputation is safe and you won't have any problems in the future."
He chucked his right eyebrow up, tilted his head to the left, pursed his lips then nodded.
"I appreciate the apology but you didn't have to do that. I don't care about what people think of me or say about me. I'm happy with where I am and who I am. You have nothing to be sorry for but thanks you called. I have to go, I'm done with my break but I'll call you later. Bye!"
"Okay bye!"
She dropped her phone on the bed again then sat down on the edge smiling to herself. His words were meaningful, embracing and what she needed to hear. The harsh reality of loving oneself in a life she lived was hard to find especially when the entertainment industry cracks down on women. She always felt like a puppet because it was the smart thing to do to pay off her bills and support her family. Truly, Camila was never happy despite telling the world how confident she was but now, she's more happy than ever. It wasn't being the bitch or the on-screen character of a goddess that made her jovial, it was being the little girl again enjoying life and Bryan made her feel like a real woman.
Bzzzz! Bzzzz!
Her iPhone X was going off multiple times and she looked beside her. Her marketing manager was on the screen thus she pressed her thumb against it answering the call with speaker volume applied. She fell back on the sheets again pissed off from him blowing up her phone for no reason.
"Camila! Camila! We need to talk!"
"I'm not in the mood. Call me back later."
"It's about this fellow you were with at the bar. You and him have been trending for two days and I think we can capitalize on that especially with your current campaign in Action Wrestling. You could use him as a way to have the audience on your side thus our target market would fit the geographical segmentation we need to launch your new fashion line! Profits are estimated to rise by fifty percent!"
She sat up instantly and thought about the opportunity. Besides beating Max Masked, this could be the break she needed to open her new business she discussed with her team behind the scenes. However, would it really be a good idea to use the first real guy she met as a tool for her success? This change was necessary but the money was also necessary too.
"I'll think about it."
"Call me A.S.A.P!"
INSANITY.
Striking the dark skies with lightning, the sudden flashes shows a woman sat down on the edge of a bed with her right leg crossed over the left. Camila looks pleased, not because she's dressed again in her lingerie, but because the match she has before her is one she knows she can win. After all, she's already faced against Max Masked and completely understands the level of competition he'll bring. Her hair having curly ends touches the base of the bed and she turns her head for her green eyes to stare into the camera lens.
"Well, well, well. Why is that when we embark on a new journey, the ghost of our pasts come back to haunt us? Well, I wouldn't exactly call this a ghost but it's someone from the past who is trying to break me down again. I guess the issue at hand is the decisions we make in our lives affecting our future no matter how small or big. Our actions in the present define the future ahead of us and there's always a cause and effect for the decisions we choose. Nothing else can stop the future so why should I be worried? I saw what my future was when I was being the bitch from before and I decide to change for the better. Now I'm earning respect, the support and I'm doing much better in my performances.
However, I wish I could say the same for my opponent. Is there a possibility that insanity may be a physical disease or is it the mental defamation we inflict upon ourselves? If you do the same thing expecting a different result from last time, that is the ultimate definition of insanity. So what is the most important thing to do? Change. Change it and see what the result is but what happens when the result gets worse? You deserve to go freakin' mental. Somehow, I believe Max Masked is probably the most mental individual in all of Action Wrestling because his decisions have led him past that point. He's truly a lost wrestler with no talent, no goals and no desire to be the best in the world.
Yet, here he comes into our rematch expecting him to win as if he even had a chance in the first one. He's completely gone off his rails and betrayed his own team. #FightSmart? What kind of man represents that name and has no collection of any intellect? Max Masked is a sorry fellow of a luchadore let alone even a representative of the worst stable in professional wrestling. It's bad enough he has to get a paycheck just for showing up but can anyone even fathom why this man deserves a rematch against me? This is why I can't stand people like him who do nothing and still get some type of compensation.
I never busted my ass weekly to have this sort of mess be lenient around here. No. Max Masked, I'm going to tell you exactly why you don't belong in Action Wrestling."
She gets up from the edge of the bed and walks over to the dresser where she opens up the first drawer removing a screwdriver. Camila sit down again then plays with it in her hands staring down at the little tool then her eyes flare up to the camera smirking.
"You see Max Masked, everyone and everything has a purpose or so we tell ourselves. Our purpose, in my belief, is how we shape our lives through our actions, our words and our thoughts. I thought my purpose was to be the Action Wrestling World Champion, which still is, but through seeing everyone as my unequal. I believed that the world was made for me and this promotion that housed all the resources to become the world champion was created solely for me. In other words, I would become a tyrant for everyone to fear and love at the same time to the point where no one would dare challenge me ever again. What has that done for me Max? It's gotten me nowhere except consolation prizes and compensation matches to choke at the biggest points of my career.
However, I saw a change and I took it. I have a new purpose. To be an honorable woman, a role model and an inspirational one of a kind world champion they will preach about until the day this world ends. That's what I believe in now Max. I've stopped being a brat, complaining and I've settled for actions over words. Nothing else can ever prevent that from happening and sooner than later, I will ensure my purpose is known across the entire world. Compared to you Max, I don't surrender my power or my freedom. I use them both to help myself and the people who believe in me. Please don't ever in your life try to see that. You don't know freedom nor power because you cave in too easily to any challenges in your life.
From the day you stepped into Action Wrestling, all you've done was served as a meat sack of a punching bag to your opponents. Sure, you've might have scored a few meaningless victories against a couple of losers but what have you done against actual competition? Nothing. You were being treated as a little jobber and you couldn't take it anymore. The gimmicks weren't working, your little shenanigans couldn't distract the world from seeing how pathetic you are and you had to figure out what was the next step in your career. Would it be to leave Action Wrestling forever or just remain as the insignificant spec of pure disgust you were known for?
But!
Spencer Adams made an offer. An offer that only required one thing that was so easy to do. Surrender your free will, throw away your power and serve him as a glory hound pawn in his game. What did you do? You said yes. The fame, fortune and all the beautiful benefits of living the high life was too much for you to turn away right. Of course, you just had to accept it. It was your only way out of the hell hole you were in and now look at you, you're still the same thing from before."
Camila rolled her eyes and tossed the screwdriver away. She leaned forward, her elbow braced against her large thighs as her hands interlocked with each other.
"Max. You are still the same little loser from our first match and you've made yourself worse than that. You've turned into an expendable liability because you couldn't hold up your end of the bargain. You easily surrendered yourself to a group of misfits, wannabe and cowards making you worse than scum hence why I will use you as a stepping stone and a tool in the grand picture of becoming Action Wrestling World Champion. I'm this close to receiving the golden prize of the All-In contract and you think I'm going to let some douchebag like you ruin all that I worked hard for?
No. I'll tell you this. I'm coming for that briefcase and I'll even end Claire Hawkins' career on the way but as for you, let's do it one more time. Let me show the world why I'll burn you and everyone who gets in my way because Max, you may be apart of me #FightSmart but you #FightDumb."
